Ⅰ.阅读理解
Today, many people spend a lot of time reading online, whether reading news, social media,or ebooks. While online reading opens up a lot of knowledge to people, there are some drawbacks, too. These include eyestrain, headaches,as well as difficulty in even finishing reading the text. Now a new reading plugin(插件) has been intended to help people overcome these problems and read faster online.
The reading plugin called Bionic Reading, which was developed by Swiss designer Renato Casutt, was created with the belief that your brain can read faster than your eyes. The plugin makes the first few letters of each word in bold(粗体),which actually allows your eyes to skip over parts of the text and your brain to fill in what is missing.Incredibly, reading like this feels like finally unlocking 100 percent of people's brain.
Casutt came up with the plugin by accident. He was reading a book in a foreign language and realized he could read it faster and well master it if he separated it into parts. He has worked for six years to develop Bionic Reading and is still working to perfect it.Many people who want to strengthen their reading ability show interest in it,but more research is needed before it can be definitively shown that the system improves reading ability. But people with dyslexia(诵读障碍) have confirmed that Bionic Reading did help them focus on what they are reading.
Casutt's goal is to integrate the plugin into all reading apps and online services.“In a digital world dominated(支配) by shallow forms of reading,Bionic Reading aims to encourage a more indepth reading and understanding of written content,” he said.Bionic Reading is available in several apps like Fiery Feeds,Lire, and Next App.The best way to know if it helps you read better online is to try it yourself and find out what it is all about.

Ⅱ.七选五阅读
(2024·慈溪高二期末)Do you ever compare yourself to other people and wish you could be more like them? Actually, accepting who you are can help you feel happier and more positive about yourself.
1. As well as appreciating what you're good at,it means valuing the parts of you that don't shine as brightly, like being forgetful or untidy. It's a habit that involves being kind to yourself even when you make a mistake. And it also means knowing your own weaknesses and strengths, and accepting who you are no matter what other people say or think.
When you accept who you are,you worry less about things you can't change.2. Anna Freud, founder of a mental health charity that supports young people, says,“We can always feel as if we have to appear perfect and are busy trying to meet others' standards.3. ” Some people may find letters or numbers hard to read, for example, but they might have strengths in other areas, like finding a creative way to overcome challenges.Learning to accept everything about yourself can also help you discover what you're really capable of.
4. Start by making a list of all the things you like about yourself.Maybe you're good at cooking,or people find it easy to talk to you.Ask your friends for help. Also, think up ways to treat yourself, like taking a long bath or watching your favorite film and spend some quality time on your own.5.
A.You are different in your own way.
B.This makes you feel happier and more confident.
C.Everyone is born with their strengths and weaknesses.
D.That leads us to forget about the little things that make us unique.
E.There are some effective ways that can help you accept yourself.

(2025·渭南高二检测)It was summer, and my dad wanted to treat me to a vacation like never before. He decided to take me on a trip to the Wild West.
We took a plane to Albuquerque,a big city in the state of New Mexico. We reached Albuquerque in the late afternoon.Uncle Paul,my dad's friend, picked us up from the airport and drove us up to his farm in Pecos.
His wife Tina cooked us a delicious dinner and we got to know his sons Ryan and Kyle.My dad and I spent the night in the guestroom of the farm house listening to the frogs and water rolling down the river nearby.Very early in the morning,Uncle Paul woke us up to have breakfast.“The day starts at dawn on my farm,” he said. After breakfast,I went to help Aunt Tina feed the chickens, while my dad went with Uncle Paul to take the sheep out to graze(吃草).I was impressed to see my dad and Uncle Paul riding horses. They looked really cool.
In the afternoon,I asked Uncle Paul if I could take a horse ride, and he said yes,as long as my dad went with me.I wasn't going to take a horse ride by myself anyway. So,my dad and I put on our new cowboy hats, got on our horses, and headed slowly towards the mountains.“Don't be late for supper,” Uncle Paul cried,“and keep to the track so that you don't get lost!” “OK!” my dad cried back. After a while Uncle Paul and his farm house were out of sight. It was so peaceful and quiet and the colors of the brown rocks, the deep green pine trees, and the late afternoon sun mixed to create a magic scene. It looked like a beautiful woven(编织的) blanket spread out upon the ground just for us.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;

Paragraph 1:
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse.
Paragraph 2:
We had no idea where we were and it got dark.
[参考范文]
Paragraph 1:
Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse. Its abrupt appearance scared my horse, making it run off the track wildly.I spared no effort to hold on as hard as I could and my dad was trying to keep up,extremely worried about my safety.Fortunately, minutes later, the horse stopped before a river, out of breath.Relieved,we looked around trying to find the track. However,it was nowhere to be found. So aimlessly did the frightened horse run that we got lost unconsciously.
Paragraph 2:
We had no idea where we were and it got dark. Nothing in sight was familiar and neither did we know where the farm house was.Just at the point of desperation, from the distance came a faint voice.“It must be Uncle Paul,” I exclaimed excitedly. That we didn't come back for dinner made him realize something unusual might have happened. So my uncle went out to look for us.Finally,we reached Uncle Paul's farm house safe and sound.
