I. Warm - up (5 minutes)
Discussion:
Ask students the question: “What is the most unforgettable thing in your junior high school? Share your thoughts briefly.”
Invite 2 - 3 students to share their answers to activate prior knowledge.
Picture Talk:
Show the pictures in 1a.
Ask students: “What can you see in these pictures? What do these pictures remind you of about junior high school?”
II. Listening Activities (15 minutes)
Pre - Listening (Predicting):
Have students look at 1a and read the list of memories and experiences.
Ask: “Which of these do you think will be mentioned in the listening? Make a prediction.”
While - Listening (Task Completion):
1b Listening:
Play the audio for 1b.
Students check the things they remember doing in junior high school.
Check answers by asking a few students to share their choices.
1c Listening:
Play the audio for 1c.
Students match the memory with the person.
Have students compare answers in pairs first, then check as a class.
Post - Listening (Discussion):
Ask students: “Which memory do you think is the most special? Why?”
Let students discuss in small groups and then share in class.
III. Speaking Practice (15 minutes)
Controlled Practice (Dialogue Building):
Use the sample dialogue in 1c as a model.
Have students practice in pairs, using the memories and experiences from 1a.
Example:
A: “I remember scoring two goals in a row during a soccer competition. What about you?”
B: “I remember meeting this group of friends in Grade 7.”
Walk around to monitor and correct pronunciation and grammar.
Freer Practice (Role - Play):
Scenario: Students role - play conversations about junior high school memories and teachers they miss, referring to 2a, 2b and 2d.
Example:
A: “Do you remember Mr. Hunt? He was a great teacher.”
B: “Of course! He gave really clear instructions during P.E. class.”
A: “Which teachers will you miss the most after junior high school?”
B: “I will miss Ms. Griffin. She encouraged me in English class.”
Select a few pairs to perform in front of the class.
IV. Summary (5 minutes)
Think - Pair - Share:
Ask students: “What have you learned from today's class? What new words or phrases about junior high school memories have you mastered?”
Let students discuss in pairs and then share with the class.
Teacher Summary:
