Step 1: Lead-in
Show some pictures to set up a situation:
Liz and Gus went to the Planet X, but their spaceship was damaged because of a crash and they got lost on Planet X. Now, they are asking their captain,Troy, for help to get to the mother ship.
Step 2: Pre-listening
Predicting: Look at the map and guess what each part is.
(spaceship, desert, lake, mountains, town, landing site)
Step 3: While-listening
Task 1: Listen to the captain’s instructions and help Liz and Gus label the map with the words from the box.
Task 2: Listen to the captain’s instructions again and complete the notes below. Write one word in each blank.
Step 4: Post-listening
