Yang Yu, later known as Jiaozi, was born in 1980 in Sichuan. Despite growing up in a family of doctors, he was deeply fascinated by animation from a young age. Although he studied medicine in the University, his passion for animation never faded. After graduating, he worked at an advertising company but felt unfulfilled. Determined to pursue his dream, he quit his job and dedicated himself to animation without stable income, supported by his mother’s monthly pension(养老金) of 1,000 yuan.
In 2008, Jiaozi completed his first animated short film and it received wide recognition, which strengthened his determination to pursue his animation dream. In 2015, he was invited by Enlight Media to direct an animated film. Choosing the mythological figure Ne Zha, Jiaozi aimed to reinvent the character, creating a rebellious yet heroic version that opposed traditional expectations. In classic Chinese mythology, Ne Zha is often seen as a heroic figure who fights against evil and upholds justice, but in the new version, Ne Zha struggles with his identity and fate with internal conflicts and loneliness, making him a more complex character.
In the following days, while Yang Yu and his team faced numerous challenges, they never gave up. After more than three years, “Ne Zha: I Am the Destiny” finally debuted(首秀), which won the love and praise of the audience with its inventive storytelling, emotional depth, and amazing visuals. In 2025, upon the release of “Nezha2: Rebirth of the Demon Child”, a sequel to Ne Zha, it took the box office by storm with 15 billion, breaking records in China and across the global film industry.
Jiaozi’s success revitalized(振兴) China’s animation industry, inspiring a new generation of creators.
24. What is Jiaozi’s major in the university?
A. Advertising. B. Medicine. C. Animation. D. Film-making.
25. Why did Jiaozi choose Ne Zha as the main character?
A. Because he got funded by Enlight Media.
B. Because he wanted to repay his mother for her help.
C. Because he intended to recreate the classic figure.
D. Because he desired to break the box office record.

Recently, a video of four snow leopards climbing snowy cliffs (峭壁) in northern Pakistan made environmentalists very excited. Snow leopards are one kind of animals that are hard to find in the wild. Seeing just one on camera is difficult, let alone four at a time. This sighting is seen as a big win for Pakistan’s efforts to protect wildlife.
Sakhawat Ali, a park worker who loves taking photos, filmed the snow leopards. He spent two weeks following their footprints in the Central Karakoram National Park, which is always covered in snow. It turned out that the four snow leopards were a mother and her three babies. Ali said that while people in his village often saw snow leopards, no one had ever seen four together before. He first saw the mother leopard. Then, he noticed more pawprints around. Later, from the roof of his house, he used binoculars (双筒望远镜) to look at a nearby cliff and was lucky enough to see all four leopards together. He quickly got his camera and filmed them from about 200 meters away.
People in Ali’s village were happy about the sighting. However, they were also a bit worried that the leopards might attack their farm animals.
Snow leopards are considered “vulnerable”, which means they are at risk of becoming endangered. They only live in high-altitude (海拔) mountains in the Himalayas, so they are seldom seen. The World Wildlife Fund in Pakistan said the sighting is a good sign, but snow leopards are still in danger.
Snow leopards face many threats, like losing their homes and not having enough food. According to the United Nations, human activities and more livestock are harming the land where snow leopards live. This makes it harder for them to find food. Other problems include people hunting them illegally, new building projects destroying their habitats, and climate change making the situation worse. Given the terrible situation, it’s necessary that local communities work together to protect these amazing animals. Only in this way will future generations be able to see snow leopards in the wild.
28. Why did the sighting of four snow leopards excite environmentalists?
A. It was a signal that the local climate was improving.
B. It was unusual that snow leopards appeared in a group.
C. It proved that snow leopards were no longer endangered.
D. It indicated that snow leopards could adapt to new habitats.
29. How did Sakhawat Ali manage to film the snow leopards?
A. By asking his neighbors for help.
B. By tracking and observing them carefully.
C. By waiting patiently near the cliff for long.
D. By using advanced technology to search the mountains.
30. What is the villagers’ attitude towards the sighting?
A. Mixed. B. Proud. C. Doubtful. D. Uncaring.
31. What’s the author’s purpose in writing the last paragraph?
A. To describe the challenges for animals.
B. To show human activities’ influence on wildlife.
C. To call for collective efforts to protect snow leopards.
D. To tell about the great adaptability of snow leopards.
D
Since the mid-1990s, tourists have paid storm-chasers to take them to places in the American Great Plains where they expect to see tornadoes (龙卷风), whose winds may top 250 miles an hour and can clear a pathway a mile wide and 50 miles long. Why, a reasonable follow-up question might go, would anyone want to get so close to something so disruptive? These tourists, a study found, characterized their relationship to severe weather as a “passion”, describing their feelings about tornadoes using words like “enjoyment”, “fascination” and “love”. But the main motivator seemed to be simple: Twisters are cool.
America has many more tornadoes than any other country, and its people have long regarded twisters with a mix of fear, awe and thrilled pleasure. Fast-moving and dramatic, tornadoes have been irresistible parts for popular entertainment. One needn’t be an extreme-weather enthusiast, however, to take a brief and far-less dangerous tour: of culture tornadoes have inspired and of the transformation of American society’s feelings about these storms from fear to excitement.
European colonists (殖民者) in the future United States were fascinated - and sometimes horrified - by their new land’s weather. In the Early Republic, some people began to write about tornadoes in terms of awe, and to produce art that explored the phenomenon’s natural beauty. Since the 1930s, American tornadoes have been less deadly: the country has much better early-warning systems, fewer people live in rural areas and tornado activity has largely shifted from the southeast to the thinly-populated Great Plains.
Storm-chasing-a scientific, thrill-seeking activity that most Americans found out about via the 1996 film Twister, is still incomprehensible to many who don’t practice it. “I find it difficult to explain to someone who hasn’t chased what forces us to seek pleasure from risk,” wrote Jennifer Henderson, a crazy storm-chaser, characterizing her feelings while chasing as “a sense of exposure and revelation (揭露) tightly coupled”.
32. What does the underlined word “disruptive” in the first paragraph mean?
A. Amazing. B. Ruinous. C. Essential. D. Complicated.
33. What do we learn about tornadoes in America?
A. They are small high-speed weather events.
B. They are less common in American history.
C. They have aroused interest in weather tours.
D. They are less dangerous than normally supposed.
34. Why did tornadoes become less harmful in America?
A. The population of America declined dramatically.
B. The tornadoes didn’t exist in the southeastern area.
C. The natural disaster warning got improved.
D. The environment was damaged by colonists.
35. Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A. The Thrill of Storm Chasing B. The Tour of Watching Tornadoes
C. The Formation of Tornadoes D. A Unique Phenomenon in Nature

阅读下面材料:根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
When my husband Randy died in late fall, deciding what to do with his garden was way down on the list of necessary tasks. During the first few months, I cried with our daughters, planned a memorial, cried with my family, celebrated a quiet Thanksgiving, and panicked over not having bought Christmas presents.
As the calendar turned to a new year, the often rainy days and long nights deepened my sorrow. I found myself exhausted at the end of February, both physically and mentally.
Then the daffodils bloomed (开花) in the garden.
Years before, Randy had planted dozens of these lemon-yellow flowers. To him, they served as a reminder of hope, a promise that light and warmth would soon replace cold and dark. Looking at those daffodils, I thought about how Randy had considered our garden a living work of art, carefully choosing plants so we’d see new blooms every month.
Then I noticed all the weeds that had taken root and spread everywhere. The neglect (疏于打理) showed, for Randy’s illness had lasted a couple of years, a time when he didn’t have energy for yard work the way he had before.
Faced with the neglected garden, I felt overwhelmed in the beginning. My daughters suggested I hire a service to clean everything up. I didn’t respond.
Every time I sat in the garden alone, the memories of the lively garden came flooding, like the numerous scenes in an unforgettable film. Many days Randy came home from work, changed into old clothes, and headed out the door to mow or prune (修剪). Orange dragonflies followed him around the yard as he worked. Honeybees buzzed among the flowers, birds sang beautiful songs, and gentle breezes carried the sweet smell of dirt. No matter how cold or wet it was, the fresh air and physical activity made him energized and refreshed. For Randy, the work was quiet and comforting, which was a relief, as well as a pleasure.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请在答题卡的相应位置作答。
The days grew warmer and lighter, and I started the work myself.

In 2025, upon the release of “Nezha2: Rebirth of the Demon Child”, a sequel to Ne Zha, it took the box office by storm with 15 billion, breaking records in China and across the global film industry.

【答案】32. B 33. C 34. C 35. A

32. 词句猜测题。根据第一段“Since the mid-1990s, tourists have paid storm-chasers to take them to places in the American Great Plains where they expect to see tornadoes. Why, a reasonable follow-up question might go, would anyone want to get so close to something so disruptive? (自20世纪90年代中期以来,游客们花钱请风暴追逐者带他们去美国大平原上他们预计会看到龙卷风的地方。为什么,一个合理的后续问题可能会出现,会有人想如此接近如此disruptive的东西吗?)”以及下文“severe weather”(恶劣天气) 可知,龙卷风是有破坏性的,故选B。
33. 细节理解题。根据第二段中的“America has many more tornadoes than any other country, and its people have long regarded twisters with a mix of fear, awe and thrilled pleasure. Fast-moving and dramatic, tornadoes have been irresistible parts for popular entertainment. (美国的龙卷风比任何其他国家都多,长期以来,美国人民一直以恐惧、敬畏和激动的喜悦来看待龙卷风。快速移动和戏剧性的龙卷风已经成为大众娱乐无法抗拒的部分)”可知,美国的龙卷风引起了人们对美国天气旅游的兴趣。故选C。
34. 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“Since the 1930s, American tornadoes have been less deadly: the country has much better early-warning systems, fewer people live in rural areas and tornado activity has largely shifted from the southeast to the thinly-populated Great Plains. (自20世纪30年代以来,美国龙卷风的致命性一直在下降:该国有更好的预警系统,农村地区的人口减少,龙卷风活动基本上从东南部转移到了人口稀少的大平原)”可知,在美国,龙卷风的危害有所减少是因为美国在自然灾害预警方面取得了更大进展。故选C。
35. 主旨大意题。根据第一段中的“Since the mid-1990s, tourists have paid storm-chasers to take them to places in the American Great Plains where they expect to see tornadoes (自20世纪90年代中期以来,游客们花钱请龙卷风追逐者带他们去美国大平原上他们预计会看到龙卷风的地方)”以及“These tourists, a study found, characterized their relationship to severe weather as a “passion”, describing their feelings about tornadoes using words like “enjoyment”, “fascination” and “love”. (一项研究发现,这些游客将他们与恶劣天气的关系描述为“激情”,用“享受”、“着迷”和“爱”等词描述他们对龙卷风的感受。)”可知,本文主要描述了追逐龙卷风的美国人,并分析了游客们为什么会追求这种充满刺激的项目。A项“The Thrill of Storm Chasing(追逐龙卷风的刺激)”最能概括本文主旨,适合作为文章标题。故选A。

第二节(满分25分)
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请在答题卡的相应位置作答。
The days grew warmer and lighter, and I started the work myself.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Weeks later, my daughters returned to visit me.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 The days grew warmer and lighter, and I started the work myself. I realized I need to take care of the garden just like what Randy did before. Randy used to treat the garden as a living work of art. If he were alive, he wouldn’t be happy to see the garden in a mess. Therefore, I needed to take care of the garden just like what Randy did. I started weeding, watering and looking after the daffodils. It seemed like to me working in the garden was a way to commemorate Randy.
Weeks later, my daughters returned to visit me. She was very surprised at what she saw. Orange dragonflies were flying around the yard. Honeybees buzzed among the flowers and birds sang beautiful songs. She used to be worried I would be in a bad mood. But now she realized everything was in a good order. Seeing this, she said it looks as if her father was always with us.

注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
2.请在答题卡的相应位置作答。
The days grew warmer and lighter, and I started the work myself.
