听力原文:
Morning, everyone. I'm going to give you some advice to help you prepare for the exams next week. So make notes as I'm talking. Are you ready?
While you are studying, eat food that gives you energy. You'd better not eat sweets or drink cola. Sugar won't help you study but fruit and cereals will. Apples are especially good.
Don't try to learn everything. There isn't enough time. Choose the “important” things, which will get you most points in an exam. If you
aren't sure about this, ask me. Make notes of these key points and read them, then cover them up and try to remember all the points.
Use past exam papers to study. They will help you understand what kind of questions come up. There are plenty of past exam papers in the library. You can photocopy them and take them home.
Take regular breaks while you are studying. A five-minute break every half hour is usually enough. Get some fresh air and stretch your arms and legs. Drink a glass of water to keep hydrated as well.
And, last but not least, good luck!I'm sure you will all do your best.

A table of contents is found in the beginning of most books, and it lists the names of chapters that the book has been divided into with their corresponding(相符的) page numbers. It is important to remember that
the title of a chapter may not offer a clear indication of what the chapter is about. Only by quickly skimming through the chapter will you know what it is about. This is particularly true of non-reference(非参考类) books.
A table of contents can be helpful in skipping to a particular section if the reader knows what the chapter is about.
Here is an example of a typical table of contents for a non-fiction(纪实文学) book. Read it and answer the questions that follow it.
( )16.This table of contents would be found in a book about ________.

There are many different kinds of disasters(灾难) around the world. As an adult you know what to do during a disaster, but what about the children? Some adults think it would probably never happen to them, so they don't teach their children what to do. Before it's too late, here are ways to help you prepare your children for a disaster.
Educate: It is always good to let your children know about possible disasters. This doesn't mean children have to live in fear. When teaching them about disasters, keep the conversation positive(积极的) by telling
them there is a solution(解决办法) to the disaster. Keep the conversation short, allow for questions and answer honestly.
Prepare: Always be prepared, and that is the best advice for children. For example, when preparing for bad weather, get the tools you need, like candles, radios, food, water and medicine. Teach your children what is needed in certain disasters so that they know what is available for them, if ever needed.
Plan: You should always have a plan for you and your children for any dangerous situation. Write out a simple list that they can read. The plan could start with “listen to an adult's advice and call 119”.
Practise: Once you have got the correct safety tools and worked out the right plan, practise every few months. Practising what to do during a disaster with your children will help them if the time comes.
Disasters can't be avoided but they can be lessened(减轻) once you are prepared and ready for them.

Almost all animals need to sleep to stay healthy. But sleeping can also be dangerous because other animals may hurt those who are sleeping. This leads to many different ways of sleeping that help them stay safe. Some of the ways may surprise you!
Almost all bats(蝙蝠) sleep upside down. They hang from a branch of a tree or the ceiling of a cave. Up high, bats are safe from most other animals. If they are in danger, they just fly away.
A dolphin(海豚) sleeps with just half its brain at a time. It must stay
awake to breathe and to watch for danger. Dolphin mothers and babies can go without sleep for as long as two months to stay safe.
Some ducks sleep with just half their brains, too. These ducks often sleep in a line. The ducks at both ends help to keep the group safe. They keep one eye open to watch for danger. The ducks in the middle sleep with both eyes closed.
Seals(海豹) breathe air, but that doesn't stop some of them from sleeping underwater. They hold their breath and dive deep to sleep for up to twenty minutes at a time. Sleeping deep underwater helps these seals stay safe from animals that hunt them at or near the surface.
Horses often sleep standing up. Their legs lock in place so they don't fall over. If a horse is lying down, it needs a long time to get up. A horse can run from danger more quickly if it is already standing.
A flamingo(火烈鸟) can sleep while standing on one leg. The standing leg locks so it stays straight. The other leg remains close to the flamingo's body. Its head rests on its back. A flamingo lives (and sleeps) near many other birds to stay safe.
Some seabirds can sleep while they fly. These large birds spend most of their lives over the ocean. They are in danger on the water, but they are
safe in the air. They fly for many hours without flapping(拍打) their wings. Sometimes they sleep while they are flying.
Would you like to sleep how they sleep?

Being trapped in an elevator(电梯) can be one of the worst experiences of one's life. Some people who have such experiences may be afraid to use an elevator again. In fact, there are some useful tips to follow when people are in trouble with the elevator.
Firstly, take a deep breath and keep calm. Too much fear will lead to your panic(恐慌) and make you too nervous to think clearly. Tell yourself to be patient and believe that nothing is impossible.
Secondly, use the emergency(紧急情况) call inside the elevator or your mobile phone to let people outside know you are stuck in the elevator. There is an emergency call on the wall of each elevator. You may use your mobile phone to give light and find it. The phone number can be found around it.
Thirdly, sending messages on WeChat is also a good idea to allow more people to find you are in need of help. If help hasn't come, knock the door to get attention from other people in the building.
Fourthly, move less and try to relax. Even if the workers have known your situation, it may take them a long time to repair the elevator and bring you back to safety. When the traffic light is red, I won't go until it turns green. I
always cross the zebra crossing because it's safe. Second, I often eat
healthily. It's important to eat more fruit and vegetables. Eating too
much fast food will do harm to my body. Third, I never meet
strangers alone, especially friends who I make on the Internet. My
friends and I often help each other. What's more, it's dangerous for
us to swim alone, especially in deep lakes or rivers in summer.
