Happily Forever After Rescue is an animal help centre. The workers in it
often think about interesting ideas to get their dogs adopted(领养).
班级 Jaclyn Gartner is one of the workers. There is a seven-year-old dog with onlyone ear at the centre. When she finds that no one wants to adopt the dog, she
thinks of an idea. She lets the dog paint beautiful pictures. To her surprise,
people love his pictures. And the dog has a cool name now—Van Gogh.

C
There are over 37,000 known species of spiders in different shapes and
sizes in the world. The largest spiders live in the rain forests of South America
and are known as the“bird-eating”spiders. These spiders can grow up to
28cm long and they eat small birds. The smallest spiders are from Western
Samoa. These tiny spiders are less than 0.5mm long. They live in the plants
that grow on mountain rocks.
Some people like to keep spiders as pets, but most people don't like
touching them. A great number of people are afraid of them, mainly because
of their poison—something will cause death or harm. However, only thirty
species of spiders are very dangerous to humans. Spiders provide benefits for
humans by catching and eating insects, such as flies and mosquitoes. Spiders
are different from other animals, because they make webs to catch the small
insects for food. The special silk of a spider's web is light and strong—five
times stronger than steel(钢). Some people have tried to raise spiders in
order to collect their silk, but no one has ever succeeded in doing it. One
reason is that it takes 670,000 spiders to produce half a kilo of silk, and all
of these spiders needliving insects for their food. Besides, spiders are usually
solitary(独自的)animals, and need to be kept alone.
All in all, people are amazed to learn that there are so many secrets in
spiders!

The sun bear is the smallest bear, with a body length of 48 to 60 inches.
Sun bears prefer rainforests(雨林). They are believed to sleep in trees. The
sun bear is not a big meat-eater. The sun bear often uses its long tongue(舌
头)for eating termites(白蚁).
The name “sun bear”comes from the pale circle on its chest(胸膛). They
have short, black fur with a golden or white horseshoe(马掌)shape on their
chests. It is also known as “honey bear” because of its love for the sweet food.
With only 600 to 1,000 left in the wild in the rainforests of South Asia,
it is in danger. People are cutting down trees and using the land for farming.
So the rainforests where the sun bear lives are becoming smaller and smaller.
Sun bears are killed because their meat is delicious and parts of their body
can be made into traditional medicine. People also like to keep young sun
bears as pets and kill the mother bears. So the sun bear needs our help.

Hello, everyone. Welcome to my channel. Today I'd like to
introduce something about the ginkgo tree. The ginkgo tree is one of
the most ancient living trees on earth. Ginkgo trees first appeared over
200 million years ago. Chinese people love the ginkgo,as it is a
symbol of hope and long life. Many Chinese believe that the old ginkgo
tree in the Zhongnan Mountains in Shaanxi Province is the most
beautiful. Thousands of tourists come to see it each year, especially in
mid-0ctober,as it is the best time to see it. The ginkgo tree is one of
the commonest trees in streets, parks, and gardens across China.
When autumn comes, one of the most popular activities is to take a
walk under ginkgo trees. People believe the bright yellow leaves can
bring joy to their heart.

because they grow taller and can reach 100 metres. As for animals,I
like the cheetah because it runs very fast. Bees are fun and smart. I

Protecting Mother Nature
Mother Nature is very important to us. We should take action to
protect it.
First,we should reduce pollution. We can walk or ride bicycles to
school. Second, we should turn off the lights when leaving a room.
And we should save water. Water is the source of life. We should not
waste it. Third, we should not litter. We should put the rubbish in the
bin. Fourth, we should plant more trees. Trees can make the air clean
and prevent soil erosion.
Let's work together to protect Mother Nature and make our earth a
better place to live in.
