【原文】Today we went on a school trip to a farm. It was tiring but great fun. In the morning, we walked around the farm. There were large tents with tomatoes, cabbages and many other fruits and vegetables. The farmer told us about how these fruits and vegetables go from the fields to our tables. I was very interested, because I usually only see them in the supermarket. Then we got straight to work. The farmer taught us how to cut branches and leaves from tomato plants. This helps them to grow more fruit. Finally, the farmer let us take some vegetables home. My mom cooked some for dinner and they were fresh and delicious. They certainly taste better when you work for them, so I ate two bowls of rice. One thing I learned today, farming isn’t easy. It made me think of the same: every grain comes from hard work. Today was really a day to remember.
二、阅读理解(20小题,每小题2分,共40分)
阅读下面四篇语言材料,然后按文后要求做题。
A
Want to have some tasty ice cream? Try making it by yourself at home. It is much easier than you may think. Just “shake” your way to it!
What you will need
*2 small plastic bags *ice cubes (冰块) *1 big plastic bag * a towel (毛巾)
*salt *milk * sugar * cream
Steps
Step 1
Put the cream, milk and sugar in one small plastic bag. Slowly seal (密封) the bag to get as much air out as possible.
Put this bag inside the second small bag. Seal it again. Using two bags can keep the mix from spilling (溢出) on other things.
Step 2
Put the two-bagged mix into the big plastic bag. Add the ice and salt to the big bag. Seal it well.
Step 3
Hold the bag with a towel. Shake and rub (摩擦) the bag. Keep doing this for 5 to 8 minutes. Then, open the bag and enjoy your ice cream!
Top tip
Salt makes the ice even cooler. So, the milk mix is cold enough to freeze.
Science behind shaking
Milk has fat, protein (蛋白质) and water. If you put the mix in the freezer, the water separates and turns into big chunks (块) of ice. This makes it hard to get creamy ice cream. But when you shake and rub milk, water can stay inside the milk and mix well with other things.
根据材料内容选择最佳答案。
21. What should you put in the first small plastic bag?
A. Milk and sugar. B. Salt sugar and cream.
C. Ice cubes and salt. D. Cream, milk and sugar.

A. To make the shaking easier. B. To keep the air inside.
C. To keep the mix from spilling. D. To separate the water.
23. How long should you shake and rub the bag to make the ice cream?
A. For 3 to 5 minutes. B. For 5 to 8 minutes. C. For 8 to 10 minutes. D. For 10 to 15 minutes.
24. What is the main purpose of adding salt to the ice?
A. It makes the ice even colder. B. It makes the ice cream creamier.
C. It makes the ice cream much harder. D. It makes the ice cream more beautiful.
25. Where can we probably read this text?
A. In a city guidebook. B. On an art website.
C. In a science magazine. D. On a community notice board.

Blake Miller is a well-known and busy businessman. One day, he finally managed to spare some time and take his father out to a fancy (高档的) restaurant for a special meal.
As they stepped into the restaurant, the soft and beautiful violin music immediately caught their attention. A young and talented violinist was standing in a corner of the restaurant, playing with all his heart. The customers in the restaurant were all lost in the wonderful music.
While enjoying the music, Blake’s memories came flooding back like a powerful tide (潮水). He remembered that when he was young, he had once been crazy about the violin. Back then, he would spend a lot of time practicing the violin every day. Every time he played, he could feel the joy and satisfaction deep in his heart. However, as time went by, he gradually devoted (投入) all his energy to his business and had to give up his beloved violin in order to pursue (追求) his career.
At this moment, he couldn’t help but say to his father, “If I had kept up with the violin, maybe I would be playing here now.” His father nodded slowly, with his eyes full of love and understanding. “Yes, my child. But in that case, you wouldn’t be dining here now.” he replied gently. Then his father continued after a moment of silence, “Life is full of different choices. People can take completely different paths and live quite different lives. But everyone should keep this in mind: There is no ‘if’ in life and every choice has its meaning. The best thing to do is to value what we have in the present moment.”

Sometimes, we get a paper cut when turning the pages of our textbooks. Did you know some papers are more “dangerous” than others?
Three scientists from Denmark found that 65-micrometer (微米) -thick paper is most likely to cut our skin. They won the Physics Prize for this at the 2024 Pineapple Science Award in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, on November 23.
The scientists got papers with different thicknesses from 30 to 220 micrometers. They had tests on man-made fingers made from ballistic gel (弹道凝胶). This gel has the toughness (韧性) of human skin.
For thin paper, the scientists found it couldn’t cut the “fingers” - it just bent (弯曲). And for thicker paper, it left a mark on the fingers but couldn’t break the “skin”.
When they tried the 65-micrometer-thick paper, the scientists found it cut the fingers the most, about once every five tries. This is close to the thickness of a journal (期刊) paper, like Nature and Science. The A4 printer paper we often use is about 100 micrometers thick and is much safer.
The cutting angle (角度) is also important. Pushing the paper straight down onto the fingers didn’t often make a cut. Pushing it at a slanted (倾斜的) angle made more cuts.
The scientists hope their findings can help make safer things out of paper. They also made a cheap paper knife that can cut through apples and chicken.
根据材料内容选择最佳答案。
31. What thickness of paper was found to be most likely to cut the fingers?
A. 30 micrometers. B. 65 micrometers. C. 100 micrometers. D. 220 micrometers.
32. Where did the scientists do their tests?
A. On human fingers. B. On plastic skin. C. On man-made fingers. D. On animal skin.
33. What happened when the thin paper was tested?
A. It bent without cutting. B. It broke the skin.
C. It cut the fingers deeply. D. It left marks on the fingers.
34. What can we learn from Paragraphs 5 and 6?
A. Journal paper is normally safe. B. Slanted pushes result in more cuts.
C. Straight-down pushes often cause cuts. D. The A4 printer paper cuts the fingers easily.
35. How can the findings help us?
A. They help us make better use of paper. B. They help factories produce paper faster.
C. They help lower the cost of making paper. D. They help us make safer knives for cutting paper.
【答案】31. B 32. C 33. A 34. B 35. A
【解析】

Everyone has different opinions. This is very common. Your opinion is one of the things that make you different. It is OK to express your own opinions. It allows you to share yourself with others. No one likes to make friends with people who aren’t honest about themselves. ____36____
First, listen carefully to other people. Maybe you are eager (热切的) to explain your side. ____37____ You will also better understand their sides.
____38____ Remember, you’re not trying to start an argument. Don’t express yourself too eagerly. Winning or losing is not the point. Don’t try to force your friend to think like you.
Last but most importantly, show your friends that you value your friendship, even if you disagree about some things. This can prevent both of you from becoming too emotional (情绪化的). For example, Lucy likes classical music, such as famous piano compositions (作品). ____39____ In Lucy’s case, she could try this: “I know you really like rock music, but I’m afraid it’s just not my cup of tea. I prefer classical music. I think if I could find a rock version (版本) of a piano composition, it would be fun to share it with you.”
In the future, you may have different opinions with many people, including your parents and friends. In fact, this can be a good thing. ____40____ For example, sometimes you may not realize that your ideas are wrong. But by sharing them with others, you have a chance to learn.
Also, expressing different opinions openly makes you look more confident. The confidence will build over time and can shape your personality.
根据材料内容,从下面五个选项中选出能填入文中空缺处的最佳选项,使短文意思通顺,内容完整。
A. You can even learn from it.
B. But her best friend prefers rock music.
C. Next, express your own opinion politely.

根据材料内容选择最佳答案。

D
