The Fox and the Grapes
One hot summer’s day, a fox was walking through the woods.
“I’m so tired, hungry, and thirsty. I can’t take another step. Is there anything to eat?”
The fox found a bunch of grapes from a vine.
“Bounce! Bounce! One more time! Bounce! Bounce!”
The fox jumped with all her might, but couldn’t reach the grapes.
“Why are they hanging so high? There might be some grapes a little lower over there. Oh, ouch. That hurts. Why am I wearing myself out? Those grapes are not worth it! I’m sure they are sour. I’d rather be hungry than eating a bunch of sour grapes.”
The fox walked away and never looked back.

Put it on, please.
Not at all.
Ms. Black worked in an office yesterday.
There is a football under it.
Could you help me, please?
Those are not worth it!
How to read better?
I will be glad / to meet you again / next year.
Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, happy, and wise.
Early to bed/ and early to rise/ makes a man/ healthy, happy, and wise.
There might be some grapes a little lower over there.
There might be some grapes /a little lower/ over there.
How to read better?
The course was more difficult than she had expected, but she got a lot out of it.
How to read better?
降调表示说话人的态度肯定、意思完整、语法结构独立;
升调表示说话人的态度不肯定、意思不完整、语法结构不独立;
