When it comes to rules, I don’t have too many at home. My parents trust me a lot. They know I have a good set of moral (道德的) values and that I won’t do anything crazy. But that doesn’t mean I’m completely free to do whatever I want. Most of the rules that I have are about driving. When I got my driver’s license (驾照), my parents made some rules to keep me safe. I was required to tell them where I was going, who I was with and when I’d be home. Another rule was making sure I had only one passenger in the car. In my opinion, there is no need to set too many rules for teenagers. This only results in more disagreements in the parent-child relationship. Over the years, I’ve noticed that my friends with stricter parents are more likely to have a terrible relationship. I’m lucky to have parents who not only trust me but also care about my safety. They don’t smother (使窒息) me with rules, but talk to me about the things I should and shouldn’t do. That way, I know how to stay out of trouble and make good choices. But I’m not saying that a lack (缺乏) of rules for teens works for everyone. Being free doesn’t mean you can do anything without thinking about the results. But don’t smother your kids with family rules and results. Talking through the results of their actions has a better chance of keeping your kids out of trouble. So, though I don’t have lots of rules, I still know what’s right and wrong. And that’s what’s important. 1.Lisa’s parents don’t set too many rules for her because ________. A.they don’t want to control her B.they want her to live a free life C.they believe she is a good girl D.they are busy raising other children 2.Which of the following rules must Lisa follow? A.Don’t drive alone. B.Choose friends carefully. C.Always carry the driver’s license. D.Share her return time with her parents. 3.What does the underlined word “This” refer to? A.Being wise parents. B.Keeping kids out of trouble. C.Setting too many rules for teenagers. D.Having a good set of moral values. 4.According to Lisa, parents can help their kids avoid getting into trouble by ________. A.giving their kids more freedom B.making stricter family rules C.telling them the results of their actions D.letting their kids make their own decisions 5.What’s the writer’s attitude towards family rules? A.Less is more. B.The more, the better. C.Each family has its own rules. D.No family rules are the best rule. 根据“My parents trust me a lot. They know I have a good set of moral (道德的) values and that I won’t do anything crazy. But that doesn’t mean I’m completely free to do whatever I want.” 根据“I was required to tell them where I was going, who I was with and when I’d be home.” 根据“In my opinion, there is no need to set too many rules for teenagers. This only results in more disagreements in the parent-child relationship.” 根据“Talking through the results of their actions has a better chance of keeping your kids out of trouble.” 根据“So, though I don’t have lots of rules, I still know what’s right and wrong. And that’s what’s important.” Passage B(讲述浙江的一些学校鼓励孩子们学习家训) Do you know what family instructions are? They are common beliefs that family members follow. In ancient China, people passed down their family instructions from generation to generation. For example, Luyang district of Hefei has built more than 100 reading rooms in recent years, so people can enjoy the fun of reading at their doorsteps. In the UK, 3,718 libraries provide different kinds of services, including lending out books and offering a free, warm and safe space for people to go to. Some libraries make it easier to borrow books: for example, by delivering books to library users’ doorsteps. Libraries do more than house books. They provide people with other services and tools, such as computers, and create a sense of community. However, many libraries in the UK are at risk of closing because they can’t afford the cost of operating. Library fines (罚款) are carried out when people don’t return books on time. Many people in the UK believe that fines are needed because they help libraries improve services, and prevent people from returning books late. Without fines, people might be more relaxed and many more books could be returned late. After all, some books are so popular that there can be a waiting list for people who want to read it next. Libraries only work if people borrowing books return them on time, ready for other library users to enjoy. However, one third of Britain’s libraries are fine-free now. This means some library users who don’t return books by the date agreed are not charged (收费). Besides, people who don’t have much money really depend on libraries to help them save some money, not spend it. Many libraries have got rid of fines all together, which makes libraries more welcoming environments. So, should libraries stop fining people? See what we find in other countries. 1.What is paragraph 1 mainly about? A.Libraries are facing more challenges. B.Libraries are popular with young readers. C.It’s convenient for people to read nowadays. D.It’s not easy to find a place to relax after work. 2.Why are many libraries in the UK at risk of closing? A.Some people break the library rules. B.They can’t afford the cost of operating. C.They are short of books and computers. D.More community libraries have been built. 3.What’s the main idea of the passage? A.Library fines can be stressful to readers. B.Libraries need money to improve services. C.There are different views on library fines in Britain. D.People prefer reading in community reading rooms. 4.What might the author continue talking about? A.Library rules in the UK. B.Good reading habits around the UK. Passage B(讲述浙江的一些学校鼓励孩子们学习家训) Do you know what family instructions are?
