You must have heard of “city or not city”, an Internet buzzword(流行语) created by an American blogger(博主). It’s used to ask if a place is like a big, modern city.
“China Travel” has become a key to boosting views for many overseas bloggers re-
cently. The visa-free transit policy(过境免签政策) plays an important role in it. Trav-elers from 54 eligible(符合条件的) countries can stay in China for up to ten days without a visa(签证) as long as they have a travel document and a connecting ticket to leave.
The visa-free transit policy started in 2013. At that time, travelers could only stay for 72 hours in several big cities in China. Now, travelers can stay for up to 240 hours in 60
places across 24 provinces. It has attracted more and more travelers to China.

Seeing is believing. Through this policy, more and more people get to see the real China.
“This is the whole reason why we decided to come to China—we wanted to see exactly what it’s like for ourselves,” said Luke, an Irish traveler. He thought Chengdu was “fantastic, beautiful and modern”, totally different from what he had heard about China from Western
media.
Yutian, a Chinese blogger, studied 100 China travel videos made by foreigners. She
found foreigners used to visit famous places like the Great Wall and the Summer Palace. But now they prefer experiencing everyday activities like shopping at markets, riding shared bikes
and joining in square dancing in parks. These activities give foreigners a closer look at every-day life in China.
