Understand how travel and classroom learning contribute to geography knowledge, supporting High school entrance examination - style cause - effect analysis.
Collaborate in groups to research and present a country/place of interest, enhancing High school entrance examination teamwork and information - communication skills.
II. Key Points & Difficulties
Key Points
Geography - Learning Methods:

III. Teaching Methods
Task - Based Learning (TBL): Through country - ticking, T/F questions, blank - filling, and country - research projects.
Travel - vs. - Classroom Debate: Discussing which method (travel or class) teaches geography better.
Collaborative Learning: Group work for country - fact research, emphasizing peer feedback on clarity and accuracy.
IV. Teaching Aids
CAI (world - geography maps, vocabulary - definition animations, country - research templates).
Textbook, worksheets, and “Geography - Term Cards” (with words like population, island for discussion).
V. Teaching Procedures
Step 1: Warm - up – Dream Travel Destinations (5 mins)
Discuss the THINK ABOUT IT questions:
What places would you like to visit? Why? (E.g., “Japan—to see cherry blossoms and learn about anime culture.”)
Do you like to study geography? Why or why not? (E.g., “Yes—learn about different countries’ landscapes and cultures.”)
Share: Invite 3–4 students to share. Write down keywords: geography, travel, places, learn.

Teach words with context examples:
population: “China has a large population.”
island: “Taiwan is an island in the Pacific.”

Answers:
population
