I. Teaching Objectives
Master the names of the festivals in the activity and related background knowledge.
Understand the conversations about favorite festivals, extract key information, and use the sentence patterns to talk about festivals with partners.

III. Teaching Procedures
Learning activities:
Step 1 Lead - in
Show a picture of colorful fireworks (as in the textbook).
T: What can you see in the picture? Invite Ss to share answers. Then say: Fireworks are often seen in festivals. Festivals are a window to different cultures. Today, let's learn about some festivals around the world.
Step 2 Pre - task
Show the pictures in activity A.
T: Look at these pictures. Can you guess what festivals they are? Let's try to write the names of the festivals in the blanks.
Step 3 While - task
Work on Activity A
T: The Class 1, Grade 7 students are learning about some popular festivals around the world. Now look at the pictures and write the names of the festivals.
Ask Ss to finish the task and then check the answers together.
Work on Activity B
T: Millie is chatting online with her friend in Scotland, Robin, about their favourite festivals. Now let's listen to their conversation and then work in pairs to talk about your favourite festivals using the conversation as a model.
Play the audio (if available) or read the conversation with Ss. Then ask Ss to practice in pairs.
Step 4 Post - task
Work on Activity C
T: What other festivals do you know? Think of a festival and talk about how people celebrate it with your partner.
Ask some pairs to share their conversations in front of the class.
IV. Assessment of Teaching Effectiveness
Assess Ss' mastery of festival names and related customs by observing their answers in Activity A and conversations in Activities B and C.
Observe whether Ss can actively recall and talk about different festivals, showing their cultural knowledge.
Evaluate learning outcomes by:
Checking the accuracy of festival names in Activity A.

However, some Ss might need more practice in using accurate words to describe festival customs. In the future, more vocabulary practice related to festivals can be added.
