根据Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, Thailand中的“In addition to the rides, the park hosts performances at its Mega Wave Pool, where guests can hang out in the pool while enjoying movie screenings and pop concerts.(除了游乐设施,公园还在其Mega Wave Pool举办表演,客人可以在泳池里闲逛,同时欣赏电影放映和流行音乐会)”可知,在Columbia Pictures Aquaverse,游客可以欣赏一场流行音乐会。 根据Katmandu Park, Dominican Republic中的“Tickets from $120 for adults: $85 for children for a one-use pass(成人票价120美元,儿童一次通票85美元)”可知,带着一个孩子的夫妇至少需付120*2+85= $325。 Peppa Pig Theme Park, the US中的“The Daddy Pig ride takes families on a windy road in the show’s red car. (在The Daddy Pig这个骑行项目里,一家人可以乘坐红色汽车在蜿蜒的路上行进)”和Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, Thailand中的“The movie-themed water park features rides and experiences inspired by popular films like Zombieland. In addition to the rides, the park hosts performances at its Mega Wave Pool, where guests can hang out in the pool while enjoying movie screenings and pop concerts.(这座以电影为主题的水上乐园的游乐设施和体验灵感来自热门电影《僵尸乐园》。除了游乐设施,公园还在其Mega Wave Pool举办表演,客人可以在泳池里闲逛,同时欣赏电影放映和流行音乐会)”以及Katmandu Park, Dominican Republic中的“The 4D dark ride is brought to life by lighting and projection effects.( (灯光和投影效果使4D黑暗之旅栩栩如生)”和Legoland Korea Resort, South Korea中的“This playful wonderland is devoted to all things of Lego, with more than 40 rides and attractions across seven thematic zones.(这个有趣的仙境致力于乐高的所有东西,在七个主题区内有40多个骑行游乐设施和景点)” 可推知,这四个主题公园有共同点是都有骑乘项目。故选A。 B I remember that it was a fall morning when the orchestra (管弦乐队) teachers came into Miss Newell’s third-grade classroom. “You have hands for the viola (中提琴),” Miss Ciano told me. I was excited because my hands were finally good for something. I told my parents I wanted to play, and naturally, they agreed. Since I first touched the viola, I haven’t been able to put it down. Ignoring the difficulty, I am pulled closer to it each day. Classical music is truly my best friend. It is the trusted friend of every man, woman and child. Various feelings are expressed in classical music. I discovered that when I was eleven and played a cello concerto (大提琴协奏曲) of Bach in a competition, the first movement was joyful, but the second movement was mysterious and full of pain. From the piece, I learned that music expresses not only feelings, but also sudden mood changes. By listening to classical music, I know that someone else shares these feelings. Since I am lucky enough to be able to play classical music, I am comforted by it when I am upset. It gives me a way to escape from my problems for a short period. Classical music can express my joy, sadness and anger. Now look back at that fall day in the third grade and think how gullible I was for believing that anyone, even music teachers, could tell whether hands were perfect for a certain instrument. I’m certain they told me I had “viola hands” not because they were fortune-tellers, but because there was a lack of violists in our district. Classical music is one of the best things that ever happened to mankind. If you get introduced to it in the right way, it will become your friend for life. 4. What’s the main cause of the author’s interest in playing the viola? A. Interesting musical classes. B. Beautiful viola sound. C. Teachers’ proper guidance. D. Parents’ strong support. 5. According to the passage, in what way does classical music help the author? A. By developing social skills. B. By giving emotional comfort. C. By broadening life experience. D. By building close relationship. 6 What does the underlined word “gullible” mean in the last paragraph? A. Easily tricked. B. Firmly loved. C. Greatly challenged. D. Secretly hidden. 7. Which could be the best title for the passage? A. Special Event, Sweet Memory. B. Classical Music, Endless Friendship. C. Lifetime Dream, Great effort. D. Happy Childhood, Unforgotten Experience. C 5. B 6. A 7. 根据第一段““You have hands for the viola (中提琴),” Miss Ciano told me. I was excited because my hands were finally good for something.(“你的手很适合拉中提琴,”齐亚诺小姐对我说。我很兴奋,因为我的手终于有用武之地了)”可知,作者对演奏中提琴感兴趣的主要原因是教师的正确引导。故选C项。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“By listening to classical music, I know that someone else shares these feelings. Since I am lucky enough to be able to play classical music, I am comforted by it when I am upset.(通过听古典音乐,我知道其他人也有同样的感受。因为我很幸运能够演奏古典音乐,所以当我心烦意乱的时候,我就会得到安慰)”可知,古典音乐可以给予作者情感上的安慰。故选B项。 【6题详解】 词句猜测题。根据划线词后文“for believing that anyone, even music teachers, could tell whether hands were perfect for a certain instrument. I’m certain they told me I had “viola hands” not because they were fortune-tellers, but because there was a lack of violists in our district(因为相信任何人,甚至是音乐老师,都能分辨出某人的手是否适合弹奏某种乐器。 故选A项。 通读全文,尤其是根据第三段“Classical music is truly my best friend.(古典音乐是我最好的朋友)”和文章最后一句“If you get introduced to it in the right way, it will become your friend for life.(如果你以正确的方式了解它,它将成为你终生的朋友)”可知,本文主要讲述了作者一个偶然的机会开始拉中提琴,从此古典音乐成了作者最好的朋友。 C When visiting a doctor in the future, you can expect to be accompanied by a virtual version of yourself. This so-called digital twin will be a working model of your body that can be shown onto a physician’s computer screen. Updated with your latest vital signs, it will help the doctor make an accurate diagnosis (诊断) and provide personalized treatments for the patients. No matter how unreal this might seem, the researchers at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) already use computer simulations (模拟) of the hearts of patients to test different treatments for a heart disorder. It would be far too dangerous to experiment this way on someone’s real heart. Digital twins are starting to be seen everywhere. They can not only monitor the health of jet engines on airliners, but also help carmakers spend fewer years on the development of new models by simulating test drives and crashes. All this is being powered by recent progress in artificial intelligence(AI), which gives twins the ability to make predictions about their physical counterparts (对应的事物), and adjust themselves based on new information. Digital twins make it easier for humans to solve challenging problems, allowing people to have a look into the future. For businesses, this should mean better designs and operations. For society, the promise is also fascinating: personalized health care, and ways to prevent the earth from environmental disasters. Could these virtual twins go out of control? They might if they are programmed badly, or hacked into. Digital twins will take in mountains of data, some of it wrong and much of it raising concerns about privacy. Yet those risks are a natural part of technological progress. The appearance of the digital mirror world will raise new questions, but its potential benefits are already easy to see. 8. Which of the following best describes a digital twin? A. A virtual copy. B. A video game. C. A toy model. D. A medical database. 9. Why do researchers at QMUL use computer simulations of hearts? A. To reduce the time of the heart operation. B. To use real hearts much more conveniently. C. To help increase the patients’ recovery rates. D. To avoid the danger of experimenting on real hearts. 10. How does AI contribute to the development of digital twins? A. It increases the efficiency of simulations through data analysis. B. It creates accurate digital copies for medical and industrial use. C. It enables digital twins to predict results and adapt autonomously. D. It improves virtual models by adding real-time monitoring features. 11. What is the author’s attitude towards the digital twins? A. Critical. B. Positive. C. Doubtful. D. Unconcerned. A 9. D 10. C 11. 根据第一段“This so-called digital twin will be a working model of your body that can be shown onto a physician’s computer screen.(这种所谓的“数字孪生体”将成为你身体的一个可运行模型,能够显示在医生的电脑屏幕上。)” 故选A。 根据第二段“the researchers at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) already use computer simulations (模拟) of the hearts of patients to test different treatments for a heart disorder. It would be far too dangerous to experiment this way on someone’s real heart.(伦敦玛丽女王大学(QMUL)的研究人员已在使用患者心脏的计算机模拟来测试针对某心脏疾病的不同治疗方法。以这种方式在真实的心脏上进行实验实在是太危险了)”可知,伦敦大学的研究人员对心脏进行计算机模拟实验是为了避免在真实心脏上进行实验所带来的风险。故选D。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“All this is being powered by recent progress in artificial intelligence(AI), which gives twins the ability to make predictions about their physical counterparts (对应的事物), and adjust themselves based on new information.(这一切都得益于人工智能(AI)领域的最新进展,使孪生技术能够对实际对象进行预测,并根据新信息进行自我调整)”可知,人工智能使数字孪生体能够自主预测结果并进行调整。 根据最后一段“The appearance of the digital mirror world will raise new questions, but its potential benefits are already easy to see.(数字镜像世界的出现会引发新的问题,但其潜在的益处已经显而易见)”可知,作者对数字孪生技术持积极态度。故选B。 D Human doctors perform amputations, surgical (外科的) removals of an arm, leg, or finger, after a serious injury. But new research shows that some ants perform amputations on injured ants to help them survive an injury. Two carpenter ants are seen in a laboratory at the University of Lausanne. Scientists said they either cleaned the wound using their mouthparts or amputated the limb, or leg, by biting it off. The choice of care was determined by where the injury occurred on the leg. When it was further up the leg, they always amputated. When it was further down, they never amputated. Erik Frank of the University of Wurzburg in Germany is the lead writer of the research. Frank said the study describes “for the first time how a non-human animal uses amputations on another individual to save their life.” He believes “that the ants’ ‘medical system’ to care for the injured is the most complicated in the animal kingdom,” and compares well to human medicine. “Injuries further down the leg have an increased flow of hemolymph (血淋巴),” Frank said. So harmful bacteria can enter the body after only five minutes. An amputation would not help infection after that time. He continued, “Injuries further up the leg have a much slower hemolymph flow, giving enough time for timely and effective amputations.” The study found that after an upper leg injury, an ant that experiences amputation has a survival rate of 95 to 97 percent. For lower leg injuries in which just cleaning was performed, the survival rate was about 75 percent, compared to about 15 percent for injuries that received no care. And only female ants perform the treatment of wounds by cleaning or amputation. “All worker ants are female. Males play only a minor role in ant community,” Frank said. So why do ants do these amputations? Frank said, “There is a very simple evolutionary reason for caring for the injured. It saves resources.” He noted that if an ant could be saved with little effort to remain productive, “there is a very high value of doing so.” “At the same time, if an individual is too heavily injured, the ants will not care for her, but rather leave her behind to die,” Frank added. 12. What determines the type of treatment applied to injured ants? A. The role of the ants. B. The location of the injury. C. The timing of the treatment. D. The speed of the blood flow. 13. Why do carpenter ants avoid amputating lower leg injuries? A. The injury is too minor to require amputation. B. Amputating lower legs would cause sharp pain. C. The injury is too close to the foot to ensure the effort. D. Hemolymph flows too fast for amputation to function. 14. What can be inferred about ant societies from the study? A. Injured ants get the same care regardless of their condition. B. Ants’ medical practices are as complex as human medicine. C. Ants develop medical behavior to compete with other species. D. Resource efficiency is prioritized in caring for injured members. 15. What is the passage mainly about? A. How ants pool resources. B. How ants perform amputations. C. How injured ants are treated. D. How amputations affect ants. B 13. D 14. D 15. 根据第二段“The choice of care was determined by where the injury occurred on the leg. When it was further up the leg, they always amputated. When it was further down, they never amputated. (治疗方式的选择取决于受伤部位在腿上的位置。如果受伤部位靠近腿部上方,蚂蚁会进行截肢;如果靠近下方,则不会截肢)”可知,对受伤蚂蚁采取何种治疗方式是由受伤部位在腿上的位置决定的。故选B项。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中“‘Injuries further down the leg have an increased flow of hemolymph (血淋巴),’ Frank said. So harmful bacteria can enter the body after only five minutes. An amputation would not help infection after that time. (弗兰克说:“腿部下方的伤口会使血淋巴流动加快,因此有害细菌仅需五分钟就可以进入体内。在那之后,截肢手术也无法帮助抑制感染。”)”可知,腿部较低处受伤时,血淋巴流动加快,有害细菌很快就会进入体内,截肢在这种情况下无法起到阻止感染的作用,所以木匠蚁避免对腿部较低处的受伤进行截肢。故选D项。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中Frank所说的“There is a very simple evolutionary reason for caring for the injured. It saves resources. (照顾受伤同伴有一个简单的进化原因:节省资源)”以及“At the same time, if an individual is too heavily injured, the ants will not care for her, but rather leave her behind to die. (与此同时,如果某只蚂蚁受伤过重,同类不会照顾它,而是会将其抛弃任其死亡)”可推断出,在蚂蚁社会中,照顾受伤成员时优先考虑资源效率。故选D项。 【15题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第一段“But new research shows that some ants perform amputations on injured ants to help them survive an injury. As a baby, Jack’s remarkable swimming journey began. At ten months, he already practised with swim aids. At six, he won his first swimming competition in a group for kids ten-and-under. At seven, he stayed at the pool from nine in the morning till eight hours later. His mother, recognizing his gift, took it as her duty to guide him. _____16_____ By a young age, Jack had been ranked the number one swimmer of the country, a title he held for a record-breaking duration. _____17_____He played skiing, tennis, soccer, and many more. Sam was a kid who loved to play, and his parents had no particular athletic ambitions for him. It was nearing his teens that he began to focus more on basketball. _____18_____In his mid-thirties, an age by which many professional basketball players are typically retired, Sam was still in the national basketball team. Top athletes like Jack at the peak of their abilities do spend more time on focused, deliberate practice than their peers (同龄人). But scientists also find that potential champions typically devote less time to deliberate practice in childhood, but more to “sampling” various activities. _____19_____ In a world that demands people to specialize early, we face a challenge to keep the benefits of diverse experiences and delayed concentration. There’s a need for those with Jack’s early focus. _____20_____— People who start with many different things and accept various experiences. People with range. A. There was no time to waste. B. And it was all going according to plan. C. The growing complexity of the world also calls for more Sams. D. But it didn’t seem to hold back his development in the long run. E. In reality, the Sam’s path to success is far more common, yet less told. F. In contrast to Jack, Sam didn’t show significant sporting talent until later. G. Unlike the swimming talent, Sam’s early years were filled with a variety of sports. B 17. G 18. D 19. E 20. 【16题详解】 根据上文“His mother, recognizing his gift, took it as her duty to guide him. (他的母亲认出了他的天赋,把引导他当作自己的责任。)”和下文“By a young age, Jack had been ranked the number one swimmer of the country, a title he held for a record-breaking duration. (在很小的时候,杰克就被列为全国第一游泳运动员,他保持了破纪录的冠军头衔。)”可知,本空要表达母亲认识到杰克的天赋后,如何指导他,以及杰克如何取得全国排名第一的游泳运动员称号。根据后文杰克取得的成绩,可以看出母亲的指导非常有效,一切都在按照计划进行。选项B“一切都按计划进行”符合语境。故选B。 【17题详解】 根据下文“He played skiing, tennis, soccer, and many more. (他滑雪、网球、足球等等。)”可知,此处在描述山姆小时候参与了多种体育活动,这与杰克专注于游泳形成了对比。选项G“与游泳天赋不同,山姆的早年充满了各种运动。”符合语境。故选G。 【18题详解】 根据上文“It was nearing his teens that he began to focus more on basketball. (在他十几岁的时候,他开始更加专注于篮球。)”和下文“In his mid-thirties, an age by which many professional basketball players are typically retired, Sam was still in the national basketball team. (在他三十多岁的时候,许多职业篮球运动员通常都会退役,山姆仍然在国家篮球队。)”可知,此处描述山姆在篮球方面的成就,尽管他少年时没有专注,临近青少年才专注篮球,但这并未阻碍他的长远发展。选项D“但从长远来看,这似乎并没有阻碍他的发展。”恰好说明这个转折和强调。故选D。 【19题详解】 根据上文“Top athletes like Jack at the peak of their abilities do spend more time on focused, deliberate practice than their peers (同龄人). But scientists also find that potential champions typically devote less time to deliberate practice in childhood, but more to “sampling” various activities. 【20题详解】 根据上文“In a world that demands people to specialize early, we face a challenge to keep the benefits of diverse experiences and delayed concentration. There’s a need for those with Jack’s early focus. On our first date, my now-husband asked, “What’s your favourite book?” The ___21___ was the first clue that his heart already belonged to another: books. One warm spring day, a little dog followed them home after school. It had short legs and long lovely cars, with a fawn-colored coat. It was the cutest dog I had over seen and the girls begged me to keep it. The dog was barely twelve weeks old. It had no collar or identifying marks of any sort, I didn't know what to do. I thought about running an advertisement in the lost-and-found but I really didn't want to. It would break the kids' hearts if someone should show up. Besides, its owners should have watched it more closely. By the end of the week the dog was part of our family. It was very intelligent and good with the girls. The following week something told me to check the lost-and-found section in the local paper. One particular advertisement jumped out at me and my heart pounded with fear at what I read. Someone was begging for the return of a lost dog in the neighborhood of our grade school. They sounded desperate. My hand shook. I couldn't bring myself to pick up the phone. Instead, I pretended I hadn't seen the advertisement. I quickly put paper away in the drawer and continued with my dusting. I never said a word about it to the kids or my husband. By now we had named the dog. It looked like a Molly, so that was what we called it. It followed the girls everywhere they went. When they went outside, it was one step behind them. .When they did housework, it was there to lend a hand. There was only one problem with this otherwise perfect picture: my conscience was bothering me. I knew in my heart I had to call that number and see if our Molly was the dog they were desperately seeking. It was the most difficult thing I've ever done. With mixed feelings, I finally picked up the phone. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Opening the door, I saw a woman with a little girl sitting in a small wheelchair. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】With mixed feelings, I finally picked up the phone. Secretly I was praying no one would answer, but a woman did. As I described the dog to her in detail, her voice shook with excitement and she wanted to come right over. Within minutes I heard a vehicle pull up at the driveway and some footsteps stop at the door. Head cradled in my hands and heart hammering, a thousand thoughts crossed my mind: I could pretend I wasn’t home or tell her, “I’m sorry, you have the wrong address.” But it was too late: the bell rang and Molly was barking. Opening the door, I saw a woman with a little girl sitting in a small wheelchair. One look at Molly, and the little girl’s face lit up. “Here, Lucy,” she yelled, “Come here!” Molly instantly obeyed, wagging her tail wildly. My heart sank. Seemingly sensing my feelings, the woman explained that Lucy(Molly) was more than just a puppy to her daughter, who was left crippled for life in an accident. “Lucy gave her a reason to live,” she choked. Suddenly I felt relieved. God has blessed me with so much, I thought. As they pulled out of the drive, I smiled, knowing I had done the right thing—that puppy was exactly where she belonged. 词汇激活 行为类 激动地颤抖:be excited to shake/shake excitedly 过来:come over/ drop over 想到:come to one's mind/occur to sb. 情绪类 开心:face light up/fresh with energy 沮丧:heart sank/feel dispirited 【点睛】[高分句型1] As I described the dog to her in detail, her voice shook with excitement and she wanted to come right over.( as引导的时间状语从句) [高分句型2] As they pulled out of the drive, I smiled, knowing I had done the right thing—that puppy was exactly where she belonged.( where引导的表语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 厦门双十中学2024级高一下学期第二次月考 英语试题 第一部分 听力(共2节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。 1.What did the man repair? B I remember that it was a fall morning when the orchestra (管弦乐队) teachers came into Miss Newell’s third-grade classroom. 6. What does the underlined word “gullible” mean in the last paragraph? A. Easily tricked. B. Firmly loved. C. Greatly challenged. D. Secretly hidden. 7. Which could be the best title for the passage? A. Special Event, Sweet Memory. B. Classical Music, Endless Friendship. C. Lifetime Dream, Great effort. D. Happy Childhood, Unforgotten Experience. C When visiting a doctor in the future, you can expect to be accompanied by a virtual version of yourself. D Human doctors perform amputations, surgical (外科的) removals of an arm, leg, or finger, after a serious injury. As a baby, Jack’s remarkable swimming journey began. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
