China will have 75 percent of its wild animals on land under the national key protection system by 2025, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration(国家林业和草原局) said. Its announcement took place on Sunday, which happened to be international Day for Biological Diversity(多样性).
The administration said that part of China’s achievements in protecting wild animals lie in setting wild animals into nature reserves(保护区) after human breeding(繁殖). It said that nine milu deer(麋鹿) recently came into the world in the Daqingshan National Nature Reserve in Inner Mongolia. They are babies of the milu deer, or Pere David’s deer, who were set into the wild in September following human breeding in Beijing and Jiangsu province.

Siberian tigers mainly live in eastern Russia, northeast China, and the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. At the beginning of the 20th century, Siberian tigers were widely found in northeast China. However, the tigers disappeared in the area because of different reasons in the 1970s. They are on China’s first-class protection list.
“In order to protect Siberian tigers, China has been taking action. In Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park in Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces, a high-tech system has been used to provide real-time (实时的) protection for the plants and animals. The system has taken more than 4,000 pictures of Siberian tigers and Amur leopards,” according to Hou Ling, the director of the park’s office. Besides, some people would like to join the teams of protecting wild tigers. Dong Hongyu, a 55-year-old man from Heilongjiang Province, has been working for protecting Siberian tigers for 22 years. Although it was difficult sometimes, this protector never thought about giving up.
Luckily, all these efforts have paid off. Now there are more than sixty Siberian tigers in our country. More importantly, the survival rate (存活率) of young Siberian tigers has increased from 33 percent in 2016 to 50 percent now.
Not only Siberian tigers but also many other kinds of endangered animals have been protected. Over the past few years, China has made great achievements in wildlife protection. One of the most successful examples is the giant panda. The population of the wild giant pandas has grown from 1,114 in the 1970s to 1,864 now.
China will continue its protection for wildlife. In the next five years, China will build more protection areas for the wildlife and improve their living places. Special scientific research will also be done on endangered animals, including the giant pandas and Siberian tigers.

The Power of Plants
Plants are very important to us. They provide food, medicine, and beauty. Today, I want to introduce one of the most resilient plants I know—bamboo.
Bamboo is truly a marvel of nature. It grows in many parts of Asia, particularly in mountainous areas. While other plants require specific conditions to survive, bamboo thrives as an incredibly strong and adaptable plant. I chose bamboo because it is one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth. Some bamboo can grow over 90 centimeters in just a single day! This rapid growth is not just fascinating but also highly beneficial. Moreover, it can be used to make furniture, paper, and even clothing. An interesting fact is that bamboo can also purify the air.
Let's protect plants like bamboo. They are not only useful but also demonstrate the power of nature. Every plant deserves our care and respect.
