教学过程 Teaching Procedures
1. Lead-in (5 minutes):
Greet students. Show some pictures of different family relationships (happy families, families with conflicts) on PPT. Ask students to describe the relationships in the pictures and share their feelings.
2. Pre-Reading (10 minutes):
Present the statements in 2a on PPT. Let students read them quickly and predict whether they are true or false. Then ask some students to share their predictions.
3. While-Reading (15 minutes):
Skimming
Let students read the passage quickly. Ask them to find out the main idea of each paragraph and match the paragraphs with the headings in 2b. Check the answers together.
Scanning
Ask students to read the passage again carefully. They need to find the answers to the questions in 2c. After a few minutes, invite students to answer the questions.
Detailed Reading
Read the passage paragraph by paragraph. Explain new words, phrases and difficult sentences. For example, "argue with sb.", "communicate with sb." etc. Let students pay attention to the usage and examples.
Analyze the structure of the text, such as how the author presents problems and solutions.
4. Post-Reading (10 minutes):
Pair Work
Let students work in pairs. They should discuss the questions in 2d according to the text. Encourage them to express their own opinions. Then invite some pairs to share their ideas.
Group Discussion
Divide students into groups. Let them discuss family problems they have experienced and how they solved them. Each group chooses a representative to share with the class.
5. Summary (5 minutes):
(1) Summarize new words, phrases and key points of the text on the blackboard. For example, new words: relation, communication, argue; key points: common family problems and solutions.
(2) Emphasize the importance of maintaining good family relationships.
作业设计 Homework Design
Ask students to write a short passage about their family relationships, including problems they have and how they plan to solve them.
Let students recommend a good book about family to their classmates.
