When Philip Sontag first visited Antarctica as a Ph. D. student, he brought back an unusual gift: a huge bag of penguin feathers. Ten years later, Sontag and his research team have found the way of using penguins' feathers to help scientists map mercury(汞) pollution in Antarctica. As a toxic thing from gold mining, mercury enters the food chain and harms wildlife.
During the years, Philip Sontag has led the team to analyze feathers from seven kinds of penguins across the Southern Ocean. They discovered that mercury levels in feathers are related to the carbon-13. So, penguins in the farther north with warmer waters usually have higher level of carbon-13, and there was more mercury.
Because of that, penguins become a biological mark. They lose mercury through feathers during molting(褪毛) so that they don't get hurt. This allows scientists to map pollution's movement in the natural system better instead of just studying some samples. For example, penguin groups had different mercury levels because of their eating habits and their new homes. These findings, published in Science of the Total Environment, could help guide the way to protect the natural world.
Scientists also note that penguins are perfect for such studies. Firstly, they live in groups, making it easy to collect feathers. Second, they molt a lot more before the breeding(繁育) seasons. These differences help to make clear of the mercury level change.
56. What did Philip Sontag bring from Antarctica 10 years ago?
A. A penguin. B. A huge bag. C. Some feathers. D. A common gift.
57. What does the underlined word“toxic” mean in Paragraph 1?

59. Which is the correct finding published in Science of the Total Environment?
A. Penguins molted a lot because they were hurt by the mercury.
B. Penguins’ feathers help scientists record mercury pollution movement.
C. Penguin groups are less helpful in mapping pollution's movement than studying some samples.
D. Penguins' feathers can be directly used to protect natural world.
60. What is the best title for this passage?
A. Penguin Feathers Mark Mercury Pollution
B. Penguins Living in Antarctica
C. The Penguin Research Team of Philip Sontag

According to Aristotle, excellence is not an act, but a habit. Habits can make or break your level of success in life. Here are some simple steps for building positive habits.
Step 1: Focus on One New Habit
A concept known as“ego depletion” will be one of your biggest challenges to habit formation.Ego depletion means a decrease in self-control ability after too much self-regulation. That means, having too much pressure from goals is less likely to succeed. Because of this, it's important to work on only one habit at a time.
Step 2: Keep Your New Habit for at Least 30 Days
Some people say it takes 21 days to build a habit, while others believe it takes up to 66 days. The truth is that it varies from person to person and habit to habit. My advice is to commit to a specific habit for the next 30 days.
Step 3: Add Your New Habit to Your Daily Schedule
A habit shouldn't be only based upon goals or need. Instead, you should add this habit to the behaviors that you have already had every day.
Step 4: Focus on Little Habits
For those unexpected challenges in life, the secret to lifelong habit formation is to take small steps until the new habit becomes natural.
Step 5: Reward Important Milestones
A new habit doesn't have to be boring. Instead, you can build a reward system into the process,so you can celebrate those important milestones.
76. How many steps are mentioned to build positive habits according to the passage?
77. What is one of the biggest challenges to habit formation?
78. Why is it important to work on only one habit at a time?
79. According to the author, how long does it take to stick to a new habit?
80. What is the secret to lifelong habit formation?

People who develop good habits can live a wonderful life. Reading and doing sports are my two good habits.
When I was a child, I didn't enjoy reading books. My mother noticed that. She bought many books for me and read with me every night.Gradually, I began to fall in love with reading. For sport, my favorite is basketball because it helps me keep fit. I join my school basketball team so that Ican play basketball every day.
These two habits have changed me a lot. While reading, I learn more about the world. While playing basketball, I relax myself and keep healthy. Now I am a better person
