Dogs named Hero and Tora saved their owner’s life in March. They remained by his side through two cold nights, fought coyotes (土狼), and waited for help. Their story has won the respect of the world. A charity donation campaign was launched by the victim and the local shelter Taber Lost Paws Society to help the injured dogs. The story began with an attack. When a passerby named Curtis Dahl was walking his dog in a field of muddy grass near the sugar factory in the town of Taber, an area that is quite remote, not well-traveled, and quite cold in March. Suddenly, Hero came running up and bit his dog around the neck. Dahl claimed he fought with Hero for ten minutes, trying to get him off his dog, and his finger was hurt by the end of it. Calling police and animal services with a complaint, he told them about Hero’s presence, but when the officers arrived and saw Hero lying down there, badly hurt and tired out, they suddenly heard a cry for help. Arriving, they found a man lying on his back in a ditch (沟渠), trembling and unable to move. He told police he is 61 and lives alone and that he was walking his two dogs Hero and Tora when he fell down. He’d been stuck there for two days and his dogs protected him. The man said that when he fell down, Tora and Hero stayed with him to keep him safe and warm for some time, and then Tora ran off. “I know she went home to find some help for me, but every time she came back, very sad,” said the man. Tora went back and forth from the site where her owner was and her home several times. By the time Dahl walked by and rescuers arrived, Tora had just gone back again. 1. The man recalled how Hero and Tora protected him from coyotes. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Knowing what happened, Dahl held no ill feelings toward Hero. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】参考范文 The man recalled how Hero and Tora protected him from coyotes. When they stayed by his side to keep him warm, two hungry coyotes emerged. The coyotes eyed them hungrily and slowly walked closer. The dogs sensed the danger immediately. Facing the frightening coyotes that bared their sharp teeth, Hero and Tora didn’t back down. They barked loudly and engaged in a fierce battle, never letting them get close to him. After a tense and intense struggle, the dogs, though badly injured, finally managed to drive the coyotes away, protecting him from being harmed. Meanwhile, what made him moved was what Dahl did. Knowing what happened, Dahl held no ill feelings toward Hero. Although Hero bit his dog’s neck and injured his finger, he now understood why Hero did so. Hero thought they would harm its owner. Therefore, Dahl chose to forgive Hero. Not only that, as the victim, he also launched a donation campaign with the local animal shelter to take good care of these three injured dogs. In less than 48 hours, they received a donation of $3,000. Dahl said that dogs are loyal friends of humans, and at all times, we humans should protect them and live in harmony with them. 3.词汇激活: 行为类: 出现:emerge/appear/show up/turn up 加入:engage in/be involved in/participate in 退缩:back down /flinch/cower 情绪类: 感动的:moved/touched 令人害怕的:frightening/scary/fearsome 【点睛】【高分句型1】 They barked loudly and engaged in a fierce battle, never letting them get close to him.(运用了现在分词作状语。) 2】 After a tense and intense struggle, the dogs, though badly injured, finally managed to drive the coyotes away, protecting him from being harmed.(运用了状语从句的省略和现在分词作状语。) A Writing Assignment Mrs. Peabody, the English teacher, gave the class a writing assignment. “Write something in some way related to summer vacation,” she said. “Be as creative as you can. But,” the teacher added, “make sure you use proper spelling and grammar.” That night Jim sat at his desk at home and stared at a blank sheet of paper. He didn’t want to write about his summer vacation as usual. What could he write about, except a dog, a water park and two weeks of camp? Boring... He’d actually been happy to get back to school. So he wrote what he wanted. Not an essay at all but a short story, science fiction. It was about a distant planet that didn’t have summer—it was spring all the time. And it didn’t have vacations either. The aliens on the planet worked 24 hours a day. They wished they had vacations. The next morning he handed in the story, but later that night he lay awake until 3 a. m., thinking, “Why did I do that? Will Mrs. Peabody think I ignored the assignment?” English was his favorite class. Maybe he would be g Mrs. Peabody for a chance to write another one, the sort she wanted. But when he got to class the following day, it turned out that Mrs. Peabody had already read and graded the essays. The teacher said, “I’m going to pass back your summer vacation writings in a minute. I’m afraid I’ve got some rather harsh words to say. Almost everyone in class simply wrote an essay about his or her summer vacation… Almost everyone.” “This is bad,” Jim thought, “I’m getting an F. I know it.” “But,” the teacher continued, “one of you had the courage to be as imaginative as I asked you to be. Jim Martin was the only one who got an A on the assignment.” Jim couldn’t believe his ears. Paragraph 1 When Mrs. Peabody invited Jim to share some thoughts on his writing, other students were all looking at him expectantly. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2 Mrs. Peabody thought it was time to explain Jim’s grade. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 When Mrs. Peabody invited Jim to share some thoughts on his writing, other students were all looking at him expectantly. Jim, feeling both surprised and nervous, slowly made his way to the front of the classroom. Clearing his throat, he began, "Well, I guess I just wanted to write something different. You know, everyone else would be writing about their beach trips or family vacations, and I thought, 'Why not create a whole new world?'" He paused and then continued, "On this planet, they don't have summer or vacations, and I kind of felt sorry for the aliens there. It made me appreciate our summers even more." Mrs. Peabody thought it was time to explain Jim’s grade. She stood up and addressed the class. "Class, Jim stretched his imagination and took a risk. That's precisely what I was hoping. Creativity and originality are qualities that are often overlooked in favor of conformity. His work reminded us all that writing is not just about meeting expectations—it's about exploring the boundaries of your imagination. That's why Jim earned an A." The class erupted into applause, and Jim, standing tall, felt a surge of pride and a newfound confidence in his own creativity. 续写线索:分享写作思路——解释成绩——同学们反应——吉姆感受 词汇激活 行为类 站出来:step forward/come forward 继续:continue/carry on 忽视:overlook/disregard 情绪类 紧张:nervous/tense 自豪:proud/take pride in 【点睛】[高分句型 1] Jim, feeling both surprised and nervous, slowly made his way to the front of the classroom.(使用了现在分词短语作状语) [高分句型 2] That's precisely what I was hoping.(使用了连接代词what连接的表语从句) Passage3人与人(互相帮助) (2023-2024绵阳南山高二下期末) A Cooperative Help It was a beautiful morning. I was in the middle of a busy day, with my mind on what I had to do next. As I drove along a busy street, I noticed a young boy walking out from the entrance to an apartment complex(公寓群)on the other side of the street. I couldn’t see beyond the entrance with trees and bushes shading it but I hoped that his family was there, about to appear behind him. The boy was young, maybe four years old, and it was a strange sight to see him alone near the busy street, even if just for a little while. I continued to look behind me but I didn’t see anyone else coming out to join him as cars ran swiftly past him. Then, I saw him turning around and running back toward the entrance. I smiled in relief, as I hoped that he was heading back towards his family. Still, I felt I should check to be sure he was safe and did a U-turn as soon as I was able. As I drove back to where I first saw him, I was expecting to see him was safe, with his family around him. Instead, as I got closer, I saw that he had changed directions again, crossed the median(隔离带)and was quickly running in the opposite direction of the apartment buildings. I pulled my car over quickly and as I did so, all the cars on both sides of the street suddenly stopped as well, as if just realizing the potential danger of the situation. I crossed the street and went up to him. He stopped as I approached, looking at me cautiously and backed away slightly towards the road. I didn’t want to scare him so I bent down a bit. Seeing a piece of paper in his hand, I asked him where his parent were but he did not answer. Instead, he said he was going to where his dad worked and then continued to run away from me along the median. At this point, a man in another car asked if I needed help and I said yes. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I saw his dad racing towards us and heard him calling out the boy’s name. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】读后续写参考范文一 At this point, a man in another car asked if I needed help and I said yes. Then he walked towards the boy, saying softly that we were just trying to help him. Hearing his gentle words, the boy eventually walked slowly out of the median and followed us to the sidewalk. He handed us the piece of paper, insisting on going to his dad’s office. There was nothing but some graffiti. Feeling confused, we had no choice but to comfort him. So we accompanied him at the entrance of the apartment until he suddenly cried “Dad”. I saw his dad racing towards us and heard him calling out the boy’s name. He ran to us swiftly through the crowd of cars. As he held his son tightly in his arms, he showed his gratitude sincerely, explaining that he had only been away for a moment and didn’t expect his son to wander off. He apologized for the inconvenience caused and promised to be more careful in the future. As they walked away, hand in hand, I felt a sense of warmth and joy, knowing that my small act of kindness had made a difference in someone’s life. At this point, a man in another car asked if I needed help and I said yes. We exchanged a quick glance. I caught the boy’s attention, trying to persuade him to walk out of the median in a soft voice. The man quickly got out of his car, approaching the boy quietly. Then he gently grabbed the boy’s arm and took him to the pavement safely. We unfolded that paper, expecting to find a certain address or phone number. To our disappointment, nothing but the boy’s graffiti. We comforted and entertained the boy until he suddenly cried “Dad”. I saw his dad racing towards us and heard him calling out the boy’s name. The young boy excitedly ran to his father and embraced him tightly. Witnessing their heartwarming reunion, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. The father expressed his gratitude for our assistance and explained that the boy had sneaked out of the office while he was asleep. This experience reminded me of the importance of remaining watchful and always being ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. 词汇激活 行为类 ①走向:walk towards/approach ②陪他:accompany him /keep him company ③抓住小男孩的手臂:seize the boy’s arm / grab the boy’s arm 情绪类 ①感谢:show his appreciation/show his gratitude/be grateful/express his gratitude ②感到困惑:feeling confused / feeling puzzled 【点睛】[高分句型1]. I wanted to stay at home and play my favourite games. I wanted to listen to some music and then play football with my friends. I wanted to hang out with my friends and watch a movie. I wanted to enjoy a big meal in the restaurant and chat with my friends till midnight. At 7:30, Dad was again shouting at me to get up. So, I got up, put some casual clothes on and lay in the sofa in the sitting room for a little bit. My dad walked in, urging me to put on some nice clothes that were suitable for me to walk around in on such a hot day. I asked, "Why should I do that? I won't go out. I'm just staying at home. I have a lot of businesses to deal with.,,Looking me directly in the eyes, Dad told me something about the place called Give Kids the World. It was designed for the families to spend a vacation with their children who had a very serious illness. About four years ago, my dad became a volunteer, doing several jobs there, including serving food and giving gifts. I thought that would be very boring, but Dad insisted that I should go with him, promising that I would like it. Though I was unwilling, I still got dressed and went into the car. Dad drove me to a village not very far from our community. When we arrived at the storehouse in the middle of the village, there were already some people sorting out the food and gifts. We immediately joined them, putting the food into boxes and the gifts on the back of a cart. 注意:1.续写词数应为150左右。 2.请按以下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Para 1:Then, Dad told me that we were going to deliver a toy to every child from door to door in the village.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Para 2:Once back in that cart, Dad told me that they all had a life-threatening illness and that they might not live to see tomorrow._________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 范文: Then, Dad told me that we were going to deliver a toy to every child from door to door in the village. We came to the first house and a woman answered the door. Sitting in the middle of the living room was a little boy in a wheelchair. I gave him the gift, and his face lit up with joy. In another house, I met a girl who was deaf and only partially sighted. Seeing the gift, she got excited and made a sign with her hands, which, her mom said, was the sign for thanks. Once back in that cart, Dad told me that they all had a life-threatening illness and that they might not live to see tomorrow. Suddenly, I realized I should be more thankful that I didn't have these illnesses. I no longer want to enjoy myself at home, play football or watch movies with my friends. I now go to the village regularly and I have even taken my friends along. We would much rather be doing this, seeing things that not a lot of people really get to see and making a difference in these kids' lives. Passage5人与社会(登山探险) (2023-2024广安高二下期末) Surviving Mount Rainier Bad luck and poor timing left Kart and three climbers stuck on Mount Rainier for several long days. They faced mountain climbing’s toughest tests. One man suffered altitude sickness; ice and rockfall rained down at night; cold nights in a tent that got torn left them hypothermic(体温过低的). Calm confidence, skill and the courage to continue up the route, despite illness and injury, likely saved their lives. The climbers set out on a Friday, camping low on the route the first night because they were concerned about rockfall after a climber had recently died in an accident at the route’s typical high camp. On Saturday, at about 10,500 feet, one of the climbers became sick from the altitude, which began to slow them down. They needed to keep moving, so they put him in the lead so he could move at a pace he was comfortable with. By Sunday evening, the ill climber was exhausted, and they had to make an unplanned camp on steep snow. They were in a bad place—on a platform about the size of a table under an ice cliff. The wind got stronger during the night, ripping the tent and snapping the poles. They tried to secure it by placing their packs and rocks around the edges. Finally, they just stuck their feet between the rocks and held the tent with their bodies. It was a cold night. 注意: 1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右; 2. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好; Paragraph 1: On Monday, they managed to call 911 but forgot to ask how to communicate with the rangers (护林员) before losing signal. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2 On Wednesday, they gathered everything and decided to carry on with their climb. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 On Monday, they managed to call 911 but forgot to ask how to communicate with the rangers (护林员) before losing signal. They set up what was left of the tent as best they could and stayed where they were, praying for the early arrival of their salvation. But for several days, they watched beyond all hope as high winds prevented the rangers’ attempts at a helicopter rescue. Their food was running out and they shared a single bottle of snow melt each day. Then an icefall buried their tent platform and squeezed them together. It was impossible to climb down. On Wednesday, they gathered everything and decided to carry on with their climb. They climbed up slowly and carefully, resting when they were weak. It didn’t take long until the wind froze them in place. That was the scariest moment. Their spirits began to sink and they started to doubt if they could continue. Kart thought of all the people who loved him, and it really hit him they must be worried. As he tried to climb again and again, he just kept yelling out to his friends, “We have to get there.” However, as they got onto the final slope to the summit, the weather cleared. Suddenly, a helicopter appeared out of nowhere. They were rescued. 词汇激活: 行为类: ①期盼:pray for/expect/hope for ②尽最大努力做某事:try to do/spare no effort to do ③大声喊:yell out /shout out/speak in a loud voice 情绪类: ①失去信心:lose heart/ their spirits begin to sink ②积极:positive attitude/act positively ③害怕:scared/frightened 【点睛】【高分句型1】They set up what was left of the tent as best they could and stayed where they were, praying for the early arrival of their salvation. On one shift, I sensed something just before going off duty at 11 am. I put down the tray(托盘) on the table and suddenly it fell off the table. At first I thought I had accidentally knocked it over, but then I felt the whole building shaking and heard patients were screaming.   I realized that an earthquake was happening. I quickly caught hold of a nearby patient, who was terribly frightened and pushed her under a bed. And then, I got under another bed myself.  As soon as the earthquake stopped, I decided to try and get the patient safely outside. I carried her out and helped her down to the grassland, where several other people had gathered. Afraid that my other workmates were in danger, I went back inside the building again. When I met Lucy ,our ward sister(护士长),I found her patient couldn't walk. We made a seat for the patient by linking our hands and arms, and carried her outside together. We went back through the building to check no one was left behind in our ward(病房). Just then, we saw that a man doctor was calling for volunteers to go down to other wards with him to help more people. So we went together. The doctor went ahead of us and found one of the nurses partially covered with rubble(碎石),luckily still alive. Suddenly, the aftershock (余震)struck and the doctor ordered us to leave. As their chemistry teacher and class advisor, I watched as our team, led by Tom, the captain, fought hard. Tom’s quick moves and precise passes inspired his teammates. They battled as one, making every play count. The game was intense, with both teams neck and neck. In the final seconds, Tom made a daring drive to the hoop (篮筐), but the opponent scored a last-minute shot. We lost by just one point. The next morning, the classroom was filled with a heavy atmosphere. Tom sat quietly, his head down, still weighed down by the loss. The rest of the class mirrored his mood — silent and withdrawn. It was clear that the defeat had dampened their spirits. I knew I had to do something to lift their spirits and remind them to paying more attention to the process. The first class of the day was chemistry. As I looked at the lesson plan quickly, an idea began to take shape. I quickly prepared the necessary laboratory equipment and walked into the classroom. “Alright, everyone,” I said, trying to get their attention. “I’m going to conduct an experiment, and I want you to observe it carefully. You’ll need to describe what you see afterward.” The room grew a little quieter as curiosity began to catch on. They turned their attention to me, and I could see a sign of interest in their eyes. I picked up a piece of magnesium ribbon (镁条) and held it with a holder. When I brought it close to the burner fire, the ribbon started to flash. Hands shot up, and one student said, “The magnesium ribbon burned so brightly, even though it turned into powder at the end.” I nodded, “Exactly! It’s like our basketball game. The process of striving, the teamwork, and the effort you put in are what truly matter, not just the final score.” The students seemed to understand, their faces brightening. I could see the wheels turning in their minds as they connected the experiment to their own experiences. With my encouragement, Tom opened up and shared more. “I realized we shouldn’t be too focused on winning or losing,” he said. “We should enjoy the process and learn from it.” The class nodded in agreement. From then on, they started to train harder, focusing on improving their skills rather than just the outcome. Over time, their efforts paid off. In the next school activity, they performed exceptionally well, showing great teamwork and a positive attitude. 3.词汇激活: 行为类: ①关注:focus on/concentrate on ②享受:enjoy/appreciate ③提升:improve/enhance 情绪类: ①焕发光芒:brighten/light up ②积极的:positive/enthusiastic/active 【点睛】【高分句型1】The magnesium ribbon burned so brightly, even though it turned into powder at the end.(运用了even though引导的状语从句) 【高分句型2】The process of striving, the teamwork, and the effort you put in are what truly matter, not just the final score.(运用了省略that引导的定语从句以及what引导的表语从句) Passage 8 人与自我(亲情) (2024-2025西昌市高二下期中) 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 A Special Gift I always believe that there are certain gifts sticking in our minds for a variety of reasons. The gift given to me that I treasured most was a doll named Patsy. I met her in a gift shop when I was nine. On holding Patsy I immediately fell in love with her and couldn’t even bear to part from her. At that time, my mother noticed it and at Christmas, as I received the gift from her, I was surprised to find my dream doll in the box. From then on Patsy became my baby and I loved her dearly. A month later, I was on my way to the cinema when I glimpsed some lovely gifts in pretty boxes through the window of the gift shop. Seeing them reminded me that my mother’s birthday was a few months away. Wouldn’t it be nice, I thought, if I could give her something really special, just like the gift she gave me? I stepped inside and caught sight of a beautiful dress hung on the coat stand, which I was sure my mother would like. So I asked the saleswoman its price. The lady must have seen my disappointment when she told me how much it would cost. But she had a suggestion which immediately lifted my spirits. She took out a notebook from under the counter and wrote my name as well as the item I wanted to buy on it, and in return I paid her five cents from my six cents pocket money. It meant no candies that day but I didn’t care. At the age of nine, I made my very first installment (分期付款)and felt like a grown-up. From then on, every Saturday on my way to the cinema, I went to the shop and paid a few cents which the lady dutifully recorded on her notebook. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为 150 左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 The day before my mother’s birthday, I paid the last two cents. As the lady wrapped the gift in brown paper, tied it with a piece of string, and carefully put it into a gift box, I attentively signed my name on the notebook, meaning that I had paid off all my debts. I thanked her and excitedly left the shop. “Be careful you don’t lose it,” she called after me. “I won’t!” I responded. Carrying the gift, I skipped away, singing happily to myself. The special day finally came. I placed the box on the table, hopping from one foot to the other, as my mom untied the knot and slowly peeled away the brown paper. My heart was racing. Then, as I bit into my bottom lip, the content was revealed. “Do you like it?” I asked excitedly. My mom didn’t say a word, but I got the answer from her face on which the same delighted smile as mine was worn when I received Patsy from her. 词汇激活 行为类①离开:leave/go away②回答:respond/answer③解开:untie/undo 情绪类①高兴地:happily/gladly/merrily②激动地:excitedly/with excitement 【点睛】[高分句型1] As the lady wrapped the gift in brown paper, tied it with a piece of string, and carefully put it into a gift box, I attentively signed my name on the notebook, meaning that I had paid off all my debts.(运用由as引导的时间状语从句和现在分词作状语以及that引导的宾语从句) [高分句型2] My mom didn’t say a word, but I got the answer from her face on which the same delighted smile as mine was worn when I received Patsy from her.(运用由介词+关系代词which引导的限制性定语从句和when引导的时间状语从句) Passage 9 (2024-2025陕西市高二下期中) 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写一段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 A funny thing happened to Arthur when he was on the way to work one day. Arthur turned and looked inside at the face of a young man who looked worried. Arthur stopped and said, “It looks like you’ve got a problem.” “I’m afraid so. I’m in a big hurry but I can’t start my car.” “Is there something I can do to help?” Arthur asked. The young man looked at the two suitcases in the back seat and then said, “Thanks. If you’re sure it wouldn’t be too much trouble, you could help me get these suitcases into a taxi.” “No trouble at all. I’d be glad to help.” The young man got out and took one of the suitcases from the back seat. After placing it on the ground, he turned to get the other one. Just as Arthur picked up the first suitcase and started walking, he heard the long loud noise of an alarm. It was from the bank. There had been a robbery (抢劫)! Park Avenue had been quiet a moment before. Now the air was filled with the sound of the alarm and the shouts of people running from all directions. Cars stopped and the passengers joined the crowd in front of the bank. People asked each other, “What happened?” But everyone had a different answer. Arthur still carrying the suitcase, turned to look at the bank and walked right into a young woman in front of him. She looked at the suitcase and then at him. I had planned to fly to Vienna and take a bus to Prague for a conference. Due to a big storm, my flight had been delayed by an hour and a half. I touched down in Vienna just 30 minutes before the departure of the last bus to Prague. The moment I got off the plane, I ran like crazy through the airport building and jumped into the first taxi on the rank without a second thought. That was when I met Gunter. I told him where I was going, but he said he hadn't heard of the bus station. I thought my pronunciation was the problem, so I explained again more slowly, but he still looked confused. When I was about to give up, Gunter fished out his little phone and rang up a friend. After a heated discussion that lasted for what seemed like a century, Gunter put his phone down and started the car. Finally, with just two minutes to spare we rolled into the bus station. Thankfully, there was a long queue (队列) still waiting to board the bus. Gunter parked the taxi behind the bus, turned around, and looked at me with a big smile on his face. "We made it," he said. Just then I realised that I had zero cash in my wallet. I flashed him an apologetic smile as I pulled out my Portuguese bankcard. He tried it several times, but the card machine just did not play along. A feeling of helplessness washed over me as I saw the bus queue thinning out. At this moment, Gunter pointed towards the waiting hall of the bus station. There, at the entrance, was a cash machine. I jumped out of the car, made a mad run for the machine, and popped my card in, only to read the message: "Out of order. The day before my mother’s birthday, I paid the last two cents. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The special day finally came. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 9 (2024-2025陕西市高二下期中) 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写一段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 A funny thing happened to Arthur when he was on the way to work one day. As he walked along Park Avenue near the First National Bank, he heard the sound of someone trying to start a car. He tried again and again but couldn’t get the car moving. Arthur was surprised. “Why is she looking at me like that?” he thought. “The suitcase! She thinks I’m the bank thief!” Arthur looked around at the crowd of people. He became frightened, and without another thought, he started to run. Paragraph 1: As he was running, Arthur heard the young man shouting behind, “Stop! Stop!” ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: The taxi stopped in front of the police station. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Passage 10 友情 2024年新高考读后续写 阅读下面材料, 根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段, 使之构成一篇完整的短文 I met Gunter on a cold, wet and unforgettable evening in September. Sorry." I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news.________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Four days later, when I was back in Vienna, I called Gunter as promised. __________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ / 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
