Anything we didn't eat at one meal was leftovers(剩菜). I can remember my grandma making a huge pot of potatoes. We would all eat until we were full enough, but there were always about half of the potatoes leftover. A few days later, Grandma would take those potatoes out of the fridge, boil some noodles, add some vegetables and mix them all together. And I also remember when I watched my mum fry bacon (煎培根)for us in the mornings, she would always take the oil carefully and pour it into a bottle. Then she would use it later to add flavor to so many other dishes. I was an adult before I realized that potatoes didn't actually taste like bacon!
I learned their lessons well, and after I grew up, I tried to never waste food myself. I always planned the week’s meals ahead of time and only bought what was on my shopping list so that nothing went to waste. Every meal went into our stomachs and any leftovers were later eaten by either myself my boys, my husband or, my dogs. To me, throwing food into the bin was just wrong.

With drawings and simple words, the step-by-step guide explains how to send messages, take pictures and make video calls. "My parents are getting old. They need an easy way to learn how to use technology,"Zhang said.
Zhang’s experience is common nowadays. In the world, 40% of parents learn about new technology, including computers, mobile, Internet and social media(社交媒体), from their children, according to a survey from the International Communication Association. According to the China Internet Network Information Center, in China, 56. 7% of Internet users and 67.2% of social media users are under the age of 30. Young people usually act as a link between their family and the new environment. But when they teach their parents new technologies, parents can connect to the new world by themselves.

A. 回答问题(共 5 小题,每小题 1 分,共 5 分)
It was too late at night when an old man came to a small town. He found a small hotel and wanted to stay there for the night. After he went into his room, the owner said to his wife, “Look at his bag. There must be much money in it. Let’s take it away when he is asleep, shall we?”
“No, no.” said the woman. “He must look for his bag tomorrow morning. If he can’t find it, he’ll telephone the police.”
They thought for a few minutes. Then the woman had an idea. “We have forgetful grass. Why not put some forgetful grass into his food? If he has the food, he will forget to take his bag away.”
The old man had the food with the forgetful grass and went to bed. The next morning when the owner got up, he found the door open and the old man had left with the bag. He was angry and woke his wife up, “What a fool! Your forgetful grass isn’t useful at all.”
“No, I don’t think so. He must forget something.” said his wife. “Oh! I remember now!” cried out the man suddenly, “He forgot to pay for the night.”
