Unit1 Meeting new people How do we greet new people Part A let's talk Text analysis What:This lesson presents a dialogue that Zhang Peng and Amy Green meet each other and introduce themselves and ask where they came from. Why:The dialogue is based on students' interests levels,guiding them to learn greeting expressions and explore more about each other. How:The dialogue appears in a picture form .Which is very suitable for Grade 3 students.It includes common greeting vocabulary and sentence patterns for introducing oneself and asking about others. Learning objectives Language Competence:Students will be able to greet and introduce themselves in English and understand and respond to simple English dialogues. Learning Ability:Students will learn new expressions by observing and imitating,improving their communication skills through interactive activities. Sing a song 2.Present some pictures to review the characters in last semester.“Today we have two new friends.Who are they?” 3.Look at the screen and answer the questions. The boy's name is Zhang Peng. The girl's name is Amy Green. Presentation Activity1 Watch and fill Students watch the video and answer the question. Then play a game to review the sentence pattern we have learned:“What's your name?My name is...I'm... ” Activity2.Listen and fill Play the audio and try to fill in blanks. Teach the core sentence structure“Where are you from?”"I’m from…" Then teach the two words:“the UK”、“Shandong,China”. And introduce the UK and Shandong,China with a video. Then practice the sentence structure with a game. Practice Activity 1 Listen and imitate Let students listen to the dialogue and follow it, focusing on pronunciation and intonation. Activity 2 Role play Let students role-play the dialogue in pairs or Small groups.The teacher provides feedback on students' pronunciation,sentence structure,and creativity,with students self-assessing and peer-assessing as well. Consolidation Activity 1 Pair work Discuss the topic of “How do we great new people?”Students can ask the name,hometown,age.…and make a pair work.
