1.The woman ________ herself Mrs. Sun is my neighbour who always helps me. While he was reading the “best paper in the class”, a red “warning” flag suddenly went up. Later, Aumann asked the student whether he had written the essay himself. The student shook his head. He admitted (承认) using ChatGPT, a chatbot that is able to answer questions as well as write emails, poems and articles. Since artificial intelligence lab OpenAI released ChatGPT, the chatbot has enjoyed huge welcome. Students are using it to do their homework. All over the world, professors like Aumann are redesigning their courses in response to this. Some have decided to include more oral exams and handwritten papers. Gone are tasks like “write five pages about this or that.” Instead, Professors are designing questions that they hope will be too clever for chatbots. Some are asking students to write about their own lives. Some also worry that ChatGPT could be used to spread incorrect information. However, many schools are unwilling to ban (禁止) the use of ChatGPT altogether. In the first place, they don’t believe a ban would be useful. Students will find ways to use ChatGPT if they want to. Moreover, chatbots are unlikely to be the last technological development. Rather than stay away from them, students and teacher alike should learn to make proper use of them. The University at Buffalo in New York, for example, has introduced a discussion of AI tools in its courses. The school is using it to help students to understand both the strengths and the weaknesses of chatbots. Some students have started learning how to work alongside AI tools. Lizzie Shackney, a student at the University of Pennsylvania, uses ChatGPT to quickly produce a large number of possibly useful ideas for her papers. She then thinks over these ideas and decides what to include in her papers and what not to include. “With AI tools, I won’t have to spin my wheels,” she said. “But I am also not going to depend on them to do everything for me.” 5.While the professor was reading an article, why did a red “warning” flag go up? ( ) A.To show the paper was well written B.To point out the main idea of the article C.To show it may be written by ChatGPT D.To show the computer may catch virus 6.To prevent students using chatbot to help with homework, what do some professors do? ( ) A.Design tasks like “write five pages about this or that” B.Only ask their students to hand in handwritten papers C.Design questions too clever for students to answer D.Design questions that chatbot can’t answer easily 7.Which function of ChatGPT isn’t mentioned in this passage? ( ) A.Writing articles B.Answering questions C.Talking with people D.Writing emails 8.What’s the main idea of Paragraph3? ( ) A.It is necessary to keep students away from ChatGPT B.It is important to help students use Chat GPT properly C.It is wise to ban the use of Chat GPT at universities D.It is necessary for universities to ban AI tools in class 9.What does the underlined phrase “spin my wheels” in the last paragraph mean? ( ) A.waste my time or effort B.waste my talent or youth C.waste my power or space D.waste my money or energy (way to do ) _______________________________________________________________________________ 11. To keep healthy, you should give up the habit of __________ _________ late. 12.It’s time for dinner.(改为同义句) It’s time ________ _________ dinner. 1.The woman ________ herself Mrs. Sun is my neighbour who always helps me. ( ) A.is called B.is calling C.calling D.called 【答案】C 【详解】考查非谓语动词作定语。 C。 2.We always have _________ during the Spring Festival. ( ) A.delicious something to eat B.something to eat delicious C.something delicious to eat D.some delicious thing to eat 【答案】C 【详解】考查形容词位置及不定式结构作后置定语。 C。 3.—How about your trip to Xi’an this summer, Jack? ( ) —________. I strongly recommend you go there for your holiday. A.Well done B.I really got a kick C.It’s none of your business D.I’m all thumbs 【答案】B 【详解】考查情景交际。 A. Well done做得好;B. I really got a kick我玩得非常开心;C. It’s none of your business这不关你的事;D. I’m all thumbs我手笨。根据下文“I strongly recommend you go there for your holiday.” B。 4.—David didn’t invite us to his wedding party. ( ) —________? I don’t care. After all, we don’t get along quite well with him. A.How come B.So what C.What for D.What if 【答案】B 【详解】考查情景交际。 A. How come怎么会;B. So what那又怎样;C. What for为何目的;D. What if要是…… 根据“I don’t care.” One day last month, Antony Aumann, a college professor in the United States, was grading papers for his course. ( ) A.waste my time or effort B.waste my talent or youth C.waste my power or space D.waste my money or energy 【答案】5.C 6.D 7.C 8.B 9.A 【详解】本文是一篇说明文。 根据第一段“While he was reading the “best paper in the class”, a red “warning” flag suddenly went up. Later, Aumann asked the student whether he had written the essay himself. The student shook his head. He admitted (承认) using ChatGPT, a chatbot that is able to answer questions as well as write emails, poems and articles. 根据第二段“All over the world, professors like Aumann are redesigning their courses in response to this. Some have decided to include more oral exams and handwritten papers ... Instead, Professors are designing questions that they hope will be too clever for chatbots. 根据第一段“He admitted (承认) using ChatGPT, a chatbot that is able to answer questions as well as write emails, poems and articles. 根据第三段“Rather than stay away from them, students and teacher alike should learn to make proper use of them. 和“The school is using it to help students to understand both the strengths and the weaknesses of chatbots. 根据最后一段“‘With AI tools, I won’t have to ...,’ she said. ‘But I am also not going to depend on them to do everything for me.’ 故选A。 (way to do ) _______________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】The best way to relax is through exercise. 【详解】根据句意可知,这句话使用句型the best way to do sth.“做某事的最好方式”;relax放松,是一个动词;through介词,意为“通过”;exercise名词,意为“锻炼”。 The best way to relax is through exercise. 11. To keep healthy, you should give up the habit of __________ _________ late. 故填staying;up。 12.It’s time for dinner.(改为同义句) It’s time ________ _________ dinner. It’s time to do sth.,需要用动词have,意为“吃”。故填to have。
