An adverbial clause of time starts with a linking word/phrase like when, as, before, until, as soon as, and so on. It cannot stand alone but always comes along with a main clause.
时间状语从句通常由连接词 / 短语引导,如 when, as, before, until, as soon as 等。
时间状语从句不能独立存在,必须和主句一起构成复合句。

When talking about an event or action in the future, we use the present simple rather than the future in the adverbial clause of time.

You may start like this: A little dog used to have lots of fun with his little master Jimmy ...
One day, Jimmy went to the grassy field with his dog. While he was happily flying the kite under the blue sky and white clouds, his dog ran after him nearby joyfully.
However, everything changed when Jimmy got a tablet computer. As soon as he started using it, he sat alone with excitement when playing games. The dog was ignored; thus, it was filled with boredom and loneliness.
The boy’s tablet broke by accident. As soon as this happened, the dog ran over to him and comforted him gently.
Jimmy picked up his cute dog and gave it a big hug. While he was holding it, he seemed to forget all his sadness and became happy again. The dog was also glad to see the boy smile once more.

Further thinking
Although digital techonology is great in many aspects, our life is also being influenced in some negative ways.
For example, when we are playing with some digital gadgets 小装置/ˈgædʒɪts/, such as iPad, or chatting with online friends, we ignore our relatives and friends nearby in reality.
