教学过程
1. Lead - in (5 minutes)
Show students some pictures about modern digital life, such as people using smartphones to pay, riding shared bikes, and shopping online. Then ask students: "What can you see in these pictures? How do these things affect our life?" Encourage students to share their ideas freely.
Play a short video about digital life around the world, including different digital payment methods in various countries. After watching, ask students to briefly describe what they have seen in the video.
2. Vocabulary Presentation (10 minutes)
Present the key words and phrases related to digital life on the PPT one by one. Explain the meaning, pronunciation, and usage of each word or phrase. For example, when teaching "digital payment", show pictures of people using Alipay or WeChat Pay, and explain how convenient it is.
Let students read the words and phrases after the teacher several times to practice pronunciation. Then divide students into pairs and ask them to practice using these words and phrases to make sentences. For example, one student says: "I often make digital payments when I buy things." The other student responds with another sentence like: "I used a shared bike app to find a bike yesterday." Walk around the classroom to monitor and offer help if necessary.
3. Text Learning (15 minutes)
Present a short text about a person's digital life experience in a foreign country on the PPT. The text can include difficulties in using digital payment, problems with online shopping delivery, etc. Let students read the text silently for the first time and try to get the general idea. Then ask students some general questions, such as "Where did the story happen?" "What was the main problem the person faced?"
Let students read the text again carefully. This time, ask them to find out key sentences and phrases related to digital life problems. After that, ask several students to share the sentences they found, and write them on the blackboard. Analyze these sentences together, explain the language points, especially the usage of the infinitive as the object complement in these sentences. For example, in the sentence "I asked the shopkeeper to show the QR code.", explain that "to show the QR code" is the object complement, indicating what the shopkeeper was asked to do.
Let students read the text aloud together, paying attention to pronunciation, intonation, and the usage of language points.
4. Group Discussion (10 minutes)
Divide students into groups of 4 - 5. Give each group a topic related to digital life, such as "The advantages and disadvantages of digital payment", "How digital technology changes our communication", or "The future of digital life". Ask each group to discuss the topic, using the vocabulary, sentence patterns, and ideas they have learned in this class. Encourage students to express their own views and support their opinions with examples.
Walk around the classroom, participate in students' discussions, and offer guidance and help when necessary. After the discussion, ask each group to choose a representative to give a short presentation in front of the class. The representative should summarize the group's discussion results, using clear language and correct grammar.
5. Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
Summarize the key points of this class, including important vocabulary, sentence patterns, and the grammar of the infinitive as the object complement. Review the main ideas of digital life discussed in class.
Assign homework:
Ask students to write a short passage (about 80 - 100 words) about their own digital life experience. They should use at least 5 key words and phrases and 2 sentence patterns learned in this class.
Let students search for more information about digital life, such as new digital products or emerging digital services, and be ready to share it in the next class.
教学反思
In this class, through various teaching methods such as picture - showing, video - playing, text - learning, and group - discussion, students showed great interest in the topic of digital life. Most students actively participated in class activities, mastered key vocabulary and sentence patterns, and were able to express their views on digital life to some extent.
However, there are still some areas for improvement. In the grammar teaching part, although the usage of the infinitive as the object complement was explained with examples, some students still had difficulties in using it correctly in their own sentences. In the future, more practice exercises and real - life examples can be provided to help students better understand and master this grammar point.
During the group discussion, some students were a bit shy and did not actively contribute their ideas. In the following classes, more efforts should be made to create a more relaxed and supportive atmosphere, encourage these students to express themselves, and gradually improve their speaking and thinking abilities.
