My Happy Holiday
I went on a holiday with my family last Spring Festival. We
went to Sanya because it was very cold in my hometown. But in
Hainan it was warm.
We went there by plane. It was the first time for me to take
a plane. I was so excited. We stayed in a hotel near the
beautiful beach. It was not the best hotel in Sanya but clean and
tidy. We had so much delicious seafood too.
My dad and mum got up early and had a walk along the
beach. I had fun with my brother. My brother and I played with
the white soft sand. Also,we swam in the cool sea. A lot of fish
swam around us. We stayed in Sanya for a week. We had a good

VⅡ.71.One possible version:
In our English class,we had a discussion about what we
could do to make home a happier place. We shared our ideas.
Some say it's a good idea to spend more time with family.
They believe family members should share happiness and
worries. When other family members meet problems, we can do
something to cheer them up. Home is always the first place for
us to get help and support. Others think it's necessary to
remember family's birthdays and prepare small presents. The
feeling of being loved can bring us more pleasure.
In my opinion, showing love for family is really important.
Sometimes, even the smallest thing like walking with our family
makes them happier.

It was difficult at the beginning. We kept missing and dropping the
frisbee. However, it became more fun than we thought after we 24 for a
while. We ran quickly, laughed loudly and shouted happily with each
successful catch.
After playing, when we walked back to the house, I felt something warm
inside. I realized playing with the family was much 25 than playing on
the phone. Grandpa Jack had shown us a different kind of joy,and I knew
this was a day I would never forget.

(四平期末)①Do you have a brother or sister?Do you have to share a
bedroom with him or her?Do you think it's good or bad?
②Sharing a bedroom with your brother or sister has good sides. For one,
it helps you get a good sleep. If you are afraid of the dark, you'll fallasleep
more easily with someone else in the room. The same is true if you don't like
being alone. For another, you can get many important skills. You learn how
to give and take so that nobody gets selfish. All these can help you get along
with your brother or sister.
③Sharing a bedroom with your brother or sister also has disadvantages
(弊端). It may bring some problems to your sleep. If you are a light
sleeper, the noises he or she makes may make you sleep worse. The same
thing happens if he or she can't sleep without a night light on. Also, when
you share a room, you don't have your personal place because there is always
someone else there. You can't learn to be independent either. That's because
you never have the chance to learn how to solve problems by yourself.
④As you can see, there are both good and bad sides about sharing a
bedroom. So,talk with your family to see what works better for you and your
brother or sister!

Sometimes, families can be hard. Arguments happen. People get upset.
Sometimes they stop talking. Our family also has lots of ups and downs. I'd
say we're probably one of the most argumentative families out there.
I have an older brother and an older sister. I'm the younger brother of the
family. We grew up in quite a small house and often didn't have a lot of
money. My mum and dad argued all the time, over just about anything. My
brother and sister argued. And I used to argue too.
But as I got older, I always chose to be the mediator(调解人),the
person who tries to look at both sides of the argument and tries to make
everything peace. "Dad, you shouldn't have said that to Mum, but Mum, try
to see it this way.”“Come on guys,we all love each other. It's just been a
bad day.”I'd say it often worked.
I learned much while growing up in an argumentative family: patience,
understanding, and the knowledge that sometimes things just don't go your
way. We all make mistakes. We all say things we wish we hadn’t. The key is
to try and understand. Put yourself in the other person's shoes and stay calm.
Of course, sometimes, arguments do need to happen. If something is wrong,
it needs to be solved and sometimes, we get angry about it. But as long as we
can reflect(反思)and look at things with an attitude of care and responsibility,
we can solve the problems successfully and help each other out.

Eyes Always on Us
Video cameras are everywhere:schools, theatres and stores. But in
recent years, they have entered our homes. Many parents set up cameras at
home to watch their children's online classes and homework. Are cameras
really helpful? What do students think about it?
根据短文内容,回答下列问题。(10分)
66.Do all the students like setting up cameras at home?
67.Why did Li Ming's parents set up a camera at home?
68.What happened to Li Ming one year later?
69.Why does Zhang Hua feel happy and free now?
70.What do you think of parents' setting up cameras at home? Why?
Li Ming(boy)
Earlier last year, I liked to lie in bed and watch videos instead of
studying. This affected my studies and made my grades worse. So my
parents set up a camera to keep an eye on me.
It worked. With the camera watching, I had to do my homework first
and make plans for studying at home. When I was alone at home, the
camera made me feel safe because I knew that my parents were watching on
the other side. My grades improved after a year.
Zhang Hua(girl)
When I was in Grade 8,my parents set up a camera in my room. I
really didn’t like it because I felt like there were always eyes watching me.
I felt so uncomfortable that I couldn’t sleep well at night.
Knowing there was a camera around, when my friends came to my
home, they would speak quietly and carefully. We couldn't have pillow
fights. I was sad. So I asked my parents to take the camera away. They
agreed it as long as I promised to behave well. I feel happy and free now.
