When Mrs. White happily told the class about a trip to the Opera House for a ballet performance, the classroom was full of excitement. As the star player on the soccer team, he wasn’t that into ballet because in his mind ballet was only for girls.
However, the next morning, when the class entered the Opera House, Peter was amazed by how big and beautiful it was. As they sat down, the ballet dancers’ smooth movements and beautiful poses caught his attention. He had never thought much about ballet before, but then he could see the skill and beauty in it.

During battles, Yue Fei always put himself in danger to protect his army. After many successful fights, he refused any prize or reward. He always said, “A general serves his country, not himself.”

Though Yue Fei did nothing wrong, the emperor killed him in the end. Luckily, other generals still followed Yue Fei’s will and continued Yue Fei’s fight. At last they saved the country.
About the actors
Some of China’s leading Peking Opera actors and actresses play the main roles of this opera. For example, Yu Kuizhi plays Yue Fei.
About the Peking Opera faces
Actors in this show wear different colors and patterns on their faces to show the roles’ characters. Red faces mean being brave and faithful. The black face shows someone who is rude and brave, or someone who is fair and selfless. They are always fighting for fairness and bravely punish the powerful who are against the laws (法律). A white face tells us a character is dishonest and good at using tricks to get what he wants. Blue or green faces are for brave soldiers, outlaws or fighters. According to its own research, around 65% of school students were not finishing their milk bottles at lunch. This caused food waste and students might miss out on important nutrients like vitamins.
For a parent, getting kids to eat healthy food is almost considered to be the most difficult thing in the world. Luckily, this milk company came up with a creative way to encourage children to finish their milk bottles.
The company teamed up with a comic workshop to create an interesting comic series. The comic is printed on the bottle in white paint, so it can only be read after the bottle is emptied of milk. Basically, the more they drink, the more comic stories can be seen. And the milk bottles tell stories in order. It makes kids wonder what will happen next, so they have to drink more milk.
Ingredients on the bottles are changed into playful characters. For example butter looks like a scared ghost and other animals are all afraid of it. Ice is a lovely girl and cheese acts as a monster-looking character. Cream appears in the air as a sweet lady with a flying umbrella. With fun characters like these, children may have to collect milk bottles to read more and fully learn about them.
Though children don’t have to finish the milk only to get the comic on the bottles, this company still provides a great idea to solve this difficult problem. After all, there are more and more empty milk bottles.

Have you ever got a bad grade in your biochemistry test? Does this make you think it’s impossible for you to become a great doctor in the future? Or do you want to ask your future self how you can succeed?
Now, an AI tool called Future You might help find these answers. Harvard student Peggy is part of a team that designed the AI chatting robot Future You, a tool that helps users “see” their future. “Through talking with AI, Future You allows people to explore different possibilities of their future,” Peggy explains. “It shows possible futures that feel real and encouraging.”
Peggy also worked with a psychology (心理) scientist. This scientist’s research is about the psychology behind Future You: an idea called future self-connection. It means how close you feel to your future self. When people feel strongly connected, they believe they can become the person they want to be. For example, when you feel down, you can talk with Future You. After chatting with this wiser self, you may be more willing to go after your goals and worry less about your future. You will also be more careful about your choices, as you understand that choices you make today will make a difference tomorrow.
There are three key steps to create a Future You. First, tell your story. To do this, you are going to answer questions about who you are, what your life is like now, and what you want to do in the future. This information helps Future You better understand you, so it can create a 60-year-old future self. Second, you send a picture of yourself and it can show you a picture of what you might look like at 60. Finally, you can start a conversation.
Now, are you ready to meet a Future You?
37. According to the scientist’s research, what may happen after people use Future You?
A. They won’t care about present problems.
B. They will choose to achieve higher goals.
C. They will be encouraged and become less worried.
D. They’ll depend on others for decision-making.
38. According to the passage, what does “This wiser self” refer to?
A. The research to give you psychology advice.
B. The 60-year-old self created by AI.
C. The user himself or herself.
D. The AI tool to show your real future.
39. What do you need to do when creating a Future You?
A. Draw a picture of you. B. Create stories about you.
C. Give answers to some questions. D. Talk to the designers.
40. What may be the best title for the passage?
A. Talk to Your Future Self-An AI Helper. B. Harvard Students’ Latest invention.
C. Make a Difference to Your Future. D. How to create a Future You.
