分析故事情节一般从故事六要素着手,即who, when, where, what, why, how。 I needed to do something in my community (社区) in order to complete the community service hours required to graduate from high school. Some of my friends had signed up to spend time at a soup kitchen, so I did, too. It seemed like a good thing to do. I thought that we would just be passing out dinners to those in need, but I found out we would be doing everything from preparing to serving the dinner. We began preparing the food, from mixing salad dressing to separating frozen meat. Much still needed to be done before dinner was served, but already outside the building many homeless people were gathering. It wasn’t until a couple of hours later that we opened the doors and began serving dinner. As the line of people came toward me, I got a little scared. I’d come face to face with the homeless: How should I act? How would they treat me? Would they hate me for having more than they did? While some of the people looked very friendly, some of them looked so dangerous. I didn’t have too much time to worry about it. I was assigned (分配) to serve the salad with the lady next to me. She smiled at me and said if I needed help, she’d be right there, which I found quite comforting. I had never seen so many people wanting food. They were of all ages and nationalities. Most of them wore clothes that were torn and dirty. Some looked like they had tally given up on life, while others seemed to be making the best of the situation, smiling and joking. Some were better off than others, but they all needed a good meal and a warm place to eat. It saddened me to think of how many people there were who didn’t have a place to call home and the only food they got came from a soup kitchen. Paragraph 1: As they came in my direction, I put on my brightest and happiest smile. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: I was so happy that I had earned my service hours in this way. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第一步: 故事情节构思: Who: homeless people and me Where: at a soup kitchen When: when they began preparing the food for completing the community service Why: Think of how many people there were who didn’t have a place to call home and the only food they got came from a soup kitchen What: many homeless people were gathering before the shop opened 由第一段首句内容“As they came in my direction, I put on my brightest and happiest smile.” 2. 由第二段首句内容“I was so happy that I had earned my service hours in this way.” 高分手段 1 行为类 1 倒:pour/decant 2 意识到:realize that/be aware that 3 ③主张:urge sb. to do/advocate sb. to do 情绪类 1 感谢:gratefully/thankfully 2 急切的:anxious/eager 高分手段 2 [高分句型1] This experience made me realize that there are so many people in this world who need our help. (由that引导的宾语从句和who引导的定语从句) [高分句型2] I will never forget the way they looked at me when they were given food. As they came in my direction, I put on my brightest and happiest smile. I wanted to make them know that I was really anxious to help them. To my relief, they smiled politely back at me when they saw my smile, and I could see their exhaustion in their eyes. I wanted to know what they were going through and I was desperate to know what I could do for them. They nodded gratefully as I pushed my spoon into the pot and took a large spoonful and poured it into their bowls. I was so happy that I had earned my service hours in this way. This experience made me realize that there are so many people in this world who need our help. It also made me realize that our small act of kindness can make them feel warm and make a great difference to them. I will never forget the way they looked at me when they were given food. I am anxious to urge the world to do everything possible to help those in need. It took place in a teacher’s family. One day, Ben was playing basketball in the living room after school, when he accidentally threw the ball at a vase sitting on the shelf. The vase dropped to the floor and a large piece broke off. What made Ben more upset was that the vase was not a common decoration but an antique, which was handed down through generations from the 18th century. It was also his mother’s favourite possession. To cover his terrible action, the terrified boy glued the pieces together hastily and put the vase back to its place. As the mother herself dusted the vase every day, she naturally noticed the cracks(裂纹) that evening. To her surprise, the repair work was actually very good. At dinner time, she asked her boy if he broke the vase. Fearing punishment, the suddenly inspired boy said that a neighbour’s cat jumped in from the window and he couldn’t drive it away no matter how hard he tried. It raced around the living room and finally knocked the vase off its shelf. His mother was quite clear that her son was lying, for all the windows were closed before she left for work each morning and opened after she returned. However, in the face of her son’s nervous eyes and the suspicious looks of the other family members, Ben’s mother remained calm. She realized she shouldn’t just simply blame and punish her son for lying. She came up with another idea. Before going to bed, the boy found a note from his mother in his room, asking him to go to the study at once. The boy thought he would now be punished, but as he had already lied, he was determined to deny everything to the end, no matter how angry his mum became. In the study, calmly bathed in the light, his mother’s face showed no sign of anger. On seeing her son push open the door and cautiously enter, she took a chocolate box out of a drawer and gave him one. Paragraph 1: The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!”      Paragraph 2: Now with some chocolates in hand, the boy’s bad attitude disappeared. When One day after school (past tense) Where In Ben’s house Who The little boy Ben; his mother What Para.1: Ben broke his mother’s favourite antique vase. (He was terrified.) Para.2: The mother noticed the vase was broken and asked Ben about it, but Ben denied. Para.3: The mother asked Ben to go to the study. Para.4: The mother gave Ben a chocolate. … Theme Honesty is the best policy. The mother said, “This chocolate is a reward for your imagination: a window-opening cat!” Hearing her sincere appreciation, Ben flushed, lowered his head and muttered a thank you. Surprisingly, the mother took out another chocolate and pressed it into his hand. “This one is for the delicate repair work you did to the broken vase.” She also added that she was moved by how much the boy cherished the family possession. At these hearty remarks, Ben felt a flow of shame through his veins, and had to duck his head even lower. The mother then calmly encouraged Ben to reward himself more chocolates for any other merits he had displayed in this event. He did as was told to, confessing that he was calm when facing the accident.  Now with some chocolates in hand, the boy’s bad attitude disappeared. His palms and forehead sweating, nervousness welled up inside him. After what seemed a long time, he looked up at his mother, admitting that it was not the cat but he that had broken the vase accidentally and asked for punishment. “I’m sorry I lied to you, mum. Please take back the chocolates.” Feeling so ashamed, Ben couldn’t hold back his tears. He opened his palm wide, ready to return the chocolates. To his surprise, however, his mother placed the whole box of chocolates in his hand, smiling. “Honesty deserves the best reward, my dear.”  4 / 5 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
