While ChatGPT successfully answered a variety of questions raised by testers, some
responses were noticeably off.In fact,Stack Overflow-a Q&.A website for coders and
programmers-didn't allow users to share information from ChatGPT,saying that it's
"harmful to the site and to users who are asking or looking for correct answers."
Beyond the issue of spreading incorrect information, the tool could also be used to explain
problematic thoughts, and as with all AI tools, spread biases()based on the pool of data
on which it's trained.Typing something involving a CEO,for example,could prompt()a
response assuming that the individual is white and male, for example.
"While we've made efforts to make the model refuse unsuitable requests,it will
sometimes respond to harmful instructions or exhibit biased behavior,"OpenAI,the company
that created ChatGPT,said on its website."We're using the Moderation API to warn or stop
certain types of unsafe content, but it still has some false negatives and positives for now.
We're eager to collect user feedback()to aid our ongoing work to improve this system.
Still,Lian Jye Su,a research director at market research company ABI Research, warns
the chatbot is operating "without understanding the context of the language.
“It is very easy for ChatGPT to give plausible-sounding(听起来合理的)but incorrect or
senseless answers,"he said."It guessed when it was supposed to explain and sometimes
responded to harmful instructions or exhibited biased behavior. It also lacks regional and
country-specific understanding."
While ChatGPT is free,it does put a limit on the number of questions a user can raise
before having to pay. When Elon Musk,a co-founder of OpenAl,recently asked Altman on
Twitter about the average cost per ChatGPT chat,Altman said:"We will have to monetize(
币化)it somehow at some point;the compute costs are eye-watering.”
1.Why does the author mention Stack Overflow?
A.To show how narrow-minded it is.
B.To illustrate the negative influence of ChatGPT.
C.To reveal the competition it has with ChatGPT.
D.To indicate ChatGPT's strong ability in problem solving.
2.What is Paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.The efforts OpenAI makes for improvement.
B.The reason for the use of Moderation API.
C.The problem OpenAl is now facing.
D.The success in solving OpenAI's problem.
3.Why does ChatGPT have problems?
A.It does not understand human language.
B.It mainly works through guessing.
C.It cannot respond properly based on contexts.
D.It holds bias on some specific regions.
4.What does the word "eye-watering"in the last paragraph most probably mean?
A.Extremely high.
B.Very harmful.
C.Quite necessary.
D.Too average.

Some calves are born optimistic or pessimistic(悲观的),just as humans are, anew
University of British Columbia study has found."Sometimes we intend to see only the herd(),
even though this herd consists of different individuals who cope differently with stressful events,"
said Professor Marina von Keyserlingk."It's important to consider from the individual's
perspective, because even if conditions are good,on average, some animals may still suffer."
To know about optimism and pessimism, the researchers set up an experiment involving
22 calves. Before they started the experiment, they trained the calves to understand which of
their choices would lead to a reward. In the training, each calf entered a small pen()and
found a wall with five holes arranged in a horizontal line, two and a half feet apart. The hole
at one end contained milk from a bottle, while the hole at the opposite end contained only an
empty bottle and delivered a puff of air in calves'faces. The calves learned quickly which side
of the pen held the milk reward.
Once calves were trained, researchers presented bottles in one of the three intermediate
(holes,so that calves couldn't be sure if they would be rewarded with milk. The
researchers predicted that the most optimistic calves would approach the bottle even if it was
positioned close to the location that earlier gave them an empty bottle. In contrast, the most
pessimistic calves would avoid approaching a bottle in the intermediate holes, even if it was
close to the rewarded location.
The calves varied in their responses, but individual calves remained consistent()in
their outlook and made similar choices three weeks apart.Researchers concluded that
pessimism was a consistent individual quality, not just the result of temporary moods or
emotions.
1.What can we know about calves according to Marina von Keyserlingk?
A.They don't understand anything.
B.They can't get on well with each other.
C.Some of them feel stressful sometimes.
D.Their living conditions should be improved.
2.What did the researchers do before the experiment?
A.They trained the calves.
B.They attended the calves carefully.
C.They divided the calves into two groups.
D.They tried to teach the calves to find the bottle.
3.Why did the optimistic calves come to the intermediate holes?
A.They were interested in the holes.B.They liked the bottle at one end.
C.They couldn't find the other holes.D.They wanted to get the bottle with milk.
4.How does the author mainly develop this passage?
A.By making comparison.
B.By introducing an experiment.
C.By providing some examples.
D.By following the order of the importance.

Jackie Rodriguez gained 30 kilograms after her first child 1 (bear)."I was very
unhappy, but I stayed like that for two years,"she says. Then, when her daughter was two,she
dropped all the weight with 2 (practice)no effort.
The transformation had nothing to do with 3 Rodriguez ate.Rather,it began when
she started a new job that shook up her 4 (day)routine.Working in the office of a DI hire
company, she started her shift at 5:30 pm.Instead of 5 (share)dinner with her husband
at nine when he got home from his job as a superintendent, she ate alone at five, before she
dropped her child with a babysitter and went to work.
Night work often leads 6 weight gain,so Rodriguez's story might seem to be a quirk
of 7 particular physique().But unlike many such workers,Rodriguez clocked out by
11:00 p.m.and got a regular night's sleep.Perhaps even more importantly,she didn't eat at
work or when she got home-just 8 (shower)and went to bed.
Rodriguez's main adjustment was moving dinnertime almost four hours 9 (early).
That single, simple change seems to have made her dramatic weight loss-and 10
(emerge)scientific evidence may explain why.

When you have finally finished writing and you have edited your work so that it is as
polished()as possible, you might wonder what your next step is.Well, writing does not
have to be a private activity:in fact, there are plenty of people who would be excited to read
your work! Therefore, publication is an important step in your writing career. It will help you
gain confidence in your abilities and receive feedback from a larger group of people
If you feel a little bit nervous about sharing your work with a huge crowd,a great place to
begin is with your friends and family. That way,you won't have to worry about opinions from
strangers.Your friends and family care about you,so you should definitely feel confident with
their reading your work first.Simply print them a copy or send it digitally. After receiving
their reviews, you might tend to share your work with a larger audience. If this is the case,
try self-publishing or sending your writing to a magazine.
Self-publishing is the easiest way to cast your work into the world. There are numerous
websites that allow you to post anything you have written for an online audience.Resources
like wattpad.com and storystreetlabs.com are existing websites that allow you to publish
anything in your own account. You can receive likes and comments from others, too.Other
websites, like tumblr.com and deviantart.com are open blog websites that host more content
than just creative writing.
While some websites allow you to publish anything, others carefully consider
submissions.A great example of this type of publication is Amazing Kids Magazine, which
publishes works by kids in every monthly issue.Stay lively for special contests that call for
themed writing. You might even receive a prize with publication! If Amazing Kids!cannot
publish your work, don't be disheartened. There are a number of online journals that accept
submissions from kids and teenagers.Stonesoup.com,magicdragonmagazine.com,and

根据be born
4.daily
主代词her。
8.showered
9.earlier
l0.emerging考查现在分词修饰名词。
