The invention is Spark Care+. Sarah Park, a 14-year-
old student from Florida, the US, created it. The invention
won her the title of America’s Top Young Scientist. How does
Spark Care+ work? First, it asks the user a lot of questions
about how he or she is feeling. Then it links(联系) the answers
to the Hamilton Depression Scale(汉密尔顿抑郁量表). It also
reads the user’s heart rate(心率) and blood pressure. Finally,
it picks music for the user.

It’s not surprising that Sarah’s invention is about music,
as she is talented in music. She began playing the violin when
she was 4 years old and gave a performance at Carnegie Hall at
the age of 10. But she decided to create Spark Care+ also
because of her grandmother. “She has mental(精神的)
illness, but when she listens to my violin music, she wears a
smile on her face,” Sarah said.
