B As computers become more and more popular in China, Chinese people are increasingly depending on computer keyboards to input Chinese characters. But if they use the computer too much, they may end up forgetting the exact strokes (笔画) of each Chinese character when writing on paper. Experts suggest people, especially students, write by hand more. Do you write by hand more or type more? In Beijing, students start using a computer as early as in primary school. And computer dependence is more widespread among university students. Almost all their homework and writings are typed on a computer. All the students interviewed say they usually use a computer. It’s faster and easier to correct if using a computer. And that’s why computers are being used more and more often to modern education. But when people are taking stock of computers increasingly, problems appear. “When I’m writing with a pen, I find I often can’t remember how to write a character, though I feel I’m familiar with it.” “I’m not in the mood to write when faced with a pen and paper.” Many students don’t feel this is something to worry about. Now that it’s more convenient and efficient to write on a computer, why bother to handwrite? Many educators think differently. Shi Liwei, the headmaster of a famous primary school in the capital said, “Chinese characters enjoy both practical value and artistic beauty. But those characters typed with computer keyboards only maintain their practical value. All the artistic beauty of the characters is lost. And handwriting contains the writer’s emotion. Through one’s handwriting, people can get to know one’s thinking and personality. Beautiful writing will give people a better first impression of them.” To encourage students to hand-write more, many primary schools in Beijing have made writing classes compulsory (必修的) and in universities, some professors are asking students to turn in their homework and essays written by hand. 24.Why do the students prefer to write with a computer mainly? A.Computers have become a trend and fashion in China. B.They find it not easy to remember how to write a character. C.They are usually asked to email their homework and writings. D.They can correct the mistakes they make quickly and conveniently. 25.What does the underlined expression “taking stock of” in Paragraph 4 probably mean? A.Getting bored with. B.Thinking carefully about. C.Getting curious about. D.Becoming crazy about. 26.What can we learn from the passage? A.More and more students will pay attention to handwriting. B.More and more students will give up writing on a computer. C.The typing article better expresses one’s emotion and quality. D.Writing by hand will give way to typing by computer one day. 27.Which of the following can best serve as the title of the passage? A.To Type or to Hand-write. B.How to Improve Handwriting. C.Practical Value and Artistic Beauty of Chinese Characters. D.Writing by Computer Will Replace Writing by Hand. C Human history is full of horse stories like guiding cowboys home on foggy nights and taking wounded soldiers through battle zones. Such sensible and highly trained horses made Elina Jatel, a computer scientist and roboticist, think of robots. “A horse that can take a rider home on its own would be the highest level of autonomy,” Jatel says. “You trust them with your life.” She was drawn to learning how such relationships form and if it could help improve human-robot interactions. For a year, Jatel engaged herself in the horse world. She watched classes in horse training, and she also talked with students, instructors, trainers and horse owners. Along the way, Jatel even learned to ride. Horses learn signals from their trainers on how to comfortably interact with people. People, too, must learn their part. Riders must learn what a horse wants or feels based on its behavior, and what signals to use to direct horses to perform in desired ways. Jatel found some similarities, here, to working with robots. People must learn how to direct robots to do specific tasks. They also must learn what to do when robots don’t perform as planned. The goal is to program robots that will respond predictably to inputs from people. But like horses, autonomous robots also should be able to respond on their own as conditions change. For example, a self-driving car must stop to avoid hitting something, even if some human mistakenly tells it to keep going. Trainers and riders work with horses to build respect. Horses show that respect by matching their pace to a human or giving someone who is leading them a safe degree of personal space. Trainers begin their work with a horse by getting them to show signs of respect in basic interactions, Jatel says. Later, trainers will develop more complex interactions. Gradually, a horse’s respect can grow into trust. But that trust is not given. And there may be a similar limitation with robots. What would it mean for robots and people to respect and trust each other? For now, she adds, this is largely uncharted territory. But she’s looking to build a path. 28.What drew Elina Jatel’s attention to horses? A.Horses’ amazing performance. B.Long history of horse training. C.Horse-human interdependence. D.Her horse-riding experience. 29.What are the robots of the highest autonomy designed to do? A.To act like real horses. B.To show respect to humans. C.To follow instructions from humans. D.To make independent and sensible decisions. 30.What will Jatel’s future research most probably focus on? A.The limitations of robots. B.Trust between robots and humans. C.Path toward higher robot efficiency. D.Similarities between horses and robots. 31.What can be a suitable title for the text? A.History of Human-Horse Relationship B.Secrets of Human-Animal Interactions C.The Role of Trust in Human-Robot Partnerships D.Horses as the Inspiration for Autonomous Robots D There is nothing quite like enjoying the sights, sounds and culture of a city while tasting a cup of coffee outdoors. But it is not that enjoyable when heat waves sweep the city.An outdoor cooling system produced by Kinonko,an Israeli (以色列的) company, began to be tested in Tel Aviv. The sweltering city is a perfect place to try the new technology. With global warming heating up the temperature,it will soon be too hot to sit outside in cafes. While outdoor cooling systems have existed for a while, most of them use some sort of water or misting system to cool the air around them, consuming too much water and power. After two years of development, the perfect solution to the problem was found.“We have invented a new generation of air conditioner,” Kinonko CEO Leizer said. As Leizer introduced, the energy is from the pressure created between liquid nitrogen(氮)and gas nitrogen. When liquid nitrogen at-196 degrees turns into gas,it produces a very strong pressure and the pressure is used to run a mechanical engine. It is that mechanical engine that slowly releases freezing nitrogen gas to cool down the air around it. The technology is unique and amazing.Beyond the coolness of the concept,it also has other advantages. The work unit doesn't need to be power-driven,and doesn't blow out harmful warm air as it works. As for the potential price,it will probably be no more expensive than any other air conditioner. In addition, the liquid nitrogen container will need to be replaced every seven to ten days, depending on usage. This makes it an affordable option for all sorts of businesses. The cooling system is expected to be on the market in 2024. 32.What does the underlined word “sweltering” mean in Paragraph 1?( ) A.Warm. B.Dry. C.Hot. D.Freezing. 33.What problem does the existing outdoor cooling systems have?( ) A.They are wasteful. B.They overheat easily. C.They often break down. D.They are slow to cool the air. 34.What does Paragraph 3 mainly explain?( ) A.What powers the engine. B.What turns liquid into gas. C.How the pressure is formed. D.How the new system works. 35.What is the purpose of this text?( ) A.To promote a company. B.To settle an energy crisis. C.To introduce a technology. D.To market a misting system. 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 How to Read the Newspaper Quickly and Efficiently You want to stay informed about the world but you have such a busy life.1( ).Here are tips for reading the newspaper in the fastest, most efficient way possible: Scan the headlines 2( ).Generally speaking, the headline presents the theme of the story so you can skip over some stories and read others.Remember that some stories will directly affect you while others may not.Use your best judgment in determining which stories you want to read based on their headlines. 3( ) Basically,a newspaper article presents the most crucial information early on and gradually reveals less and less significant details. In other words, you can read the first one to five paragraphs or so and really already know the meat of the story. Read the photo captions(说明) If you're really in a hurry but you want a little bit more information than what the headline provides, skip the story and go straight to the photo caption.Photo captions often serve as an intermediate between the headline and the actual story.4( ) Keep in mind, though, that not all photo captions are created equal. While some may give you a summary of the story behind the photograph, others are much more unclear. Look at the graphics Search for bar graphs(图表),pie charts, and other visuals that show you what you need to know by the numbers in a flash.Often you don't even have to hunt; the graphics are noticeably displayed and perhaps even in color.Graphics alone rarely,if ever, provide much deep insight into a story.5( ). A.Read the first three paragraphs B.Grasp the most crucial information first C.They give you some detail but not everything D.Headlines usually declare what the story's about upfront E.The most important details are usually included in headlines F.However, they do give you a brief introduction to what makes a certain story so attractive G.Actually, that doesn't mean you can't take a few minutes to learn about what's happening worldwide 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题:每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 The release of the iPhone 11 last September was greeted with open arms. More photos are taken using the iPhone than any camera in the world. As an iPhone 47 myself, I am never without my phone. I check Facebook, Twitter and my e-mails several times a day, along with taking 48 and keeping in touch with friends and family. But do we 49 our phones too much? I love sharing things that I enjoy and keeping up with my friends’ lives, but I do think it’s got out of hand. Instead of talking together, friends sit round 50 in restaurants scrolling through Facebook, and we are more interested in photos of special moments than 51 enjoying them. I think it’s 52 to make time for each other. Turn off your phone every now and again. One 53 when you go out with friends is to put all of your phones in the middle of the table, and whoever 54 his phone first has to pay the bill! Our house is neither large nor luxurious, but it has a fairly big garden. My father loves his garden. He planted some seeds in it, and took good care of the plants, watering them, applying fertilizer, weeding and getting rid of bugs. He was never tired of doing all that stuff. But at that time, I didn't understand why working in the dirt excited him so much. Unfortunately, in the summer vacation before my senior high school, my father was seriously injured in an accident. He had to stay in bed for a while. My mother had several business trips, so she couldn't take care of the garden. I didn't want my father to worry. I said that I would take care of his garden until he recovered. I assumed that the little plants would continue to grow as long as they had water, and luckily it rained fairly often, so I didn't think much about the garden. One Saturday morning, my father said to me, "Christine, the vegetables should be about ready to be picked. Let's have a salad today!" I went out to the garden and was upset to see that the lettuce(生菜) leaves and carrots had been half eaten by bugs. There were hundreds of bugs all over them! I panicked for a moment but then I quietly went to the nearest supermarket to buy some vegetables. When I was making the salad, my mother came home and saw the bag from the supermarket in the kitchen. I was embarrassed and admitted, "Dad would like a salad, but the garden is a disaster. I don't want to disappoint him, so I went to the supermarket and bought some vegetables." My mother smiled, saying, "Honey, you know what is the right thing to do." 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 My father seemed very pleased when I took the salad to him. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Feeling guilty, I decided to do the right thing. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共8页) 试题 第4页(共8页) 试题 第5页(共8页) 试题 第6页(共8页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2024-2025学年高一必修第二册英语单元测试 Unit4·基础卷(参考答案) 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 1.A. 2.A 3.B 4.A 5.C 6.A 7.B 8.C 9.B 10.B 11.A 12.A 13.C 14.A 15.B 16.B 17.C 18.A 19.B 20.C 第二部分 阅读 (共两节,满分50分) 第一节 21. He took a bite and praised, "This tastes wonderful, Christine. Did you pick the vegetables from the garden?" I froze, unable to meet his eyes. My mother gently patted my shoulder, and I mumbled, "I... I bought them from the supermarket. The garden was full of bugs, and I messed up." To my surprise, my father didn't get angry. He smiled softly, "It's okay, dear. Taking care of a garden is harder than it looks, isn't it?" Feeling guilty, I decided to do the right thing. The next morning, I put on my old clothes and headed to the garden. I spent hours pulling weeds, spraying natural bug repellent, and carefully watering the plants. My back ached, but I kept going. Day by day, I checked on the garden, learned to recognize harmful bugs, and even asked a neighbor for tips. When my father finally got out of bed weeks later, he was amazed to see the garden thriving—fresh lettuce, plump carrots, and even some colorful flowers. "You've got a green thumb, just like me," he said proudly. That day, we made a salad with our own vegetables, and it tasted better than anything I'd ever had. I finally understood why my father loved his garden so much. Hello, international friends club. 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读下面短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 How to Read the Newspaper Quickly and Efficiently You want to stay informed about the world but you have such a busy life.36( ).Here are tips for reading the newspaper in the fastest, most efficient way possible: Scan the headlines 37( ).Generally speaking, the headline presents the theme of the story so you can skip over some stories and read others.Remember that some stories will directly affect you while others may not.Use your best judgment in determining which stories you want to read based on their headlines. 38( ) Basically,a newspaper article presents the most crucial information early on and gradually reveals less and less significant details. In other words, you can read the first one to five paragraphs or so and really already know the meat of the story. Read the photo captions(说明) If you're really in a hurry but you want a little bit more information than what the headline provides, skip the story and go straight to the photo caption.Photo captions often serve as an intermediate between the headline and the actual story.39( ) Keep in mind, though, that not all photo captions are created equal. While some may give you a summary of the story behind the photograph, others are much more unclear. Look at the graphics Search for bar graphs(图表),pie charts, and other visuals that show you what you need to know by the numbers in a flash.Often you don't even have to hunt; the graphics are noticeably displayed and perhaps even in color.Graphics alone rarely,if ever, provide much deep insight into a story.40( ). Our house is neither large nor luxurious, but it has a fairly big garden. My father loves his garden. He planted some seeds in it, and took good care of the plants, watering them, applying fertilizer(肥料), weeding and getting rid of bugs. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 4 / 12 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2024-2025学年高一必修第二册英语单元测试 Unit4·基础卷 学校:___________班级:___________姓名:___________分数:___________ (时间:120分钟,满分:150分) 注意事项: 1. 1. 【答案】24.D 25.B 26.A 27.A 【导语】本文是一篇议论文。文章主要围绕电脑的普及使手写减少,引发对手写价值的讨论。 24.细节理解题。根据第四段中的“It’s faster and easier to correct if using a computer.(如果用电脑纠正会更快更容易。)” 根据最后一段“To encourage students to hand-write more, many primary schools in Beijing have made writing classes compulsory (必修的) and in universities, some professors are asking students to turn in their homework and essays written by hand.(为了鼓励学生更多地手写,北京的许多小学已经将写作课作为必修课,在大学里,一些教授要求学生上交手写的作业和论文。)”可知,北京的许多小学已经将书写作为必修课,大学里的一些教授要求学生提交手写的作业和论文,所以越来越多的学生会重视书写。故选A。 27.主旨大意题。根据文章第一段“As computers become more and more popular in China, Chinese people are increasingly depending on computer keyboards to input Chinese characters. But if they use the computer too much, they may end up forgetting the exact strokes (笔画) of each Chinese character when writing on paper. Experts suggest people, especially students, write by hand more.(随着电脑在中国越来越普及,中国人越来越依赖电脑键盘输入汉字。 A。 C Human history is full of horse stories like guiding cowboys home on foggy nights and taking wounded soldiers through battle zones. 【答案】32. C 33. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【范文】 My father seemed very pleased when I took the salad to him. 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!1 学科网(北京)股份有限公司22 / 23 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
