Warm - up & Museum Recall (7 mins) Daily Question Ask students: “From 1c, which museum did you talk about? What did you say? ” Let 3 - 4 students share, e.g., “I talked about the space museum – said I haven’t been, but want to go.” Lead - in to 2a Say: “Today we’ll listen to find places on a map (2a), check experience facts (2b), and practice conversations (2c, 2d).” II. 2a Activity – Listening for Town Places (12 mins) Pre - listening Show 2a map (town with streets, museums, parks). Tell students: “Listen and circle places you hear (e.g., space museum, amusement park).” While - listening Play 2a audio. Students circle places (e.g., space museum, amusement park). Post - listening Check answers: “Circled space museum, amusement park, subway – correct! These are key places in the conversations.” III. 2b Activity – Fact - Checking Conversations (15 mins) Pre - listening Show 2b T/F statements. Tell students: “Listen again to check if conversations are true or false.” While - listening Play 2b audio. Students mark T/F: Conversation 1: F (Tina went to space museum last year? No – check audio) T (John never been to space museum) T (take subway) Conversation 2: T (Linda been to amusement park) F (went yesterday? No) T (go by bike) Conversation 3: T (Frank had great time at water park) F (friend never been? No) F (going skating? No) Post - listening Pair - check. Walk around to explain: “Conversation 3 – Frank’s friend has been to the water park, so statement 2 is false.” IV. 2c Activity – Map - Based Conversations (10 mins) Instruction Show 2c sample dialogue: “A: Have you ever been to the space museum? B: Yes... ”. Tell students: “Use the 2a map to make conversations about places. Include how to get there.” Student Activity Pairs practice, e.g.: A: Have you ever been to the amusement park? B: No, I haven’t. How about you? A: Me neither. Let’s go tomorrow by bike! Walk around to encourage: “Add details – ‘The amusement park is on Green Street, near the river.’ ” V. 2d Activity – Role - play (8 mins) Instruction Show 2d conversation (Anna & Jill about film museum, camping). Tell students: “Role - play this dialogue. Pay attention to present perfect (e.g., ‘Have you ever been there? ’).” Student Activity Groups of 2 practice. Walk around to correct pronunciation: “‘camping’ – /ˈkæmpɪŋ/, ‘inventions’ – /ɪnˈvenʃnz/.” Invite 1 - 2 groups to perform. Praise: “Good use of ‘I’ve never been camping’ – natural!” VI. Summary & Homework (5 mins) Summary Recap key points: 2a: Identified town places via listening. 2b: Checked T/F on conversations. 2c: Made map - based conversations. 2d: Role - played past experience dialogue. Write on the board: Key Structure: Present Perfect for Experiences “Have you ever been to...? ” “Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t. ” Homework (1) Write 3 new conversations about 2a places (use different transport: subway, bike, walk).
