(一)形容词与副词
1. 形容词定义及用法
形容词是用来修饰名词或代词的词,用来描述其特征、性质、状态等。
在修饰名词时,形容词一般放在名词之前。但有时也可以放在名词之后表示强调。
例 He is a smart boy.他是一个聪明的男孩。
例 The movie is interesting.这部电影很有趣。
2. 副词定义及用法
副词是用来修饰动词、形容词、其他副词或整个句子,
表示时间、地点、程度、方式等意义的词。
(1)修饰动词:说明动作发生的时间、地点、方式、程度等。
例 He runs quickly. 他跑得很快。(quickly 修饰 run)
(2)修饰形容词:加深或改变形容词所表达的程度或性质。
例The movie is extremely interesting. 这部电影极其有趣。(extremely修饰interesting)
(3)修饰其他副词:使被修饰的副词语义更精确。
例 He drives very carefully. 他开车非常小心。(very修饰carefully,强调小心的程度)
(4)修饰句子:表明说话者对整个句子内容的态度或评价等。
例 Luckily, he passed the exam. 幸运的是,他通过了考试。(Luckily 修饰整个句子)

(二)连词and/but/or

1. and, but, or 的用法
(1) and: 用于连接并列的单词或句子等,表并列、顺承关系。多用于肯定句。
如:He is smart and kind. 他既聪明又善良。(表并列)
I got up early, and I caught the first bus.我起得很早,然后赶上了首班车。(表顺承)
(2) or: 表并列关系(多用于疑问句或否定句),表选择。
如: I don’t like apples or bananas.我既不喜欢苹果也不喜欢香蕉。(表并列)
Do you choose the red ones or the blue ones?你选红色的那双还是蓝色的那双?(表选择) 【注意】 or 还有“否则”的意思。
