Dear Peter,
It’s true that starting from next term, we’ll have at least one AI class every two weeks at school. I think it necessary to have AI classes. It is clear that AI technology is used more widely, and we have to catch up with the changes. Honestly speaking, I can’t wait to have AI classes. I hope to understand how AI works and learn to use some AI tools for my life and study. I also want to explore how to create simple AI tools.
As we all know, the age of AI is coming. That makes creativity the most important ability for humans. Creativity helps us stay special. AI may be powerful, but its ideas come from humans. (100w)

Butterflies are a key part of a healthy environment. Like bees, they help plants grow by
spreading pollen (花粉 ). By doing this, butterflies help plants create seeds and fruits. This is
especially important for farmers. And, like other insects, butterflies also provide important food for
other animals, including birds.
Now, a new study shows that butterfly numbers have dropped sharply. Researchers found that
the number of butterflies in the US fell on average by 22% between 2000 and 2020. They said some
species (种类 ) are doing far worse than others. In all, the study covered 554 different butterfly
species. About one in three of those showed a serious drop in numbers, by more than 50%. Only 3%
of all species that the researchers studied had their numbers go up over the 20-year period. Nick
Haddad, one of the scientists in the study, puts it simply: “ ▲ ”
But this did not happen out of the blue. As more and more land is taken over by roads and
buildings, there is less space for butterflies to live and lay eggs. And rising temperatures lead to
hotter and drier environment. When plants are hurt by heat, it’s harder for butterflies to survive as
they depend on plants. Pesticides are another reason. They don’t just kill harmful insects. These
chemicals also harm butterflies and other “good” insects.
It’s likely that many other insects are in trouble, too. Scientists say it’s important to save
butterflies and other insects before it’s too late. With good conditions, their numbers may have a
chance of increasing.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is getting smarter, faster, and is more
widely used in our daily life. But it also raises a big question: What
makes us human?
It is true that AI can recognize feelings. It reads people’s facial
expressions and language to judge whether someone is happy or not. But
AI doesn’t experience joy when solving a problem or heartbreak when facing loss. It may understand
the meaning of those feelings, but that’s different from truly feeling them.
As I describe in my book Experiential Intelligence, experience is one of the most powerful
things that shapes us, from the moment we’re born. Experience is about personal growth. Every
failure, success, and challenge influence our future decisions. AI, on the other hand, doesn’t have
experience—it has data. It doesn’t learn from pain, joy, failure, or success like humans.
Humans make choices while AI follows rules. We change our minds, and do things that don’t
always make sense. But AI always follows its programming. It doesn’t have independent thought.

The biggest difference? We are aware of ourselves. AI can recognize itself as AI, but it doesn’t
have self-awareness. It doesn’t question its purpose, or wonder about what comes next. Scientists
don’t fully understand why humans have self-awareness. But they think that it makes us human.
As AI continues to develop, the most important thing you can do is not to compete with it, but
to lead it. Instead of fearing it, learn to make it your teammate.
76. How does AI recognize feelings?
77. What is experience about according to the writer?
78. What makes us humans in scientists’ opinion?
79. How many differences between humans and AI are mentioned in the passage?
