◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet students as usual.
2.Show some students’ pictures and ask students to introduce the students in the pictures.
Step 2 Work on A
1.Ask students to read Millie’s introductions about her new friends Kitty and Amy.
2.Ask students to circle the correct words in the table and check the answers.
3.The teacher explains the new words and phrases in the passages.
Step 3 Work on B
1.Let students scan the conversation first and then play the recording.
2.Ask students to listen to the conversation between Millie and her mum twice and complete the sentences in B.
3.Check the answers and explain the difficult points.
4.Ask students to listen to the recording again.
Step 4 Work on C
1.Ask students to look at the conversation in C and understand the conversation.
2.Play the recording and ask students to notice the pronunciation.
3.Invite four pairs to role⁃play the conversation.
4.Ask students to work in groups of three to greet and introduce each other.
5.Invite some students to show their conversations.
Step 5 Work on D(D1-D3)
Guide students to write the self⁃introduction according to the following steps.
1.Work on D1
(1)Ask students to look at Daniel’s information in D1 and complete the table with their own information.
(2)Ask some students to share their own information.
2.Work on D2
(1)Ask students to read Daniel’s self⁃introduction.Pay attention to how he introduces himself.
(2)Ask students to underline some words and structures that can be used for their own self⁃introductions.
3.Work on D3
(1)Ask students to look at the useful expressions.
(2)Lead students to write their own self⁃introductions based on their information in D1.Use Daniel’s self⁃introduction as a model.
(3)Walk around and give some support.Then invite some students to read theirs out and give some advice.

本课时的教学主要是对学生的英语综合能力进行训练,将听、说、读、写有机地结合在一起,在讲解的时候不必拘泥于教材内容,可以适当补充一些跟教材内容相关的语言材料,为听力与口语考试做好准备。在写作练习中,也可以组织自评自改活动,以提高学生自纠的能力。

1.Ask students to look at some nicknames for popular English names.Then let students know the meaning.
