教学过程 Teaching Procedures
1. Warm-up (5 minutes):
Greet students. Review the family problems and advice-giving in the previous lessons. Then show some new family-related problems on PPT, like “My parents don’t allow me to watch TV.”
2. Presentation (10 minutes):
Grammar Focus
Present the Grammar Focus part on PPT. Read the sentences aloud, for example, “Why don’t you talk to your parents? You should explain how you feel.” Explain the form and function of “Why don’t you...?” (used to make a suggestion in a friendly way) and “You should...” (used to give a more direct advice). Let students read after you several times.
3. Practice (15 minutes):
4a
Show the tasks in 4a on PPT. Let students complete the conversations with the correct forms of the words in brackets. Walk around to offer help. After they finish, check the answers together. Ask students to explain their choices.
Pair Work
Let students work in pairs. One student states a problem, and the other gives advice using “Why don’t you...?” or “You should...”. For example, A: I lost my wallet. B: Why don’t you ask the police for help? / You should tell your parents about it. Invite some pairs to show their conversations.
4. Production (10 minutes):
4c
Divide students into groups. Present some complex family situations in 4c on PPT. Each group needs to discuss and write down as much advice as possible using the learned grammar structures.
Each group shares their advice with the class. The class votes for the most practical advice.
5. Summary (5 minutes):
Summarize the key grammar points on the blackboard. Emphasize the correct usage of “Why don’t you...?” and “You should...”.
Remind students to pay attention to the context when giving advice.
作业设计 Homework Design
1. Ask students to write a short passage about a family problem they know and give at least three pieces of advice using the grammar structures.
2. Encourage students to use the learned advice-giving expressions when communicating with their friends or family.

教学反思
Teaching Reflection
The review at the beginning can help students connect new knowledge with old ones. But in pair work, some students may make mistakes in using the grammar structures. More individual guidance is needed.
The group activity in the production part can arouse students’ enthusiasm, yet time management should be improved.
教学评价
Teaching Evaluation
Evaluate students’ performance in class, including their accuracy in grammar usage, participation in pair work and group work.
Check students’ homework to assess their understanding and application of the grammar knowledge.
