我的进步
I used to be a shy boy who was afraid of speaking in
public. When the teacher asked questions, I would lower my
head, even if I knew the answer. I also struggled with
English, especially oral English, as I dared not talk to
others in English.
But now, I’ve changed a lot. I can actively answer
questions in class and even give short speeches. In English
class, I often practice dialogues with my deskmate. How
did I make such progress? My English teacher encouraged
me to join the English corner. At first, I just listened, but
gradually, I tried to say a few words. With their patience,
I became more confident.
I realize that progress comes from courage and practice.

A Rule I Agree with
Among all the rules in school and family, I agree most
with “no mobile phones in class”.
This rule helps us focus better on lessons. Without
phones, we won’t be distracted by messages or games, so
we can listen to teachers carefully and take notes in time.
It also encourages face-to-face communication with
classmates during breaks, which is good for building
friendships. What’s more, using phones less in class
protects our eyes and helps us form good study habits.
I expect all students to follow this rule strictly. If
everyone obeys it, our class will be more orderly, and we’ll
learn more effectively. Teachers will also be happier when
they see us paying full attention. This rule doesn’t limit our

freedom but helps us grow better.

我生活中的改变
I’m glad to hear that you’ve noticed I’ve changed a lot.
Let me tell you about it.
In appearance, I used to be short and thin, but now I’m
much taller and stronger because I exercise often.
My personality has changed too. I was shy and quiet
before, afraid to speak in public. Now I’m more outgoing
and enjoy talking with classmates, even bravely express my
ideas in class. As for hobbies, I used to spend much time
playing computer games. Now I like reading books and
playing basketball. Reading opens up a new world for me,
and basketball helps me make more friends. In study, I was
lazy and often put off homework. Now I’m more hard -
working. I listen carefully in class, take notes and finish

homework on time. My grades have improved a lot.
These changes make me better. I’m happy with what I am
now.
