Going to an animal hospital is also a good chance for me to put my love to good use. I will spend several hours working there every week. Will you please give me a chance, please let me know.

I have a golden dog named Bobby. He is an amazing dog and once saved me.
I usually take him to a big natural park when I have time. He can remember all the routes (路线) in the park. When I park my car outside the park, he always jumps out of the car with excitement and goes in front of me, knowing where I would go.
One day, I left the car in the same place to take a walk in the park. But Bobby seemed very strange. He didn’t want to go ahead in the park. I tried to call him, but he just sat and kept barking at me. So I said, “Then, I will keep walking ahead.” I walked about 200 meters away while he was still barking. Then he suddenly rushed towards me, bit (咬) my trousers and crazily tried to pull my leg. He didn’t let me take another step.
At last, I had to give up walking ahead, but I still didn’t understand his action. “OK, you don’t want me to walk today. Let’s go home then.” He quickly went back towards the car, but he stopped every a few meters to see whether I was following him. Then, we went home safely.
I couldn’t understand what he did in the park until the next morning. I was sitting in a coffee shop and reading the newspaper. In the front﹣page was a big photo of a black bear. The reporter said that it appeared in the same park that day. “There was no accident, and we took him out of the park.” A policeman said to the reporter. So now, I knew why Bobby was always trying to go ahead in the park. I didn’t see or hear any black bear. However, Bobby did very early!
Treat your dogs with kindness. Some day they will help you and even save you.

This intelligent system receives user instructions, whether they are spoken or typed in, and then forms replies with highly related knowledge, which has comes from many different sources, including a great deal of online databases and well-known reference materials. In the educational area, opinions about DeepSeek are divided. Some educators see it as a great opportunity. It can be used to improve students’ writing skills by providing model texts, or to introduce different cultural concepts in an easy way. Others, however, worry that students might over-depend on it, using it to cut corners and just copy the answers instead of thinking independently. This has led to some schools considering limitations on its use.
Although DeepSeek has these drawbacks, it shows great promise. It can make attractive stories, offer detailed explanations for historical events, and even provide useful suggestions for daily life problems.

D
In a study published in Nature Communications, researchers from the University of Zurich told 50 people they’d be receiving about $100. Half of the people were asked to spend that money on themselves, and half were asked to spend it on someone they knew. Before giving out any money, the researchers brought everyone into the lab and asked them to think about a friend they’d like to give a gift to and how much they would spend. They then performed functional MRI scans ( 扫描) to get to know activity in three parts of the brain related to social behavior, generosity(慷慨), happiness and decision-making.
Their choices - and their brain activity - seemed to depend on how they had promised to spend the money earlier. Those who had promised to spend money on other people were likely to make more generous decisions throughout the experiment (实验). They also had more interaction between the parts of the brain related to altruism (无私) and happiness, and they reported higher levels of happiness after the experiment was over.
Another piece of good news was that planning to give away just a little bit of money had the same effects on happiness as giving away a lot. “At least in our study, the amount spent did not matter,” says lead author Philippe Tobler. “Even little things have a beneficial effect - like bringing coffee to one’s workmates.”
It’s not yet clear how long these warm feelings last after being generous. But studies have shown that older people who are kind more likely to have better health, says Tobler, and other research has suggested that spending money on others can be effective at lowering blood pressure. “Moreover, there is a positive connection between helping others and life expectancy (预期寿命) , ” he adds.
Next time you think that the best way to make yourself feel better is to buy yourself a treat, consider that the opposite is likely true. “It is worth giving it a try, even if you think it would not work,” Tobler says. “Repeated practice is probably needed so that giving becomes second nature.”
40. What happened to those promising to spend money on other people?
A.They were much happier. B.They had less brain activity.
C.They were slower at making decisions. D.They experienced higher levels of stress.
41. What does Tobler want to explain by mentioning bringing coffee to workmates?
A.It isn’t hard to behave generously.
B.Being generous will pay off in the end.
C.The amount of kindness did not matter.
D.Small acts of generosity can be seen everywhere.
42. What does paragraph 4 mainly tell us?
A.Ways to show generosity.
B.Health benefits of being generous.
C.Reasons for performing acts of generosity.
D.Influences generous people have on others.
43. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?
A. Understanding the magic of the Brain Through Generous Acts
B. The Deep Effect of Money: Self-centered or Altruism?
C. Spending Money on Others Can Bring People Happiness
D. Health Benefits Hidden Behind Generous Spending Habits
第四部分 书面表达
七、阅读表达(共10分,第44-46题每小题2分, 第47题4分)
阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
Sometimes a book comes along that isn’t just “interesting” or “well done” — it’s a book where it seems like the author looked into your brain and wrote a book specifically for you. A book like that for me was published this week. It’s called 100 Things We’ve Lost to the Internet, written by Pamela Paul.
Paul lists 100 things we used to do that the Internet has either changed or taken over: writing letters, print newspapers, the joys of being bored, and not having all the knowledge in the world in your pocket.
I’m a fan of different knowledge, so certain things on the list—Being the Only One, finding Out Who That Actor is—hit me: remembering detailed facts is no longer a necessity when everyone has the ability to find the answer in seconds.
On and on the list goes, more small things are added to the list. What this book does so well is that it's a list of ways in which the world now is different from the world then.
Clearly, Paul isn’t saying that everything back then was better. Time goes on, after all. and it’s difficult to argue against the many benefits that the Internet has brought into our lives. But that isn’t really the point. It’s not about whether it used to be better. It’s that it used to be different.
100 Things We’ve Lost to the Internet is a fun read for those of us who share some of Paul’s memories and experiences. We remember what it was like and we like to remember. The view has changed, and no doubt it will change again as technology’s advancement continues quickly. This book serves as a reminder of the simple truth that when gains are made, sometimes something is lost.
44. What’s the name of the book?
45. What things does Paul list in the book?
46. Why is the book a fun to read for us?
47. What do you think of the book? Why?

It also undergoes continuous improvement with the help of experts. This combination makes DeepSeek a go-to tool for knowledge on different topics.

However, DeepSeek is not without its limitations. It operates based on the data it has been trained with, so sometimes when the latest developments are happening, it might fall short. For example, for very recent events, its reactions might not be as up-to-date as one would hope. Additionally, when dealing with some questions, it may offer answers that are not enough clear.

Why?

Ben and I carried bags for the old and helped them get on and off the train. Many people smiled and said thanks to us. At eleven, we finished our work and went home. We were tired but felt happy. “I looked online.” said Ollie, “And if I ____28____ up my chore money for two years, four months, and five days, I can afford a first-edition copy that looks almost exactly like yours.”
“Hang on,” said Abuela. “You left Sam’s book on this table?”
Ollie nodded.
“Well, I was gathering up some odds and ends (零碎物品) to take to the garage sale,” said Abuela, “There’s a ____29____ I accidentally put it into the donation box.”
We ran out to the car, opened the box, and…
“Yes!” I shouted. I grabbed my book and held on to it like I would never let it go.

This intelligent system receives user instructions, whether they are spoken or typed in, and then forms replies with highly related knowledge, which has comes from many different sources, including a great deal of online databases and well-known reference materials. It also undergoes continuous improvement with the help of experts. This combination makes DeepSeek a go-to tool for knowledge on different topics.

40. A. They were much happier
解析:实验表明为他人花钱的人“更快乐”。
41. C. The amount did not matter
解析:Tobler 举例证明“金额不重要”。
42. B. Health benefits of being generous
解析:第四段讨论慷慨对健康的积极影响。
43. C. Spending Money on Others Can Bring Happiness

Why?
44. 100 Things We’ve Lost to the Internet
45. 100 things changed or taken over by the Internet (如 writing letters, print newspapers 等)
46. Because it reminds us of lost traditions and triggers nostalgia.
47. 示例:I think the book is insightful. It highlights how technology reshapes our lives, making us reflect on what we’ve gained and lost.

Helping mothers wash and fold the clothes will help kids learn and understand how to keep up our their home when they become adults.
