一、过去进行时

 

when与while

1) “当……的时候”,如后面连接的动词为进行时态,则用while多于用when。when可与瞬间性动词或延续性不强的动词连用，while多与延续性动词连用。

2) 如果while前后的动词都是进行时态,则while可译为“与此同时”。

I was reading while my brother was drawing.

3) 当while前后的句子描述的情况相对或相反时,while可译为“然而”。
