Possible Version One:
Practice makes perfect
Have you heard about the saying“Practice makes perfect”? In my understanding, it tells us that if you want to do something well, you should work hard and practice more, or you can't get a prefect result.
When I was in Grade 7, I was not that good at Eng-lish. In order to improve it, I made full use of every mi-nute to read English novels, listen to English songs, or write English diaries. I practiced so hard that one year later, my English was at the top in my class.
In a word, the more you practice, the better you are.Just as the saying goes“Practice makes perfect”.

Then, his parents gave him a spider as a birthday gift. “I couldn't be more surprised!” Xia remembered. Keeping a spider has given him a very different experience.
Xia’ s spider is a Brazilian salmon(所罗门) pink bird-eating tarantula(食鸟蛛). “Bird-eaters are one of the most popular kinds of pet spiders, mainly because of their beautiful colored hairs and big size—— they can grow up to 22 centimeters long!” said Xia.
What's even better is that the owner can clearly watch and record the spider's growing process——every time it molts(蜕皮), it grows one to two centimeters bigger. Xia has seen it growing from 3 cm long to 10 cm now.
“Every two to three months, the spider grows so big that its old skin cannot hold its body anymore. After breaking from the old skin, the spider still takes in nutrition(营养) from it. The first time it molted, I took away the old skin, which almost killed my spider. I felt so guilty,” Xia said. The molting process might be a spider’ s weakest moment. Most of the time it is alert(警觉的), quick and strong.
“The spider is so cool! It moves quickly. And it's determined(坚定的),” said Xia. “Cats play with me. Turtles stay with me, but I think I see an ideal(理想的) me in the spider—— that's what makes it so special.”

Is it possible to be born shy? Many scientists say yes. They say 15 to 20 percent of babies behave shyly. These babies are a little quieter and more watchful than other babies. Interestingly, these shy babies usually have shy parents. As a result, scientists think that some shyness is genetic(遗传).
