五、阅读理解
In Australia, kids, parents, teachers and health experts (专家) are calling for a change in school uniforms. They want to replace the traditional ones with sportswear.
A public health expert found that four in five parents and six in 10 teachers would be in support of such a change. Many of them think students should wear sports uniforms every day. And 62 percent of primary school students and 72 percent of middle school students would like to wear a sports uniform five days a week.
“Wearing sports uniforms five days a week will save a lot of money.” the expert said. “Sports uniforms are cheaper than traditional ones. Most sports uniforms include a tracksuit (运动服), polo shirt with school logo, sports shorts and sports shoes.”
Older students strongly agreed that they would be more active in sports uniforms. They said traditional ones were too “unsuitable”. Sports uniforms make it easier for students to take part in more activities. For example, girls will be able to play on monkey bars (攀爬架). They won’t have to worry about showing their underwear while going upside down.
Independent schools set their own uniform policies (政策). A head teacher said his students had been wearing sportswear uniforms since the start of the year. “It’s very popular with students.
