根据第一段“Jackson was walking home from school one afternoon when his untied shoelaces (鞋带) caught his foot. He almost fell.(一天下午,杰克逊放学回家时,解开的鞋带绊倒了他的脚。他差点摔倒。)”可知,他那时正在街上走路。故选C。
2. 推理判断题。根据第十一段“That night, Oliver got more information. ‘ __▲__ He doesn’t even remember anything about the accident! He won’t be at school for at least four weeks.’(那天晚上,奥利弗得到了更多的信息。‘ __▲__ 他甚至不记得任何关于事故的事!他至少要四个星期才能来学校。’)”可知,应该是受了重伤,B选项“杰克逊被车撞了,一直在流血”是一个小时之后传开的消息,不是那天晚上的,排除;所以选项D“他摔断了腿,头也受伤了”符合语境。故选D。
3. 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Everyone stopped talking and stared (瞪眼看) at him.(所有人都停止了交谈,
故选A。
根据第九段“The story began to spread. Within an hour, Kevin heard the whole story. ‘Jackson got hit by a car on his way home. There was blood everywhere, and he was sent to hospital.’(这个故事开始流传开来。不到一个小时,凯文就听到了整个故事。‘杰克逊在回家的路上被车撞了。到处都是血,他被送到了医院。’)”和第十段“That night, Oliver got more information. ‘Jackson broke his leg and his head was hurt. He doesn’t even remember anything! He won’t be at school for at least four weeks.’(那天晚上,奥利弗得到了更多的信息。‘杰克逊摔断了腿,头也受伤了。他什么都不记得了!他至少四周都不会上学了。’)”以及第十一段“The next morning, everybody at school was talking about Jackson.(第二天早上,学校里的每个人都在谈论杰克逊。)”
B
One day, a stork (鹳) saw a beautiful ring. It belonged to a rabbit. The rabbit went inside his hole, leaving the ring outside. The stork decided to try it on without asking. However, when she tried to take the ring off, it got stuck on her claw (爪子). She felt embarrassed. Since nobody had seen her, the stork flew off.
The rabbit was very angry to find that the ring had been stolen. Soon, everyone in the forest started to help the rabbit to look for the thief. When the stork found out what was happening, she thought, “Oh no! I have to do something.” She hid the ring by bandaging (用绷带包扎) her claws.
The stork thought she had solved the problem well, but later she ran into the rabbit. Seeing the bird was injured, the rabbit suggested taking her to the hospital right away. The stork just couldn’t say no.
Since her house was on the way to the hospital, the stork asked the rabbit to go first when she went to have some water. Once the stork got inside her house, she wrapped (包裹) her claws again and again so that the doctor wouldn’t see the ring. Feeling more relaxed, the stork flew off to meet the rabbit. But because of the added weight, she was not able to fly. She fell like a heavy stone and landed on the poor rabbit.
Soon, hundreds of animals rushed to them, and then they found the bandages and the ring. In one single morning, the stork lost all her friends because of the ring. After a long time, the stork met the rabbit. She apologized to the rabbit and told him the whole story. “I shouldn’t have kept making bigger lies to cover up the smaller ones,” she said. “I remember __▲__ .” Seeing the stork had learned the lesson, the rabbit was happy and helped her get her friends back.

根据第四段“But because of the added weight, she was not able to fly.(但由于体重增加,她无法飞行。)”
根据最后一段“She apologized to the rabbit and told him the whole story.(她向兔子道歉,并把整个故事都告诉了他。)”
根据最后一段“‘I shouldn’t have kept making bigger lies to cover up the smaller ones,’ she said.(‘我不应该一直编造更大的谎言来掩盖更小的谎言。’她说。)”可知,诚实和坦率是非常重要的,而撒谎只会让事情变得更糟,所以D项“诚实为上策”符合语境。故选D。
6. 标题归纳题。通读全文可知,本文主要讲述了一只鹤偷戴了兔子的戒指,但是却拿不下来戒指,所以她不得不编造一些谎话遮盖她的行为,所以标题应为“一连串的谎言”。故选A。

After that, we went on down the river. It was very dark that night and it wasn’t easy to see where we were going. Suddenly, a big steamboat came at us very fast, and the next minute it was right over us. Jim and I jumped off the raft (木筏) into the water. The boat hit the raft and went on up the river.
When I came up out of the water, I couldn’t see Jim anywhere. I called out his name again and again, but there was no answer. “He’s dead!” I thought. Slowly, I swam to the side of the river and got out. I saw that I was near a big old wooden house. Suddenly a lot of very angry dogs jumped out at me. They made a terrible noise and someone called from the house, “Who’s there?”
“George Jackson,” I answered quickly, “I’ve fallen off a river boat.”
Well, the people who lived in that house were very kind, and they took me in and gave me some new clothes and a good meal. I told them that my family were all dead, so they said I could stay with them as long as I wanted. It was a beautiful house and the food was good there, so I stayed.
A few days later one of the slaves (奴隶) in the house came to me and said, “Come with me!” Together, we went down to some trees by the river. “In there!” he said and went away.
On the ground, I found a man, asleep. It was Jim! I was really pleased to see him. When the steamboat hit the raft, Jim told me the raft didn’t break up. Jim swam after it and caught it. Then he began to look for me.
We decided to leave at once. It’s all right living in a house for a little while, but you feel more free and easy and comfortable on a raft.
1. Why did George Jackson answer “quickly” when someone called from the house?
A. George felt happy and lucky. B. George felt afraid and nervous.
C. George didn’t want to lie to him. D. George really wanted to stay there.
2. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 6 refer to?
A. The boat. B. The house. C. The raft. D. The dog.
3. Put the following in the right order according to the passage.
①The boat hit the raft. ②Jim looked for George.
③George saw a big house. ④George got some new clothes.
⑤George found Jim on the ground. ⑥George and Jim jumped off the raft into the water.
A. ①②⑥③⑤④ B. ①③④②⑤⑥ C. ⑥①②④③⑤ D. ⑥①③④②⑤
4. What can we infer (推断) from the passage?
A. George and Jim would go on down the river.
B. George and Jim would become the family’s slaves.
C. George and Jim would not get on well with each other.
D. George would go on living happily with the kind family.
5. Which of these old sayings best fits this story?
A. It never rains but it pours. B. Every dog has its day.
C. Burn the candle at both ends. D. Many hands make light work.

根据第二段“Suddenly a lot of very angry dogs jumped out at me.(突然,一群非常生气的狗向我扑来。)”以及“They made a terrible noise and someone called from the house, ‘Who’s there?’(他们发出可怕的声音,有人从房子里喊道:‘谁在那儿?’)”
根据第六段“When the steamboat hit the raft, Jim told me the raft didn’t break up. Jim swam after it and caught it.(吉姆告诉我当汽船撞上木筏时,木筏没有破裂。吉姆游到它后面,抓住了它。)”可知,代词it代指的是“木筏”。故选C。
3. 事件排序题。根据第一段“Jim and I jumped off the raft into the water. The boat hit the raft and went on up the river.(吉姆和我跳下木筏跳进水里。小船撞上了木筏,继续向上游驶去。)”可知,⑥应排在第一位,①应排在第二位;根据第二段“I saw that I was near a big old wooden house.”(我看到我在一座又大又旧的木屋附近。)”可知,③应排在第三位;根据第四段“Well, the people who lived in that house were very kind, and they took me in and gave me some new clothes and a good meal.(嗯,住在那所房子里的人很好,他们收留了我,给了我一些新衣服和一顿美餐。)”可知,④应排在第四位;根据第六段“Then he began to look for me. 可知,②应排在第五位;根据第六段“On the ground, I found a man, asleep. It was Jim!
根据最后一段“We decided to leave at once. It’s all right living in a house for a little while, but you feel more free and easy and comfortable on a raft.(我们决定马上离开。在房子里住一段时间没什么,但在木筏上你会觉得更自由自在和舒适。)可知,乔治和吉姆不会留下来,而是会继续沿河而下。故选A。

You often hear “New year, new me” in the UK on the first of January. It is very common to start a new year’s resolution on this day. This can be to give up something, like sweets or chocolate, so you can be healthier. People also like to start doing something new. There are so many things you can do! Many people I know decide to play sports and eat healthier food as their new year’s resolution. Many become heavier after the holidays as they often eat lot.
I think new year’s resolutions are great ideas to give people motivation to do something good for themselves. When other people have the same resolution as yours, it helps you to stick to your own. For example, you could go jogging with a group of friends several times a week. That can be so much fun and help you to keep the resolution.
Also, I think it is important for you to choose something realistic as a new year’s resolution. In the past, I have given up chocolate, stopped eating meat and started doing kung fu. Soon after that, I gave up some of these things, such as not eating chocolate. They were too difficult to keep. And some I kept on with and still do now.
This year, my resolution is to travel less by plane. Living in the UK, it was very difficult to travel without a car and not by plane. But now I live in Germany, and I find it much easier to travel by another mode of transport. There are more environmentally friendly ways that I can choose like travelling by train or bus. Though it’s more expensive, I know that I will do harm to the environment much less.
1. When do people often start new year’s resolutions in the UK?
__________________________________________________________________
2. What resolutions did the writer make to keep healthy in the past?
__________________________________________________________________
3. Where does the writer live now?
__________________________________________________________________
4. Why does the writer choose to travel less by plane this year?
__________________________________________________________________
5. What does the passage mainly talk about?
