Step 2 Work on A 1.Let students read Toby’s comparison of his school in the USA with Sunshine Middle School.After reading,ask them to answer the questions below. 2.Organise students to discuss in groups.Each group should summarise the main differences between the two schools and choose a representative to report to the whole class. Step 3 Work on B1 1.Let students look through the table carefully to know what information they need to fill in first. 2.Play the recording twice.The first time,students just listen.The second time,they fill in the table. 3.After that,ask students to check their answers with their partners.Then the teacher checks the answers with the whole class and explains any difficult points. Step 4 Work on B2 1.Play the recording of Toby’s phone call with his mother.Ask students to listen and complete the notes. 2.Check the answers. Step 5 Work on B3 1.Guide students to complete Toby’s diary entry according to the information in Parts B1 and B2. 2.Select some students to share their completed diary entries with the class.Encourage other students to give feedback. Step 6 Work on C 1.Play the recording of the conversation between Millie and Toby.And let students read after it. 2.Let students work in pairs and talk about the special things in their own school life based on the conversation between Millie and Toby. 3.Walk around the classroom to listen to their conversations and offer help if necessary. 4.Invite some pairs to present their conversations.
