If your child shows similar behaviors, as a parent, you may wonder if you should be concerned. Characteristics of an Aggressive Child An aggressive child is generally not a happy child. An aggressive child may be fearful or falsely perceive threats in the environment. In these situations, the aggressive behavior may represent self-defense in anxiety-provoking situations, also known as the fight response to stress. In older children, physical aggression may be the result of poorly controlled impulses or inability to control emotions. Causes of Aggressive Behavior Underlying reasons for aggression in children may include neurodevelopmental disorders (神经发育障碍) like autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit, anxiety disorder, depressive disorder. Family factors that may contribute to aggression in children may include harsh parenting, abuse, neglect, parental substance use or untreated mental health conditions, and family conflict. External environmental factors that may cause aggressive behaviors in children range from being bullied at school, the influence of aggressive peers, or exposure to violence in the community or on TV, in video games or other media. Strategies to Address Aggression Research shows that children learn best through praise and rewarding good behavior, while punishment can be harmful and less effective or even ineffective in some children. Parents and teachers may benefit from “catching them being good” and using reward charts to encourage positive behaviors. It’s important for parents to work with their child’s school so that all adults involved with the child are on the same page and are able to support the child consistently. 1. What may cause a child to be aggressive? A. Feeling physically weak. B. Lacking self-protection. C. Rejecting parental support. D. Suffering peer bullying. 2. How can parents handle aggression in children? A. Encourage good actions with rewards. B. Use effective punishment approaches. C. Ask schools to separate their children. D. Ban students from using social media. 3. Where is the text probably taken from? A A medical journal. B. A parenting guide. C. A psychology blog. D. A children’s storybook. B After graduating from high school, the three of us girls kept in touch. But as we got older, years passed without seeing each other. We changed careers, circumstances and addresses. In the spring of 2014, after Rich and Chris spent a weekend biking trails together in Virginia, Chris suggested the three of us plan a tour. I had worried some before that first tour. How well did we know each other after all these years? Did we have as much in common as we used to? Would we have enough to talk about? We would be on trails for hours at a time for days. Some days we’d be riding in bad weather. We might get tired and cranky. What if none of these were fun? I needn’t have worried. We have plenty to talk about. We know each other better, now, than ever. We get tired and cranky. Yes, it’s fun. On the trail we talk about friends we have in common and friends we don’t, books, movies, and music. We talk about places we’ve lived or traveled, and other places we might tour. We talk about the things we can’t let go of — things we did, or failed to do; opportunities we missed, or took; choices, good and bad. We circle back to certain conversations and revisit what we heard or said. Moving through a changing landscape, following the rivers or the coast, seems to open us to wider, if not deeper, thinking. Having no goal other than to reach our lodging (借宿) before dark presents an unanticipated opportunity to stretch our understanding of each other and ourselves. Unhurried days in nature in the company of friends turn out to be conducive to reflection. The pleasures that we don’t anticipate stay with us longest and get richer over time. Among these are friendships that persist despite life’s weather, or because of it. As I write, Chris and Rich are preparing to fly to California, where we’ll ride the Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur, near my home. Already, Tour 3 is under way. In our messages we joke with one another, testing out our lines. We plan, we disagree and complain, we express enthusiasm, and we start conversations, knowing they’ll continue on the trails. 4. Why did the author ask lots of questions before the tour? A. She worried whether the biking trip was worthwhile. B. She wondered if they still shared the same interests. C. She doubted whether they prepared everything ahead. D. She wasn’t sure if they were physically strong enough. 5 What did the author and her friends do when they toured together? A. They had deep conversations about life experiences. B. They recalled childhood friends vividly and repeatedly. C. They enjoyed unhurried reflection with new friends. D. They raced competitively along coastal landscapes. 6. How does the author feel about the upcoming Tour 3? A. Anxious about potential disagreements. B. Indifferent due to the familiarity of the route. C. Excited for another opportunity to bond. D. Hopeful because of the physical demands. 7. What does the text mainly talk about? A. Road trips help to fix broken relationships. B. Traveling together creates new friendships easily. C. A cycling journey deepens long-term friendships. D. Biking adventures reconnect childhood companions. C Some foods are highly processed or ultra-processed. Ultra-processed foods (UPF) have become increasingly popular and range from chips to microwave meals and even bread. Even just a casual glance at supermarket shelves reveals a collection of UPF offerings in delicate and attractive packaging. Besides their affordability, UPF not only offer time-saving convenience, but also momentary satisfaction filled with fat, sugar, salt and additives. After all, who can resist enjoying a tasty snack when lost in a football game or an exciting new TV series? Although much is discussed about the direct negative impact of these products on our health, including obesity, heart diseases and diabetes, little has been said about the impacts of UPF on the environment. The most serious environmental impacts of UPF-rich diets mainly come from the post-farm stages, especially from the final product creation and packaging processes. One specific additive that has the most environmental impact is palm oil. Palm oil is responsible for deforestation of some of the world’s big forests, which have diverse animals and plants. It is one of the world’s most consumed vegetable oils that can be found in half of our food. The massive waste generated by over-packaged UPF is another factor to consider. Their plastic packaging doesn't degrade in landfills or in nature and has a dramatic impact on soil health and life in the sea. One recent study published in Nature Sustainability demonstrates that UPF processing and packaging stages have the greatest environmental impacts of the whole system and are a major source of environmental waste worldwide. The environmental impact of ultra-processed foods cannot be ignored any longer. While producers must take action, it is our growing awareness of what we buy and how it is produced that drives real change. By choosing wisely — whether by rejecting heavily processed options or supporting sustainable brands — we exercise the power to shape a better food system, a responsibility we must embrace. 8. What can be learned about UPF from the first paragraph? A. They are primarily consumed during casual leisure activities. B. They are carefully produced to be environmentally friendly. C. They are filled with various kinds of healthy added nutrients. D. They are favored by many for their fancy packages and flavors. 9. Why palm oil was introduced in the text? A. To compare it with some other vegetable oils. B. To explain UPF's harmful environmental effects. C. To show its relationship with animals and plants. D. To discuss factors of UPF's packaging-related pollution. 10 What does the author think of the role we play in fighting UPF? A. Tiny. B. Essential. C. Replaceable. D. Limited. 11. Which of the following can be a suitable title for the text? A. From Shelf to Soil: the Hidden Journey of UPF B. Fast and Cheap: UPF Take Over Our Daily Diets C. Beyond the Shelf: UPF Are Harming the Planet D. Convenience at a Cost: the Health Damage of UPF D It’s 2025, and you just ride in a robotaxi for the first time. Getting a ride is as easy as hailing a taxi, and the ride itself is better: you control the music and don’t need to make small talk. Above all, the trip is safe. If you decide to buy a new car today, chances are the vehicle you’d drive off the lot would have some autonomous capabilities — it might be able to parallel park itself, for example, or hit the brakes if the car in front of you suddenly slows. For the foreseeable future, though, if you want to check your emails on your way to work, your only option might be to hail a robotaxi owned and operated by someone else. Instead of trying to sell autonomous cars directly to consumers, autonomous vehicle developers plan to use their vehicles like self-driving taxis, providing rides to customers on demand once hailed via apps. This gives developers control over where and how their autonomous vehicles are used, helping avoid some potential liability (责任) issues. Because the autonomous vehicles themselves are on the road a lot more than private cars tend to be, the robotaxi model also gives developers the opportunity to collect more data — the kind needed to improve the systems — more quickly. It also allows them to generate income continuously from the expensive vehicles, rather than having them mostly sit parked in driveways and lots. It may not be enough to offset research and development or hardware costs right now, but if the robotaxi industry grows the way many experts predict, the market could end up being huge. It’s not just the US where robotaxis are being researched, tested, and even deployed. China is the other leader right now, and it is proceeding on roughly the same timeline as the US. In 2023, a few cities in China, including Beijing and Shanghai, received government permission to run robotaxis on the road. Robotaxis are being popularized at cut-throat prices in Wuhan. It has ambitions to become the world’s first driverless city. 12. How does the author introduce the topic of the robotaxi? A. By comparing it with regular taxis. B. By quoting traffic safety reports. C. By analyzing its smart functions. D. By describing a riding experience. 13. Why do developers avoid selling autonomous cars directly to consumers? A. To maintain control over vehicle usage and avoid legal risks. B. To make autonomous cars affordable for average consumers. C. To speed up data transmission for systematic improvements. D. To help most autonomous car companies make steady profits. 14. What does the underlined word “offset” in the third paragraph mean? A. Put up with. B. Make up for. C. Cut down on. D. Take advantage of. 15. What does the author imply in the last paragraph? A. Different nations are working together to develop robotaxi technology. B. Robotaxi markets are expanding aggressively across China’s major cities. C. Chinese governments are actively investing in the rising robotaxi industry. D. Several Chinese cities are making rapid progress in robotaxi development. Caregiving for Someone After a Stroke When a loved one suffers a stroke, it can be a relief that they survived and are getting good care. ____16____. Matt, with his mother and father following, walked outside and looked at the Spring Festival decorations adorning the front of their house. “It's gone,” his father sighed, noticing the missing lantern. “I bet it was stolen by a neighbor.” “That lantern was my favorite decoration,” Matt sadly noted. “Do you think we can get it back?” “I don't know, son,” his father replied in a frustrated tone. All three retreated (离开) back into the house. The atmosphere had changed from happy and cheery to somber and reflective. An uncharacteristic silence had smothered the holiday spirit. Darkness fell with Matt and his father standing on the sidewalk gazing at the lighted decorations. Their eyes kept returning to the empty place where the lantern had been hung. Both Matt and his father remained void of any holiday cheer. Matt’s mother came outside to join them. “Come on guys,” she pleaded, “cheer up... it’s Spring Festival.” “I miss my lantern, Mommy. We made it with our own hands. Not worth a lot of money but it does have a lot of memories,” Matt replied with a sad tone. “I just can't understand why someone would steal it,” Matt's father added. “Look,” Matt’s mother interrupted, “you two are letting this ruin your festival. We have each other, a beautiful home, and look at all those wonderful decorations on our house and the other houses on our street.” “I keep hoping my lantern will come home,” Matt sighed. “Well, I will go inside and turn on some good music and try to enjoy the evening,” Matt’s mother proclaimed (明确表示) as she walked away. A distant crisp jangling of the bicycle interrupted the discussion. They looked at that direction as two figures approached. “It looks like a man and a boy,” Matt’s father observed. “and that’s our lantern behind their bicycle seat!” The man came over and asked politely, “Is this your house?” ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The boy proudly handed back the beautifully restored lantern. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 浙江强基联盟2025年5月高二联考 英语试题 考生注意: 1. 根据Causes of Aggressive Behavior中“External environmental factors that may cause aggressive behaviors in children range from being bullied at school, the influence of aggressive peers, or exposure to violence in the community or on TV, in video games or other media. (可能导致儿童攻击性行为的外部环境因素包括在学校受到欺负、受攻击性同伴的影响,或在社区、电视、电子游戏或其他媒体中接触到暴力)”可知,遭受同龄人的欺负可能会导致孩子变得有攻击性。故选D项。 【2题详解】 推理判断题。根据Strategies to Address Aggression中“Research shows that children learn best through praise and rewarding good behavior, while punishment can be harmful and less effective or even ineffective in some children. Parents and teachers may benefit from “catching them being good” and using reward charts to encourage positive behaviors. (研究表明,孩子通过表扬和奖励好的行为来学习效果最好,而惩罚可能有害,对一些孩子来说效果较差,甚至无效。家长和老师可能会从“抓住他们的好行为”和使用奖励图表来鼓励积极行为中受益)”可推知,父母可以通过奖励鼓励孩子的好行为来处理孩子的攻击性行为。故选A项。 通读全文,尤其是第一段“Children may act out in verbally and physically aggressive ways as a result of feeling threatened or when they have difficulty in managing emotions, controlling actions, or understanding social situations. If your child shows similar behaviors, as a parent, you may wonder if you should be concerned. (孩子可能会因为感到受到威胁,或者在管理情绪、控制行为或理解社交情境方面有困难,而以言语和身体上的攻击性方式表现出来。如果你的孩子表现出类似的行为,作为父母,你可能会想知道你是否应该担心)”可知,文章主要介绍了孩子攻击性行为的特点、原因以及应对策略,旨在为家长提供关于如何处理孩子攻击性行为的建议,所以文章可能来自一本育儿指南。故选B项。 B After graduating from high school, the three of us girls kept in touch. 5. What did the author and her friends do when they toured together? A. They had deep conversations about life experiences. B. They recalled childhood friends vividly and repeatedly. C They enjoyed unhurried reflection with new friends. B 5. A 6. C 7. 根据第二段中“I had worried some before that first tour. How well did we know each other after all these years? Did we have as much in common as we used to? Would we have enough to talk about? (在第一次旅行之前,我有些担心。过了这么多年,我们对彼此有多了解?我们还有以前那么多共同点吗?我们有足够的话题可聊吗?)”可知,作者在旅行前问了很多问题是因为她想知道她们是否还有相同的兴趣。故选B项。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中“On the trail we talk about friends we have in common and friends we don’t, books, movies, and music. We talk about places we’ve lived or traveled, and other places we might tour. We talk about the things we can’t let go of — things we did, or failed to do; opportunities we missed, or took; choices, good and bad. We circle back to certain conversations and revisit what we heard or said. (在路上,我们谈论共同的朋友和不共同的朋友,书籍、电影和音乐。我们谈论我们生活过或旅行过的地方,以及其他我们可能去旅行的地方。我们谈论那些我们无法释怀的事情 —— 我们做过或未能做到的事情;我们错过或抓住的机会;好的和坏的选择。我们会回到某些对话中,重新审视我们听到或说过的话。)”可知,作者和她的朋友们在旅行时会对生活经历进行深入的交谈。故选A项。 根据最后一段中“Already, Tour 3 is under way. In our messages we joke with one another, testing out our lines. We plan, we disagree and complain, we express enthusiasm, and we start conversations, knowing they’ll continue on the trails. (第三次旅行已经在进行了。在我们的信息中,我们互相开玩笑,测试我们的台词。我们计划、争论、抱怨,我们表达热情,我们开始对话,因为我们知道它们会在旅途中继续下去。)”可知,作者对即将到来的第三次旅行感到兴奋,因为这是又一个增进友谊的机会。故选C项。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第一段中“After graduating from high school, the three of us girls kept in touch. But as we got older, years passed without seeing each other. We changed careers, circumstances and addresses. (高中毕业后,我们三个女孩一直保持联系。但随着年龄的增长,多年没有见面。我们换了工作、环境和地址。)”和最后一段中“As I write, Chris and Rich are preparing to fly to California, where we’ll ride the Monterey Peninsula and Big Sur, near my home. Already, Tour 3 is under way. (当我写这篇文章的时候,Chris和Rich正准备飞往加利福尼亚,在那里我们将在我家附近的蒙特雷半岛和大苏尔骑行。第三次旅行已经在进行了。)”可知,文章主要讲述了三个高中毕业后多年未见的女孩通过一起骑行旅行来增进友谊的故事,所以C项“A cycling journey deepens long-term friendships. (一次骑行之旅加深了长久的友谊。)”准确概括了文章的中心主旨。故选C项。 C Some foods are highly processed or ultra-processed. 10. What does the author think of the role we play in fighting UPF? A. Tiny. B. Essential. Convenience at a Cost: the Health Damage of UPF 【答案】8. D 9. B 10. B 11. 根据第一段中“Ultra-processed foods (UPF) have become increasingly popular and range from chips to microwave meals and even bread. 根据第三段中“One specific additive that has the most environmental impact is palm oil. Palm oil is responsible for deforestation of some of the world’s big forests, which have diverse animals and plants. It is one of the world’s most consumed vegetable oils that can be found in half of our food. (对环境影响最大的一种特定添加剂是棕榈油。棕榈油是导致世界上一些大森林被砍伐的原因,这些森林里有各种各样的动植物。它是世界上消费量最大的植物油之一,在我们一半的食物中都能找到。)”可知,文中提到棕榈油是为了解释UPF对环境的有害影响。故选B项。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“While producers must take action, it is our growing awareness of what we buy and how it is produced that drives real change. By choosing wisely — whether by rejecting heavily processed options or supporting sustainable brands — we exercise the power to shape a better food system, a responsibility we must embrace. (虽然生产商必须采取行动,但我们对购买什么以及如何生产的日益增长的意识才是推动真正变革的动力。通过明智的选择——无论是拒绝过度加工的产品还是支持可持续的品牌——我们行使了塑造更好食品体系的权力,这是我们必须承担的责任。)”可知,作者认为我们在对抗UPF中起着至关重要的作用。故选B项。 【11题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第二段中“Although much is discussed about the direct negative impact of these products on our health, including obesity, heart diseases and diabetes, little has been said about the impacts of UPF on the environment. (虽然关于这些产品对我们健康的直接负面影响,包括肥胖、心脏病和糖尿病,已经讨论了很多,但关于UPF对环境的影响却很少被提及。)”和第三段中“One recent study published in Nature Sustainability demonstrates that UPF processing and packaging stages have the greatest environmental impacts of the whole system and are a major source of environmental waste worldwide. (最近发表在《自然可持续性》杂志上的一项研究表明,UPF的加工和包装阶段对整个系统的环境影响最大,是全球环境废物的主要来源。)”可知,文章主要讲述了超加工食品(UPF)对环境的有害影响,所以C项“Beyond the Shelf: UPF Are Harming the Planet (货架之外:超加工食品正在危害地球)”适合作为文章标题。故选C项。 D It’s 2025, and you just ride in a robotaxi for the first time. D 13. A 14. B 15. 根据第一段“It’s 2025, and you just ride in a robotaxi for the first time. Getting a ride is as easy as hailing a taxi, and the ride itself is better: you control the music and don’t need to make small talk. Above all, the trip is safe.(2025年,你第一次乘坐机器人出租车。搭车就像叫出租车一样简单,而且搭车本身更好:你可以控制音乐,不需要闲聊。最重要的是,这次旅行很安全。)”可知,文章开头通过描述一次乘坐机器人出租车的体验引入话题。故选D。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“This gives developers control over where and how their autonomous vehicles are used, helping avoid some potential liability (责任) issues.(这使得开发人员可以控制自动驾驶汽车的使用地点和方式,从而帮助避免一些潜在的责任问题。)” 故选A。 根据划线词上文“It also allows them to generate income continuously from the expensive vehicles, rather than having them mostly sit parked in driveways and lots.(它还允许他们从昂贵的车辆中持续产生收入,而不是让它们大部分停在车道和停车场上。)”和划线词所在句“It may not be enough to offset research and development or hardware costs right now, but if the robotaxi industry grows the way many experts predict, the market could end up being huge.(这可能不足以offset目前的研发或硬件成本,但如果自动驾驶出租车行业像许多专家预测的那样发展,市场最终可能会变得巨大。)” 根据最后一段“China is the other leader right now, and it is proceeding on roughly the same timeline as the US. In 2023, a few cities in China, including Beijing and Shanghai, received government permission to run robotaxis on the road. Robotaxis are being popularized at cut-throat prices in Wuhan. “and that’s our lantern behind their bicycle seat!” 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡相应位置作答。 The man came over and asked politely, “Is this your house?” ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The boy proudly handed back the beautifully restored lantern. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: The man came over and asked politely, “Is this your house?” Matt’s father nodded cautiously, noticing their lantern. “We found it damaged on the sidewalk,” the boy explained shyly. “The frame was bent and the candleholder loose — we just wanted to fix it.” Matt’s eyes widened. “So you didn’t steal it?” Relief washed over the family as the boy shook his head. “Thank you,” Matt’s father said sincerely. “This means so much to us.” The man smiled warmly, “Spring Festival should be about kindness.” The boy proudly handed back the beautifully restored lantern. Its frame straightened, silk polished, with a new tassel gleaming. “It’s better than before!” Matt gasped. His mother clasped her hands, “You've given us more than a decoration.” Touched, Matt’s father invited them in for snacks. As laughter filled the house, Matt realized the true festival magic wasn’t in decorations, but in the kindness that made them special. Outside, neighborhood lights twinkled like stars, mirroring their joy. 词汇激活 行为类: ①点头:nod/bob one’s head ②喘息:gasp/heave ③意识到:realize/be aware of ④闪耀:twinkle/sparkle 情感类: ①谨慎地:cautiously/with caution ②如释重负:relief washed over sb./feel a sense of relief ③感动:touched/moved 【点睛】[高分句型 1].
