M: Do you remember a time when people were a little nicer and gentler with each other? I certainly do. And I feel that much of the world has somehow gotten away from that. We get lazy and in our laziness, we think that something like a simple “thank you” doesn’t really matter. But it can matter very much. The fact is that no matter how nicely we dress or how beautifully we decorate our homes, we can’t be truly elegant without good manners because elegance and good manners always go hand in hand. In fact, I think of good manners as a sort of hidden beauty secret. Haven’t you noticed that the kindest and most generous people seem to be getting prettier? It’s funny how that happens. But it does. Take the long-lost art to say “thank you”. Like wearing a little makeup or making sure your hair is neat, getting into the habit of saying “thank you” can make you feel better about yourselves. Good manners add to your image! A Pali Overnight Adventures offers your children and teens exciting experiences this summer. Not only does she devote her time to law classes, she also competes in weightlifting competitions. Beyond these academical and physical pursuits, Nicole is also in and out of the doctor’s office. She was diagnosed (诊断) with multiple sclerosis (MS), a rare disease, a year ago. The first attack happened while she was preparing for her A-Levels, a hugely stressful time for many students. Initially, she blamed her symptoms (症状) on stress. Nicole carried on preparing for her exams. She sat with one eye closed to improve her vision which was damaged by her vertigo (眩晕) experience. That was when she decided to act and head back to the doctor’s office. She took loads of medicines, but no progress was made. Feeling something might be going wrong, she immediately went to the hospital for further examinations. Following an MRI scan, she was diagnosed with MS. After this first attack and her MS diagnosis, Nicole didn’t experience another for a few years. But in August 2021, she had another. This attack made her left hand shake for two months. Despite the obvious challenge caused by the disease in daily life, she didn’t let it hinder her ambitions. And her goal was to show other young people with disabilities that they could live their lives and still enjoy an active lifestyle. Today, Nicole uses her page not only to spread awareness of MS, encouraging people not to miss symptoms, as she did at first, but also to show people they can live a full and satisfying life with MS. She wants to show the highs as much as the lows. 24. Why does Nicole often go to the doctor? A. She seeks more exercise. B. She wants to be a doctor. C. She loses her ability to walk. D. She goes for medical treatment. 25. What was Nicole’s symptom during her first MS attack? A. Her eyes were blind. B. She felt stressful. C. Her left hand shook. D. She had a sense of vertigo. 26. What does the underlined word “hinder” in paragraph 4 mean? A. Prevent. B. Share. C. Improve. D. Join. 27. Which word can best describe Nicole? A. Creative. B. Inspiring. C. Humorous. D. Professional. D 25. D 26. A 27. 根据文章第二段“Beyond these academical and physical pursuits, Nicole is also in and out of the doctor’s office. She was diagnosed (诊断) with multiple sclerosis(MS), a rare disease, a year ago.(除了这些学术和身体上的追求,妮可还在医生的办公室里进进出出。一年前,她被诊断出患有一种罕见疾病——多发性硬化症(MS)。)”以及第三段“She took loads of medicines, but no progress was made. Feeling something might be going wrong, she immediately went to the hospital for further examinations.(她服用了大量药物,但病情没有任何好转。感觉到可能出了问题,她立即前往医院做进一步检查。)”可知,Nicole频繁就医是因为患有多发性硬化症,需要接受诊断和治疗。故选D。 25题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第二段“The first attack happened while she was preparing for her A-Levels, a hugely stressful time for many students. Initially, she blamed her symptoms(症状)on stress.(第一次发病是在她准备A-Level考试期间,这对许多学生来说都是压力巨大的时期。最初,她将自己的症状归咎于压力。)”以及第三段“Nicole carried on preparing for her exams. She sat with one eye closed to improve her vision which was damaged by her vertigo (眩晕) experience.(Nicole继续备考。由于眩晕导致视力受损,她考试时不得不闭着一只眼睛。)”可知,Nicole首次发病时的症状是眩晕。故选D。 【26题详解】 词句猜测题。根据划线单词所在句“Despite the obvious challenge caused by the disease in daily life, she didn’t let it hinder her ambitions. And her goal was to show other young people with disabilities that they could live their lives and still enjoy an active lifestyle.(尽管这种疾病给日常生活带来了明显的挑战,但她并未让疾病……自己的抱负。她的目标是向其他残疾年轻人证明,他们依然可以热爱生活,享受积极的生活方式。)”以及最后一段“Today, Nicole uses her page not only to spread awareness of MS, encouraging people not to miss symptoms, as she did at first, but also to show people they can live a full and satisfying life with MS.(如今,Nicole利用自己的社交平台页面不仅传播关于多发性硬化症的知识,鼓励人们不要像她最初那样忽视症状,还向人们展示,即使患有多发性硬化症,也能过上充实而令人满意的生活。)” 故选A。 根据文章最后一段“Today, Nicole uses her page not only to spread awareness of MS, encouraging people not to miss symptoms, as she did at first, but also to show people they can live a full and satisfying life with MS.(如今,Nicole利用自己的社交平台页面不仅传播关于多发性硬化症的知识,鼓励人们不要像她最初那样忽视症状,还向人们展示,即使患有多发性硬化症,也能过上充实而令人满意的生活。)” B。 C Anyone with even a passing interest in the natural world will have noticed a dramatic phenomenon this year: a lack of insects. Species that are usually common are in many places down to the point of having almost disappeared. There are several probable reasons for this sudden reduction compared with typical summers. The weather has not helped, with a cool and wet spring across much of the country suppressing (抑制) insect numbers. But even with that factored in, this year’s sudden drop comes after many years of much longer-term decline. Dave Goulson, one of the UK’s leading entomologists, estimates that insect populations compared with a century ago are 90% to 95% down. “This was not caused by one wet spring: it is the result of a combination of factors that include the rise of ever more intensive farming, habitat loss, pollution and the impacts of climate breakdown,” he says. Aside from the depressing silence of gardens, woods and grasslands, there are more practical consequences. For example, many of our crop plants depend on wild insects to pollinate (对……授粉) them. Insects are also the food source of many mammals and birds that are also in decline. The present position is nonetheless a wake-up call about the scale of losses that have taken place in recent decades. It is very clear that a major change is needed now. It is pleasing to see that the government has a sense of the challenge in front of us and has committed to positive measures. We will need to go further, though, including shifting the culture that favors neat and tidy verges (绿地) to create wilder gardens and bigger, better and more connected natural habitats. All that will be needed is not only to stop long-term decline but also to create the toughness that our wildlife at present lacks, which will be needed more and more as climate breakdown leads to more extreme weather. 28. What can be inferred about the insect decline? A. It’s not easy to spot. B. It’s a recent phenomenon. C. It’s due to the hot summer. D. It’s part of a long-term trend. 29. What is a direct impact of insect decline on ecosystems? A. Increased crop yields. B. Shifts in weather patterns. C. Reduced plant reproduction. D. Enhanced wildlife adaptability. 30. What specific measures are needed to support wildlife? A. Planting more neat and tidy verges. B. Establishing nature reserves and reducing habitat destruction. C. Increasing research investment in wildlife population monitoring. D. Introducing advanced technologies to control other threats to wildlife. 31. What is the text mainly about? A. Climate change effects. B. The role of insects in nature. C. A sharp drop in insect numbers. D. Government measures on insects. D 29. C 30. B 31. 根据第二段最后一句“But even with that factored in, this year's sudden drop comes after many years of much longer-term decline. (但即使考虑到这一因素,今年的突然下降是在经历了多年的长期下降之后出现的。)”可知,这次昆虫数量的减少是一个长期趋势的一部分。故选D项。 【29题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段第二句“For example, many of our crop plants depend on wild insects to pollinate (对……授粉) them. (例如,我们的许多农作物依赖野生昆虫授粉。)”可知,可推知昆虫减少会直接导致植物繁殖减少。故选C项。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段第一句“We will need to go further, though, including shifting the culture that favors neat and tidy verges (绿地) to create wilder gardens and bigger, better and more connected natural habitats. (然而,我们需要更进一步,包括转变喜欢整洁边缘的文化,创造更野性的花园和更大、更好、更连通的自然栖息地。)”可知,保护野生动物需要建立自然保护区,减少栖息地破坏。故选B项。 【31题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,并结合第一段第一句“Anyone with even a passing interest in the natural world will have noticed a dramatic phenomenon this year: a lack of insects. (任何对自然界稍有兴趣的人都会注意到今年一个引人注目的现象:昆虫的缺乏。)”可知,文章主要围绕昆虫数量急剧下降展开,分析原因、影响及解决措施,C项“A sharp drop in insect numbers (昆虫数量急剧下降)”符合文章主旨。故选C项。 D What Could the School of 2050 Look Like? Thanks to technology-driven advances in education, the school of 2050 may look different in many ways. For example, on entering the classroom, biometric scanning (生物识别扫描) will allow students to check in. Teachers will be able to gather attendance data automatically. For the school of the future, there will be no need to deal with heavy curtains or dust-covered blinds; we’ll have smart glass. Windows can automatically adjust their colors, protecting both our eyes and screens. By 2050, 3D printers will have become a standard appliance, both in the home and at school. As a learning aid, they’ll have become crucial, allowing teachers more flexibility to explain difficult concepts. Adaptive learning systems driven by artificial intelligence (AI) will have become integrated into the school environment by 2050. Personalized learning experiences will take into account learning styles and create adaptive assessments that adjust in real time based on performance. AI may also be used to analyze pupils’ work, even so far as predicting future performance, helping teachers understand which students need more guidance on a particular concept before they fall behind. Students will be able to get immediate feedback (反馈), with suggested areas for improvement and more personalized tutoring (辅导) based on their strengths and weaknesses. And homework assignments will mostly be online. From downloading the assignment at the end of the lesson to submitting it remotely, students will be able to view their coursework, see the percentage completed, and track general assessments. Gone will be the days of carrying heavy textbooks, and hurriedly putting them into lockers after lessons. Students of the future can look forward to having recommended reading materials right at their fingertips via e-readers and tablet devices which can be operated through virtual reality. As a result, dependence on paper products will be reduced. Though paper won’t disappear completely, it’ll be eco-friendly, either recycled or made from fast-growing plants like bamboo. 32. How will students in 2050 sign in? A. With check-in sheets. B. By biometric scanning. C. With a teacher’s headcount. D. By messaging the teacher. 33. What is the main focus of paragraphs 3 and 4? A. AI’s impact on reducing school operational costs. B. The role of AI in personalizing student learning paths. C. The use of virtual reality in enhancing physical education. D. The benefits of adaptive learning systems for student safety. 34. What can we learn about the future textbooks? A. They only use bamboo paper. B. They will remain paper-based. C. Digital ones may replace them. D. All the students in the class only need one. 35. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text? A. To criticize traditional teaching methods. B. To highlight the challenges faced by students. C. To inform readers about the future of schools. D. To promote the use of technology in education. B 33. B 34. C 35. 根据第一段“For example, on entering the classroom, biometric scanning (生物识别扫描) will allow students to check in. (例如,进入教室时,生物识别扫描将允许学生签到。)”可知,学生将通过生物识别扫描签到。故选B项。 【33题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第三段“Adaptive learning systems driven by artificial intelligence (AI) will have become integrated into the school environment by 2050. Personalized learning experiences will take into account learning styles and create adaptive assessments that adjust in real time based on performance. (到2050年,由人工智能(AI)驱动的适应性学习系统将融入学校环境。个性化的学习体验将考虑学习风格,并创建基于表现实时调整的适应性评估。)”以及第四段“Students will be able to get immediate feedback (反馈) , with suggested areas for improvement and more personalized tutoring (辅导) based on their strengths and weaknesses. (学生将能够获得即时反馈,包括建议的改进领域以及根据他们的优势和劣势提供的更个性化的辅导。)”可知,两段均围绕 AI在个性化学习路径中的作用展开。故选B项。 【34题详解】 推理判断题。根据第五段“Gone will be the days of carrying heavy textbooks, and hurriedly putting them into lockers after lessons. Students of the future can look forward to having recommended reading materials right at their fingertips via e-readers and tablet devices which can be operated through virtual reality. (携带沉重课本以及课后匆匆将书本塞进储物柜的日子将一去不复返。未来的学生可以期待通过虚拟现实操作的电子阅读器和平板设备,随时触手可及地获取推荐阅读材料。)”可知,数字设备可能取代纸质教科书。故选C项。 【35题详解】 推理判断题。通读全文可知,全文以“What Could the School of 2050 Look Like?(2050年的学校会是什么样子?)” Research shows that positively anticipating the future is a highly effective way to create positive emotions. New Year’s never really interested me because it always felt a bit of a letdown. But all that changed when I was fourteen. That year, my dad had an idea. He suggested our family pack up and drive 50 miles north to our small lake cabin (小屋) in northern Michigan to welcome the New Year. At first, I was hesitant. The cabin was amazing in summer. We would boat, fish, swim, water ski, and float on tubes there. But spending time there in the cold winter sounded boring. I made a face and asked, “What will we do?” Dad said, “There are lots of things! We can ski, walk on snow with special shoes, ice-skate and sled (乘雪橇)! We can play games, sleep late, and see what northern Michigan is like in winter. We can also build a big bonfire (篝火) by the lake, make sweet treats, and then go inside and drink hot chocolate.” That sounded fun, so I agreed. My brother, Dan, was also interested. A few days after Christmas, Mom, Dad, Dan and I got in our red car and started driving. After five hours, I fell asleep. In my mind, I pictured what the cabin would look like. The tree branches would be covered in snow and ice. The lake might seem bigger without boats. I hoped the sky would be as bright blue as in summer. Hours later, as the sun was going down, we finally reached the cabin. We ran to the door, but Dad couldn’t open the lock. It was frozen. Mom and I drove to the local stores to ask for help while Dad and Dan continued to fight the lock. Unluckily, this was Sunday and the stores were closed, so no locksmith (锁匠) would help us until the next morning. It was after 7:00 pm and the temperature was dropping fast. We needed a Plan B. 注意:1. Dad grabbed a big rock and broke through the kitchen window ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Over the next few days, we did all the things Dad had planned. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Dad grabbed a big rock and broke through the kitchen window. We quickly climbed inside, shivering from the cold. Mom lit the fireplace, and soon the cabin was warm and cozy. We made hot chocolate and shared stories, laughing at our unexpected adventure. The next morning, a locksmith arrived and fixed the lock, and our New Year’s celebration officially began. Over the next few days, we did all the things Dad had planned. We skied on the snowy hills, ice-skated on the frozen lake, and built a massive snowman. In the evenings, we gathered around the bonfire, roasting marshmallows and enjoying the winter sky. C Anyone with even a passing interest in the natural world will have noticed a dramatic phenomenon this year: a lack of insects. Aside from the depressing silence of gardens woods and grasslands, there are more practical consequences. A It’s not easy to spot. D What Could the School of 2050 Look Like? A With check-in sheets. Research shows that positively anticipating the future is a highly effective way to create positive emotions. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$听力考试正式开始,请看听力部分第一节。 How do you like your new washing machine? I certainly do. And I feel that much of the world is somehow gotten away from that. We get lazy. And in our laziness, we think that something like a simple thank you doesn't really matter, but I can matter very much. The fact is that no matter how nicely we dress or how beautifully we decorate our homes, we can't be truly elegant without good manners, because elegance and good manners always go hand in hand. In fact, I think of good manners as a sort of hidden beauty secret. How did you notice that the kindest and most generous people seem to be getting pretty hits? Funny how that happens, but IT does take the long lost art to say thank you, like wearing a little makeup or making sure your hair was a need. Getting into the habit of saying thank you can make you feel Better about yourselves, good manners, add your image. Do you remember a time when people were a little nicer and gentler with each other?
