①Schools are supposed to be safe places for children. Sadly, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC 国际红十字会) has seen accidents happen in schools from time to time. For this reason, the ICRC began its education programme in 2017. First-aid training in schools around the world is one of its plans.
②Khalida Asgarova is a 16-year-old student who wants to become a doctor. She lives in Aghdam in Azerbaijan (阿塞拜疆).She took part in ICRC’s first-aid training in spring of 2021.One important lesson she learned was that in emergency situations everyone must take care of themselves first before helping others.
