M: Good afternoon, I want to thank Professor Johnson for giving me the chance to talk to you today about Alaska. One of the things that concern me most is the future of the Alaska environment. About twenty years ago, before going on some wilderness research, I visited Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. It was a small city of 40,000 people surrounded by a quiet wilderness. When I made a recent trip there, I found amazing changes. Anchorage now has a hundred and eight thousand people. There’re tall buildings, shopping centers and all the crowds and traffic jams. The forests and mountains are still nearby, but they seem so small compared to the city’s great size. The discovery of oil in Alaska brought increased wealth to the state. However, there have been too many people moving to Alaska in a very short period to work on the pipeline. There is not enough housing or transportation. I think Alaska must make important decisions soon. Alaskans need to decide how to develop their natural resources and mineral wealth without destroying the wilderness and harming the wildlife. What is decided on now will affect the generations to come. For today’s lecture, I’ve brought along many of the pictures I usually show in my environmental science classes in my own university. First, I’ll show you some pictures of Alaska’s wilderness as it is today. Then I’d like to outline my specific suggestions. 第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分50分) 第一节(共11小题;每小题2.5分,满分27.5分) A If you are looking for apps to learn English for studying abroad, you might be confused. It’s all about the idea that spending just 20 minutes in a park daily can help lower stress, no matter how you spend that time. This year, China sees an increasing number of young people who are choosing to hang out in parks more often. Huang Bingbing, who lives in Shenzhen, is one of them. Three years back, she started going to the small park downstairs from her office for lunch breaks on weekdays. “On that piece of grass, I could connect with living plants and animals. It allowed me to clear my mind and recover from the stress of work,” Huang explained. Huang believes parks can feel like your own secret hideaway. Being introverted(内向的), she finds parks to be ideal relaxing zones for people like her. Yet, parks are also shared spaces. They’re different from shopping malls and cinemas for a particular reason, according to young stage designer Liu Xi, who sees parks as places that disagree with consumerism(消费主义). In parks, people can walk, boat, read under the trees, or simply be lost in thought on a long chair. “Parks offer a non-consumerist environment where one can find joy without opening their wallets,” Liu explained. Cheng Yuyan, the 25-year-old founder of the Douban interest group “We Love Strolling in the Park”, saw something interesting during her visits to parks in Japan. She noticed that locals donated park benches with their names on them. Additionally, many parks offered guidebooks detailing the history, geography and blooming schedules of the plants. Inspired by these practices, Cheng believes people can feel more connected to park by building a sense that they have part of the parks. She plans to encourage members of her Douban group to do similar things. “I hope our group takes more social responsibility. Each of us can become a protector and contributor to the parks and our city,” she said. 24. Why does the author raise a question in Paragraph 1? A. To seek for advice. B. To have a discussion. C. To introduce the topic. D. To express the author’s doubt. 25. What benefits can parks provide for more Chinese youths? A. Lowering working stress and relaxing themselves. B. Making more friends and getting closer to nature. C. Enriching knowledge of parks and opening their eyes. D. Feeling connected to the park and enjoying fun consuming. 26. What drives Cheng Yuyan to make a new practice? A. Her experience in Japan’s parks. B. The historical guidebooks in Japan’s parks. C. Her working experience in Japan. D. The foundation of parks-related interest group. 27. Which is the best title for this text? A. Parks: The Ideal Zone for Youngsters B. It allowed me to clear my mind and recover from the stress of work,” Huang explained.(“在那片草地上,我可以与活的植物和动物交流。 故选A。 根据最后一段“Cheng Yuyan, the 25-year-old founder of the Douban interest group “We Love Strolling in the Park”, saw something interesting during her visits to parks in Japan. From computers to smartphones, a web of information is open to them. According to a new report, about three out of four kids aged 12 to 15 connect the Internet using a mobile device from time to time. Many younger kids are online too. Julian Zeitlinger, 9, from New Jersey, uses his computer to watch videos and play games. To keep him safe online, his parents monitor his web use and discuss Internet safety with him. “I ask my parents whether something is nice or bad,” Julian says. Mobile devices offer more ways than ever to share personal information. The information can be dangerous in the wrong hands.A study found that 62% of children aged 8 to 17 have had an unpleasant online experience. Have you ever had to enter a parent's e-mail address when signing up for a website? That safety measure is there because of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The law says sites for kids under 13 cannot collect personal information, such as a phone number or full name, without a parent's permission. This July, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will update COPPA for the first time since the law was created in 1998 when there were no smart phones. The nature of the way kids get online has changed, FTC lawyer Phyllis Marcus said. When the changes take effect, COPPA will apply to mobile devices and newer forms of advertising. It will expand what falls under “personal information” to include videos, photographs, and services that give users location. COPPA doesn't cover everything that can go wrong online. That is why kids and parents need to know what to look out for and to stop and think before sharing information online. “There is a misunderstanding that if a site is following COPPA, it is totally safe,” says privacy expert Shai Samet. He runs kidSAFE, which checks whether a site meets kidSAFE standards and is safe. “It's important that kids know how useful the Internet is but that it also can be dangerous if you are not careful.” he adds. 28. Julian's parents check his web use to make sure ________. A. he doesn't watch too many videos B. he doesn't play computer games C. he controls his online time D. he stays safe on the Internet 29. What's one of the changes with COPPA? A. It broadens the concept of personal information. B It prevents users from making their location public. C. It covers everything that goes wrong online. D. It says no to any kind of advertising. 30. People often hold the wrong idea that ________. A. formal websites are always safe B. the Internet is becoming safer and safer C. COPPA can ensure their complete safety D. daily checks prevent future online problems 31. Why does the author write the passage? A. To ask parents to look out for their kids. B. To talk about online safety for children. C. To introduce a new law. D. To sell an online product. D 29. A 30. C 31. To keep him safe online, his parents monitor his web use and discuss Internet safety with him. It will expand what falls under “personal information” to include videos, photographs, and services that give users location. 故选A。 根据最后一段中“There is a misunderstanding that if a site is following COPPA, it is totally safe,” says privacy expert Shai Samet. For many kids, the Internet is at their fingertips. From computers to smartphones, a web of information is open to them. According to a new report, about three out of four kids aged 12 to 15 connect the Internet using a mobile device from time to time. Many younger kids are online too. Most of us have been put on the spot in a number of different situations, whether at work or among a group of friends. ___32___ However, you just aren’t ready to give, whether it’s because you don’t know or you’re not willing to share. It is really embarrassing. We’ve all been guilty of putting others on the spot ourselves, usually by accident. Perhaps we ask a sensitive question of a friend in a group setting, or try to push a quiet coworker to share their answers in a meeting. ___33___ Putting someone on the spot though, whether intentional or not, has the effect of destroying trust in a relationship. The key to maintaining the trust in a relationship is developing your emotional intelligence. ___34___ As Krauss wrote in a recent Psychology Today article, “A sign that you’re not as sensitive as you could be when you pressure people is that others try to stay away from you to the extent that they can.” ___35___ Are people born with the ability to develop a high level of emotional intelligence, or is that something they are taught? Although the answer is probably a little bit of both, strengthening your emotional intelligence is definitely something we can all do. ___36___ Listening, empathizing (共情), and reflecting are strategies that many of us have developed with time to strengthen our emotional intelligence, whether with the help of a professional or through our own trial-and-error. A. People are fed up with the dull and long wait. B. It can help us understand and handle a confusing situation. C. Even, we just want to make someone we don’t like uneasy. D. A core part of that is being able to perceive how others feel. E. A set of eyes turn toward you with the expectation for an answer. F. Many of us have got more emotionally intelligent as we get older. G. There is a debate on whether emotional intelligence is native or not. E 33. C 34. D 35. G 36. 【32题详解】 根据上文“Most of us have been put on the spot in a number of different situations, whether at work or among a group of friends.(无论是在工作中还是在一群朋友中,我们大多数人都曾在许多不同的情况下陷入困境)”以及后文“However, you just aren’t ready to give, whether it’s because you don’t know or you’re not willing to share. 【33题详解】 根据上文“We’ve all been guilty of putting others on the spot ourselves, usually by accident. Perhaps we ask a sensitive question of a friend in a group setting, or try to push a quiet coworker to share their answers in a meeting.(我们都曾为自己让别人陷入困境而感到内疚,通常是出于偶然。 【34题详解】 根据上文“Putting someone on the spot though, whether intentional or not, has the effect of destroying trust in a relationship. The key to maintaining the trust in a relationship is developing your emotional intelligence.(然而,无论是有意还是无意,把某人置于困境都会破坏一段关系中的信任。在一段关系中保持信任的关键是发展你的情商)”以及后文“As Krauss wrote in a recent Psychology Today article, “A sign that you’re not as sensitive as you could be when you pressure people is that others try to stay away from you to the extent that they can.”(克劳斯最近在《今日心理学》的一篇文章中写道:“当你给别人施加压力时,别人会尽量远离你,这表明你并没有像你想象的那么敏感。”)” 【35题详解】 根据后文“Are people born with the ability to develop a high level of emotional intelligence, or is that something they are taught? Although the answer is probably a little bit of both, strengthening your emotional intelligence is definitely something we can all do.(人们是天生就有能力发展高水平的情商,还是后天习得的? 【36题详解】 根据后文“Listening, empathizing (共情), and reflecting are strategies that many of us have developed with time to strengthen our emotional intelligence, whether with the help of a professional or through our own trial-and-error.(倾听、移情和反思是我们许多人随着时间的推移而发展起来的增强情商的策略,无论是在专业人士的帮助下,还是通过我们自己的试错)”可知,后文提到情商可以随着时间推移而发展,即情商随着年龄增长而变得越高。 第三部分 语言运用(共三节,满分40分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) Some years ago I was invited to give a keynote speech at a high-level meeting. I recognized that the kindest thing I could do for myself was to ____43____ concentrating totally on “me” and instead try to be ____44____ to others. So I stayed focused on what could be useful to other people rather than how I was ____45____. Surprisingly, my speech received great _____46_____. I understand that to get admiration, stop _____47_____ it, to take care of yourself, you need to take care of others first. This _____48_____ works for many people. We were dreaming of far-off destinations, our minds filled with images of thrilling adventures. After school on Friday, on my way home, I ran into my best friend. Enthusiastic about the vacations, I asked him about his plans. His eyes twinkled brightly as he replied, “I’m going to visit my grandparents with my parents for a week.” “Don’t you ever get tired of going to the same place year after year? I remember, every year, your family takes 7 to 10 days off to head back to your native village,” I asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity. “Oh, not at all! That’s the absolute best time of the year for me! Being with my folks in the village is just amazing.” His face beamed with joy as he continued, "In the village, I get to meet so many wonderful people, and everyone there is so kind and welcoming. Our neighborhood crew is tight! We’re always hanging out together, you know? Just running wild, chilling by the lake, or bouncing between each other’s houses. Honestly, I know what really matters about these village trips. It’s not the cool places we see — it’s spending time with the people I love. That’s the real treasure of life.” His words made me recall my own grandparents. I realized I hadn’t seen them for years. But still, it’s a pleasure to be there. … we had big long gardens and a big multi-story house. The next day, over breakfast, I mustered up the courage and asked my parents, “Can we visit grandparents this summer after exams?” Dad replied hesitantly, “Oh, that’s unexpected.” Mom was surprised. “Well, you know it gets really hot there this time of year.” After a short pause, Dad gave a small sigh and met my hopeful gaze. “However,” he said, “if you perform well in exams, we’ll make the trip.” For the next six weeks, I threw myself completely into my studies. My mom was amazed by this sudden transformation in me. Soon came the long-awaited exam results. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: I rushed home and immediately handed my parents my score card and a note with “PLEASE.” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: I saw my mom had tears in her eyes when leaving them. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: I rushed home and immediately handed my parents my score card and a note with “PLEASE.” This time, they instantly agreed. The next day, we set out for our hometown. Every one, be it relatives or neighbors, greeted us with smiles, treating me like their own son. Every day brought new happiness –- digging with Grandpa in the garden, playing games with cousins until sunset, roaming around familiar streets with loved ones and even joining the local kids in their football matches. The days passed as we had a wonderful time together. Truth be told, everything was more fun in a big family. When departure day came, my heart ached. I saw my mom had tears in her eyes when leaving them. She wiped them away and smiled, saying, “I didn’t realize how much I missed the village until now. It’s not just a place; it’s where our roots are.” As we drove away, I felt a mix of excitement and nostalgia. I realized that the real adventure wasn’t about exploring far-off places but about reconnecting with family and our heritage. This trip wasn’t just for me; it was a reminder for all of us that family is the true treasure of life. From then on, visiting Grandma and Grandpa became our annual tradition, a time to cherish love, laughter, and the simple joys of being together. 词汇激活 行为类: ①出发:set out/depart/embark on a journey ②漫游:roam/wander/stroll ③告别:depart/leave/say goodbye 情绪类: ①快乐:happiness/joy/delight ②兴奋,激动:excitement/exhilaration/thrill 【点睛】【高分句型1】Every one, be it relatives or neighbors, greeted us with smiles, treating me like their own son.(运用了现在分词短语作状语) 【高分句型2】I realized that the real adventure wasn’t about exploring far-off places but about reconnecting with family and our heritage.(运用了that引导的宾语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 郯城一中2024级6月份阶段性测试 英语学科试题 2025.06 考生须知: 1. What will Joe do? C. Young People and Parks: Connecting and Contributing C For many kids, the Internet is at their fingertips. B. D A core part of that is being able to perceive how others feel. E. A set of eyes turn toward you with the expectation for an answer. F. Many of us have got more emotionally intelligent as we get older. G. Paragraph 1: I rushed home and immediately handed my parents my score card and a note with “PLEASE.” ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: I saw my mom had tears in her eyes when leaving them. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$第一节听下面5段对话。 Hey, forgot to tell you, joe and anna are moving to paris. really. One of the things that concern me most is the future of the alaska environment. About twenty years ago, before going on, some wilderness research, I visited encourage. The largest city in IT was a small city of forty thousand people, surrounded by a quiet wilderness. When I made a recent trip there, I found amazing changes. Encourage now has one hundred and eight thousand people. There are two buildings, shopping centres and all the crowds and traffic jams. The forests and mountains are still nearby, but they seem so small compared to the city's great size. For today's lecture, i've brought along many of the pictures I usually show in my environmental science classes in my own university. First, i'll show you some pictures of alaska's wilder. This as IT is today. Then i'd like to outline my specific suggestions. Good afternoon.
