T：What do you want to do on your birthday？ S1：I want to... T：How do you want to celebrate it？ S1：I want to... Step 2 Work on 3a 1.Let the students read the sentences in 3a and circle the question words. 2.Guide the students to understand the usage of when，how old，what，how much and how many. Step 3 Work on 3b 1.Ask the students to fill in the blanks with the question words in the box and match the questions with the answers. 2.Let some pairs read out their conversations.Then check the answers. 3.Let the students read them together. 4.Ask them to practise the conversations.Invite some pairs to act them out. Step 4 Work on 3c 1.Ask the students to read the passage in 3c and underline the dates of the special birthdays. 2.Encourage several students to share their answers and check the answers. 3.Ask the students if they know any other special birthdays and have several students share what they know.
