Despite growing up in a family of doctors, he was deeply fascinated by animation from a young age. Although he studied medicine in the University, his passion for animation never faded. After graduating, he worked at an advertising company but felt unfulfilled. Determined to pursue his dream, he quit his job and dedicated himself to animation without stable income, supported by his mother’s monthly pension(养老金) of 1,000 yuan. In 2008, Jiaozi completed his first animated short film and it received wide recognition, which strengthened his determination to pursue his animation dream. In 2015, he was invited by Enlight Media to direct an animated film. Choosing the mythological figure Ne Zha, Jiaozi aimed to reinvent the character, creating a rebellious yet heroic version that opposed traditional expectations. In classic Chinese mythology, Ne Zha is often seen as a heroic figure who fights against evil and upholds justice, but in the new version, Ne Zha struggles with his identity and fate with internal conflicts and loneliness, making him a more complex character. In the following days, while Yang Yu and his team faced numerous challenges, they never gave up. After more than three years, “Ne Zha: I Am the Destiny” finally debuted(首秀), which won the love and praise of the audience with its inventive storytelling, emotional depth, and amazing visuals. In 2025, upon the release of “Nezha2: Rebirth of the Demon Child”, a sequel to Ne Zha, it took the box office by storm with 15 billion, breaking records in China and across the global film industry. Jiaozi’s success revitalized(振兴) China’s animation industry, inspiring a new generation of creators. 4. What is Jiaozi’s major in the university? A. Advertising. B. Medicine. C. Animation. D. Film-making. 5. Why did Jiaozi choose Ne Zha as the main character ? A. Because he got funded by Enlight Media. B. Because he wanted to repay his mother for her help. C. Because he intended to recreate the classic figure. D. Because he desired to break the box office record. 6. How is the Ne Zha created by Jiaozi different from the traditional one? A. He is a perfect hero. B. He is unwilling to obey rules. C. He fights against evil forces. D. He has no family or friends. 7. Which of the following words can best describe Jiaozi? A. Talented and humorous. B. Optimistic and responsible. C. Adaptable and humble. D. Creative and determined. B 5. C 6. B 7. 根据第一段中“Although he studied medicine in the University, his passion for animation never faded.(尽管他在大学学习医学,但他对动画的热情从未消退)”可知,饺子在大学的专业是医学。 根据第二段中“Choosing the mythological figure Ne Zha, Jiaozi aimed to reinvent the character, creating a rebellious yet heroic version that opposed traditional expectations.(饺子选择神话人物哪吒作为主角,是为了重塑这个角色,创造一个叛逆但又英勇的形象,与传统期望相反)”可知,饺子选择哪吒作为主角是因为他打算重塑这个经典形象。 根据第二段中“In classic Chinese mythology, Ne Zha is often seen as a heroic figure who fights against evil and upholds justice, but in the new version, Ne Zha struggles with his identity and fate with internal conflicts and loneliness, making him a more complex character.(在中国古典神话中,哪吒通常被视为一个与邪恶作斗争、维护正义的英雄人物,但在新版本中,哪吒与自己的身份和命运作斗争,内心充满冲突和孤独,使他成为一个更复杂的角色)”可知,饺子创作的哪吒与传统哪吒的不同之处在于,他是一个不愿意遵守规则的角色。 根据第一段中“Despite growing up in a family of doctors, he was deeply fascinated by animation from a young age.(尽管饺子成长在一个医生家庭,但他从小就对动画产生了浓厚的兴趣)”可知,他很有创意;根据第一段中“Determined to pursue his dream, he quit his job and dedicated himself to animation without stable income, supported by his mother’s monthly pension(养老金) of 1,000 yuan. (为了追求自己的梦想,他辞去了工作,全身心投入到动画事业中,没有稳定的收入,只靠母亲每月1000元的养老金生活)”可知,他很有决心。故选D。 C The right and left sides of our bodies are often thought of as mirror images of each other. However, the same does not hold true for the feet. “Nobody’s feet are exactly the same,” Dr. Corrine Renne, a podiatrist (足病专家) at New York Foot and Ankle, told Live Science. A 1983 study of 4,000 women and 2,800 men across the United States found that none of them had a pair of feet that were exactly alike in size or shape. Supporting that earlier research is a 2018 study from the SATRA Bulletin. After analyzing 2,890 people in the United Kingdom, the study discovered that up to 19% of people there may have feet differing in length by more than about one-sixth of an inch. “A similar trend is seen in the USA, and in China no less than 24 percent of people have a difference greater than 4 millimeters,” the 2018 study reported. A certain amount of asymmetry (不对称) in the human body is due to normal variation. Still, other factors can lead to these differences. “For instance, women can experience it during pregnancy,” Renne said. A number of birth conditions can lead to one foot being different than the other. For instance, “if you’re born with a club foot, that whole part is smaller than the opposite side,” Dr. Jacob Wynes, an associate professor at the University of Maryland, told Live Science. Injuries can alter foot size as well, especially during childhood, when the bones are still developing, the Center for Foot Care noted. If the difference in foot or limb length is severe enough, surgery may be necessary. In most cases, though, having feet of different sizes is just annoying. If you simply want to find shoes that fit, there are several options available. One way is to buy a pair of shoes that matches the larger foot and more importantly, use custom devices from podiatrists. Another way is to buy shoes in two different sizes. Renne added that specialty shoe stores can sell just one of each shoe size. 8. Why does the writer use data in Para.2? A. To support an argument. B. To prove a known fact. C. To arouse readers’ interest. D. To contrast with a previous research. 9. How many reasons are mentioned for foot asymmetry? A. 3 B. 4 C. 5 D. 6 10. What is the best solution for most people? A. Accepting a surgery. B. Buying two different pairs of shoes. C. Using tailored devices. D. Wearing shoes of the same size. 11. Which may be the best title of the passage? A. The Mystery of Our Feet B. Why Are Our Feet Two Different Sizes? C. Misunderstanding about Foot Asymmetry D. Asymmetry in Human Feet: Causes and Effects 【答案】8. A 9. B 10. C 11. 根据第二段中的“A 1983 study of 4,000 women and 2,800 men across the United States found that none of them had a pair of feet that were exactly alike in size or shape. Supporting that earlier research is a 2018 study from the SATRA Bulletin. (1983年的一项针对美国4000名女性和2800名男性的研究发现,他们的双脚在大小或形状上都不完全相同。2018年《SATRA公报》的一项研究支持了这一早期的研究结果。)”以及下文中列举的研究数据可知,这些数据被用来支持文章的核心论点,即“人类双脚的大小和形状并不完全相同”。故选A项。 根据第三段中的“A certain amount of asymmetry (不对称) in the human body is due to normal variation. (人体一定程度的不对称是由于正常的变异。)”、““For instance, women can experience it during pregnancy,” Renne said. (“例如,女性在怀孕期间可能会经历这种情况,”伦恩说。)”、“A number of birth conditions can lead to one foot being different than the other. (一些出生时的状况可能导致一只脚与另一只不同。)”和“Injuries can alter foot size as well, especially during childhood, when the bones are still developing, the Center for Foot Care noted. (足部护理中心指出,受伤也可能改变脚的大小,尤其是在童年时期,骨骼仍在发育时。)”可知,文章第三段列出了四个导致脚部不对称的原因:正常的变异、怀孕、先天性疾病以及童年时的受伤。故选B项。 【10题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后一段“If you simply want to find shoes that fit, there are several options available. One way is to buy a pair of shoes that matches the larger foot and more importantly, use custom devices from podiatrists. Another way is to buy shoes in two different sizes. Renne added that specialty shoe stores can sell just one of each shoe size. 根据第一段“The right and left sides of our bodies are often thought of as mirror images of each other. However, the same does not hold true for the feet. “Nobody’s feet are exactly the same,” Dr. Corrine Renne, a podiatrist (足病专家) at New York Foot and Ankle, told Live Science. D Protecting tropical forests is essential for preserving the biodiversity and ecosystem functions. However, their destruction is happening at an alarming rate to make way for crops. After these lands are short of nutrients they’re abandoned, which can lead to the natural regrowth of the forest that was once there. The finding suggests that so-called recovered forests, also known as secondary forests, could play a key role in restoring ecosystems. To better understand this process, Lourens Poorter at Wageningen University and his colleagues analyzed 77 secondary forest sites across the tropical regions of Central and South America, and in West Africa. These sites were all at various stages of regrowth — for example, some were 20 years old, and others were 120. The team contrasted each secondary forest with nearby old-growth forest — forests that haven’t had major disturbance. The more similar the secondary forests were to their neighboring old-growth forests reasoned the researchers, the more they had recovered. The team found that after 20 years, the average secondary forest that had grown from farmland that was used with low to medium intensity (强度) had recovered 78% of old-growth forest attributes (属性). ‌“It goes way faster than we thought,” says Poorter. But the researchers found significant discrepancy between the recovery time for the different forest attributes. Soils were the quickest to bounce back, with most recovery happening within 10 years. It took 25 — 60 years for plant species diversity to recover. Despite the enormous amount of deforestation (伐林) that has and continues to occur, there’s hope that these forests can bounce back naturally, says Poorter. Secondary forests currently make up over 28% of tropical forests in Central and South America, and are important for locking up carbon which is important to deal with climate change. In addition, they attract mammals, birds and insects back to the area, which is important for ecosystem restoration. 12. Why are the once-farmed forests deserted? A. Due to their poor soil quality. B. Due to the forest’s natural regrowth. C. Due to the preservation of ecosystems. D. Due to the need of making way for crops. 13. How did the researchers conduct the study? A. By learning more about forest attributes. B. By detecting threats to secondary forests. C. By measuring the recovery of secondary forests. D. By understanding the process of restoring ecosystems. 14. What does the underlined word “discrepancy” in Para. 5 mean? A. Difference. B. Dependence. C. Contrast. D. Link. 15. Which one is NOT the contributing factor of the forest recovery? A. The intensity of being used. B. The frequency of deforestation. C. The category of forest attributes. D. The similarity to the nearby primary forests. A 13. C 14. A 15. 根据第一段中“After these lands are short of nutrients they’re abandoned, which can lead to the natural regrowth of the forest that was once there. (这些土地缺乏养分后就会被遗弃,这会导致曾经生长在那里的森林自然再生)”可知,曾经被耕种过的森林被遗弃是因为土壤质量差、缺乏养分。故选A项。 根据第二段中“To better understand this process, Lourens Poorter at Wageningen University and his colleagues analyzed 77 secondary forest sites across the tropical regions of Central and South America, and in West Africa. These sites were all at various stages of regrowth — for example, some were 20 years old, and others were 120.(为了更好地理解这一过程,瓦赫宁根大学的Lourens Poorter和他的同事分析了中南美洲和西非热带地区的77个次生林地点。这些地点都处于不同的再生阶段——例如,有些是20岁,有些是120岁)”和第四段中“The team found that after 20 years, the average secondary forest that had grown from farmland that was used with low to medium intensity (强度) had recovered 78% of old-growth forest attributes (属性).(研究小组发现,20年后,从低到中等强度农田生长出来的次生林平均恢复了78%的原生林属性)”可知,研究人员是通过测量处于不同再生阶段的次生林的恢复情况来开展研究的。 根据第五段中“But the researchers found significant discrepancy between the recovery time for the different forest attributes. Soils were the quickest to bounce back, with most recovery happening within 10 years. It took 25 — 60 years for plant species diversity to recover. (但研究人员发现,不同森林属性的恢复时间存在显著……。土壤恢复最快,大部分恢复在10年内完成。植物物种多样性的恢复需要25到60年)”可知,大部分土壤恢复在10年内完成,而植物物种多样性的恢复需要25到60年,说明森林的不同属性恢复时间不同,有差异。故划线词“discrepancy”意思是“差异”,与A项“Difference”同义。故选A项。 根据第四段中“The team found that after 20 years, the average secondary forest that had grown from farmland that was used with low to medium intensity (强度) had recovered 78% of old growth forest attributes (属性). Overuse of digital technology can lead to the breakdown of cognitive abilities a phenomenon known as “Digital Dementia.” ___16___ To avoid it, it’s essential to train your memory and reduce dependency on technology. Here are five key strategies to help you. Motivation matters If someone says to you “Hey, if you remember our call tomorrow, I’ll give you $5,000,” instead of saying “Hey, remember our call tomorrow,” you are more likely to remember that you’ve scheduled the call. So, if you want to train yourself to have a stronger memory, give yourself a stronger motivation to do so. Observation is key How often do you forget someone’s name as soon as you hear it? The reason is likely that you weren’t entirely paying attention when you heard that name. ___17___ Use memory methods There are a set of tools that you can use when you want to remember something. ___18___ Also, be sure to employ them to the point where they become second nature. Associate new information with what you know In order to learn any new piece of information, link it to something familiar. ___19___ You remember that it’s red, sweet, fruit, pie, etc. Your mind is constantly making countless associations every minute. This is how you learn. ___20___ Information by itself is forgettable, but information combined with emotion becomes a long-term memory. When we add emotions to something, we may make it adventurous, action-filled, humorous so that we’re much more likely to remember it. By training memory through motivation, observation, and effective methods, we can reduce the negative effects of digital overuse and enhance our cognitive abilities. A. Think of a cherry, for example. B. Store information in your memory. C. Add emotion to make it memorable. D. Make sure you’re always carrying these around in your mental toolkit. E. Many people experience this after using smartphones for longer periods. F. Therefore, stay fully present in important moments to improve your memory. G. This occurs when we rely too heavily on devices to store and recall information. G 17. F 18. D 19. A 20. 【16题详解】 上文“Overuse of digital technology can lead to the breakdown of cognitive abilities, a phenomenon known as “Digital Dementia.”(数码痴呆症). Mrs. Green had a special bond with Mr. Brown, the bus driver who always woke her before her stop. But today was different. Mr. Brown wasn’t driving. Instead, a small man in a wrinkled uniform sat in his place. “Where’s Mr. Brown?” Mrs. Green asked, dropping her fare into the box. “I don’t know. They say he is driving on another route.” the new driver said coldly. Mrs. Green didn’t like this new driver. He didn’t seem like the type to do anyone a favor. She looked out the window. It was a warm afternoon. Despite her efforts to stay awake, the gentle rocking of the bus sent her into a deep sleep. The next thing she knew, a hand was shaking her shoulder. “Wake up, lady. We’ve come to the end of the line. Wake up.” Mrs. Green was having trouble waking up. She struggled to her feet. “Where am I?” she asked. “I was supposed to get off at Essex Avenue.” “You’re at the last stop, lady. Most of the buses make it here sooner or later. Come on, get off the bus. I have a schedule to keep to,” the driver said, then took her arm and helped her down the aisle. 注意: (1)续写词数应为150词左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Paragraph 1: As she stepped off the bus, she felt a sense of panic. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: “Are you OK, Mrs. Green ?” A familiar voice came from behind her. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 As she stepped off the bus, she felt a sense of panic. The unfamiliar surroundings made her heart race. The streets were quiet, and the buildings around her were unfamiliar. She tried to recall the route she usually took, but everything seemed alien. Her mind raced with thoughts of being lost, of never finding her way back home. The panic began to set in, and she felt tears welling up in her eyes. She stood there, alone and confused, not knowing which direction to turn. “Are you OK, Mrs. Green ?” A familiar voice came from behind her. It was Mr. Brown, her regular bus driver, whom she hadn’t expected to see off his usual route. It turned out that this was also his renewed route’s terminal stop. His presence was a beacon of comfort in her distress. He had noticed her confusion from a distance and approached her with a reassuring smile, offering to drive her back to a familiar street where she could find her way home. Grateful for his kindness, Mrs. Green accepted his help, the panic of the unknown replaced by the comfort of a familiar path home. 期待:expect/anticipate ②.注意到:notice/be aware of ③.代替:replace/take the place of 情绪类 ①.迷惑的:confused/puzzled ②.恐惧:panic/fright/scare 【点睛】[高分句型1]. B Yang Yu, later known as Jiaozi, was born in 1980 in Sichuan. C The right and left sides of our bodies are often thought of as mirror images of each other. However the same does not hold true for the feet. Asymmetry in Human Feet: Causes and Effects D Protecting tropical forests is essential for preserving the biodiversity and ecosystem functions. The more similar the secondary forests were to their neighboring old-growth forests, reasoned the researchers, the more they had recovered. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Overuse of digital technology can lead to the breakdown of cognitive abilities, a phenomenon known as “Digital Dementia.” (数码痴呆症). ___16___ To avoid it, it’s essential to train your memory and reduce dependency on technology. Here are five key strategies to help you. E. Mr. Brown wasn’t driving. Instead, a small man in a wrinkled uniform sat in his place. “Where’s Mr. Brown?” Mrs. Green asked dropping her fare into the box.
