AI, or artificial intelligence (人工智能), is everywhere today! From smartphones to smart homes, AI makes our lives easier. But what exactly is AI? Think of it as a super-smart computer that can learn, solve problems, and even understand human languages. Now, let’s explore how AI helps us.
AI is like a helpful assistant in daily life. For example, voice assistants like Siri or Alexa can answer questions, set alarms, or control your home lights. They use “natural language processing” to understand what you say. In schools, AI tools help teachers grade homework faster and suggest personalized learning plans. Some apps even correct your spelling and grammar in real time!
AI also plays a big role in healthcare and education. In hospitals, AI can analyze X-rays and help doctors find diseases early. It’s also used to develop new medicines. Meanwhile, in education, AI-powered apps like Duolingo teach languages by fitting in with your learning speed. Imagine having a 24/7 tutor (家庭教师) who knows exactly what you need!
Although AI can do many things, it’s not perfect. Some people worry that it might take all jobs, like factory work or customer service. However, experts say AI will also create new jobs, like robot repair and AI programming. The key is to use AI wisely. For example, self-driving cars use AI to reduce accidents, but humans still need to monitor them.
Remember, AI is a tool—it doesn’t replace humans, but it can make our work smarter. So let’s accept AI with curiosity! By learning to use it responsibly, we can build a better future together.
16.What does the underlined word “They” refer to?
A.Voice assistants. B.Home lights. C.Learning plans. D.Some apps.
17.Which of the following can summarize Paragraph Four?

C.AI is helpful but not perfect and needs wise use. D.AI can build a better future for humans.
18.What’s the structure of the passage? (P1: Paragraph 1; P2: Paragraph 2...)
A. B. C. D.
19.Where can we read the passage?
A.In an education newspaper. B.In an entertainment poster.
C.In a self-driving car ad. D.In a science magazine.
20.What’s the best title for the passage?
A.AI: a powerful tool for our lives B.How to make an AI software
C.A tool which may replace humans D.The development history of AI

A.AI will replace all human jobs. B.AI is helpful in healthcare and education.
答案:16.A 17.C 18.A 19.D 20.A

第三节 阅读表达 (共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读短文,完成下列各题。
Do you like to travel alone (独自旅行)? Or do you think it's better to travel with friends? If you're still deciding, please read on.
Traveling alone really shows you what you're made of and helps you find the inner strength (内心的力量) you didn't know you had. And it also gives you time to think and learn.
It's easy to think that traveling alone is lonely (孤独的). Although that may sometimes be true, you're hardly ever alone. When you travel in a one - person team, you can enjoy the most interesting part of travel—talking with the locals (当地人) and meeting travelers from all over the world.
In fact, traveling to know about the world is not easy. There's lots of information to look up, tickets to buy, and things like these. And there's another thing to worry about: Things can and often do—go wrong. One of the great things about traveling with friends is being able to help each other.
It's true that traveling with others can give you a sense of safety (安全感). You know that if you get lost or get things lost, there's someone to hold your hand when you try to tell it to the police in another country.
There's no right or wrong way to travel. Whether you travel alone or with friends, it's up to you.

My Winter Vacation
Last winter vacation, I went to Beijing with my family. It was an amazing trip.
First, we visited the Palace Museum. The ancient buildings there were so beautiful that I was deeply attracted by their long history. Then we climbed the Great Wall. Standing on it, I could see the beautiful scenery around. It was really a wonderful experience. Besides, we also tasted the famous Beijing Roast Duck. It was so delicious!
I really had a great time during this winter vacation. I not only had fun but also learnt a lot about Chinese history.
