In order to save Mexican axolotls, the Mexican government (政府) hoped people could virtually adopt (云领养) them.

The Mexican axolotl has a strange 　1　. It has a long body, short legs and a long tail. It can regrow almost any lost body part. Some scientists think the information could provide a (n) 　2　 to some medical (医学的) problems. The 　3　 news is that the number of axolotls is dropping greatly these years. In 1998, there were about 6,000 axolotls per square kilometre in Lake Xochimilco. In 2014, there were only about 36. “Axolotls are in great danger,” said Luis Zambrano. “If we don’t take 　4　 right now, they will die out soon.”

The 　5　 danger to axolotls comes from humans. Mexico City’s growing population causes less and less living space for axolotls. Besides, water pollution (污染) makes axolotls 　6　. What’s worse, in the water, some fish eat axolotl eggs.

Thanks to the online game Minecraft, axolotls are enjoying more 　7　 than ever. Now there is a huge need for axolotls in pet stores. Zambrano hopes that will be 　8　 in saving axolotls. Last year, his team carried out an activity to virtually adopt axolotls. They hoped people could provide 　9　 for axolotls.

“We know the 　10　 of doing that. And we know what to do and where to do it,” Zambrano said. “But if people don’t care much, it doesn’t matter what we know.”

Hey, did you ever see Siberian tigers? They are the 　1　 of all tigers. They can grow up to 1.8-2.7 meres long. And guess what? Their 　2　 can reach up to 300-600 pounds (磅).

These amazing tigers live in the northeast of China, the Russian Far East and parts of North Korea. There are many mountains and forests there, and not many 　3　 visit these places.

An adult Siberian tiger needs to eat at least 9 kilograms of food every day. They mainly feed on wild animals like pigs, fish and rabbits. When they are hunting, they can run 　4　 than 50 miles (英里) per hour.

But now, there’s 　5　 news. The number of Siberian tigers is dropping greatly. They make much fewer 　6　 in mountains and forests these days. In fact, scientists say there are only around 400 to 500 Siberian tigers left in the world.

What can we do? First of all, the government should try its best to provide 　7　 for them. For example, the government should make strong laws (法律) to stop people from cutting down trees and hunting tigers. As average people, each of us should also understand the 　8　 of protecting animals. Remember, all living things on the planet are 　9　. To protect animals is to protect ourselves. Let’s take 　10　 before it is too late.

One morning, little Mia ran to the kitchen, excited for breakfast. “Mum, we don’t have

enough honey at home,” she said, feeling very 　1　.

Mum thought for a while and said, “The bees aren’t visiting enough flowers these days, and their number is 　2　.”

That afternoon, Mia’s teacher told the class some facts about bees. They are one of the 　3　 animals in nature! They visit 50 to 100 flowers on one trip and take 　4　 with them. This helps plants grow. “Without bees, the delicious apples will 　5　. Also, we might not see chocolate anymore,” the teacher said. At this moment, Mia realized people, plants and animals are all 　6　.

After school, Mia searched for more information about bees online. She learned that bees are one of the 　7　 insects. They build six - sided homes called honeycombs. They do special dances to tell others about the place of food — the most interesting way to 　8　 without words.

That evening, Mia and Dad planted flowers in their garden. Weeks later, Mia smiled as she ate 　9　. “Listen!” she said. “Some bees are visiting our garden!” 　“Thank you, little bees,” Mia said, full of 　10　. “You’re the most wonderful workers in the world!”
