III. Teaching Procedures
Learning activities:
Step 1 Reading & Answering (Activity A)
Read about Chinese homes
T: Simon is working on a project about homes around China. Read it and answer the questions below.
Ask Ss to read the descriptions of seaside, mountain, and grasslands homes. Then answer: “Where can you see a bamboo house?” (In a mountain area of the south - west of China) and “What do you like about each kind of house above? Why?”. Invite Ss to share answers.
Step 2 Listening & Completing (Activity B)
Listen to students' introductions
T: Simon is listening to three students' introductions about their homes. Listen with him and complete the notes below.
Play the audio. Ask Ss to fill in the blanks about Li Yan, Yu Tao, and Hu Lan's home lives (e.g., Li Yan goes fishing with father, goes swimming; Yu Tao lives on second floor, reads books; Hu Lan has 50 sheep, rides horse). Then check answers.
Step 3 Pair Work: Discussing Living Places (Activity C)
Talk about preferred living places
T: Amy and Sandy are talking about where they would like to live. Work in pairs and talk about the topic. Use the conversation below as a model.
Divide Ss into pairs. Ask them to practice the model conversation, then talk about their own preferred living places (e.g., “Where would you like to live? I’d like to live by the seaside. Why? Because I love the beach...”). Walk around to help with vocabulary and sentence structures. Then invite some pairs to share.
Step 4 Completing Questionnaire (Activity D1)
Fill in dream home questionnaire
T: The Class 1, Grade 7 students are writing about their dream homes. Complete the questionnaire below with your own information.
Ask Ss to fill in the questionnaire about where they'd like to live, home type, features, family members to live with, and family activities. Collect and review some questionnaires.

Ask Ss to read the article, identify the structure and useful expressions.
Step 6 Writing Dream Home Article (Activity D3)
