逻辑关系的标志词 转折让步关系:but、yet、however、although、instead、though、while、whereas despite等。 并列递进关系:and、or、also、besides、even 、similarly、in the same way、meanwhile、furthermore、moreover等。 因果关系:therefore、thus、as a result、 for this reason 、of course等。 解析、举例关系:for example、for instance、that is to say、in other words、that means等。 Do you ever wish you had more time? Because of this, the dinosaurs and about 75% of all living things died out. 1 Scientists from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC, have an interesting idea. They believe this asteroid created the right conditions for a special relationship to grow between ants and fungi (真菌). Take modern leafcutter ants for example. They can’t directly digest (消化) leaves, yet the nutrition (营养) in leaves is necessary for them. 2 These clever ants use some farming-like skills. They go out and collect leaves, then bring them back to feed the fungi. Fungi are living things such as mushrooms, mold, or mildew. 3 The fungi digest the leaves, and the ants eat the fungi to get the nutrients from the leaves. How did ants learn this? 4 As a result, most plants and animals died without sunlight, leaving lots of decaying (腐烂的) things for fungi to eat. The fungi grew well, and ants found that eating fungi could help them survive, so they lived well too. For example, 135 is for China Mobile Communication Corporation and 188 is for China Unicom. The fourth to the seventh digits tell you which area the number is recorded in. And the last four digits are random (随机的). 3 We once had 10 digits. But as our population grew, there were not enough numbers for us to use. So we began to use 11 digits starting from 1999. Eleven digits can be used to make tens of billions of mobile phone numbers. That’s enough for each person to have seven or eight phone numbers to use in China. 4 Usually, the service provider will reuse a canceled number after three to six months. For one thing, it helps students really understand something instead of just memorizing information. This spiritual force carries over into educational environments. This process helps kids understand that success isn’t certain, which makes them work harder next time. Researches show kids who face setbacks develop better problem-solving skills. 2 They start thinking about their mistakes instead of blaming others. For example, a kid who loses a soccer match might practice more instead of complaining about teammates. Parents play a key role in shaping kids’ attitudes toward losing. Psychologists suggest paying more attention to how learning happens. Phrases like “I saw how hard you tried” focus on effort rather than results. 3 Interestingly, losing also helps kids care about others. 4 When kids see others struggle, they’re more likely to offer support. This social awareness becomes particularly important during teenage years. 5 Schools are now trying “failure workshops” where students learn how to overcome losing through challenges. This might include challenging hard questions with no solutions, or team competitions where everyone experiences both wins and losses. Teachers say kids join in more after these classes, leading to more meaningful success. A.It can actually teach kids valuable life lessons. B.It creates chances to understand others' feelings. Later, ants began to move the fungi from the wet forests where they grew well to drier places. 5 The way ants made use of fungi is quite similar to how humans started farming crops for food millions of years later. A.The ants and fungi didn’t work well. B.So, how do they solve this problem? C.The fungi couldn’t live without water. D.But here’s a surprise: it gave ants a helping hand. E.After the hit, a cloud of dust covered the sunlight. F.They can break down bad materials from other living things. Your number has 11 digits. You may sometimes find it hard to remember your number. 1 Why is that? The 11 digits can be divided into three parts. 2 The first three numbers tell you which mobile phone service provider you are using. If you call a number that you haven’t contacted (联络) for a long time, you may find that its owner has changed. Besides China, Britain and Japan also use 11-digit mobile phone number. It’s a study method that helps students learn by teaching others. 1 This is because it has several advantages. For one thing, it helps students really understand something instead of just memorizing information. Besides, unlike traditional study methods like re-reading textbooks or reviewing notes, it pushes students to be in the learning process more actively. The second step is the heart of the Feynman Technique. Explain the topic in a way that a sixth grade student can understand. 3 This step helps break down topics into their most basic parts. Next, review your explanation and try to find what you couldn’t explain simply. It can be very helpful to get advice from someone whose understanding is similar to that of a six-grader. By doing this, you can make your explanation clear. The fourth step is to improve your explanation by using the information collected from the third step. Finally, repeat the steps. 4 Once you’re confident you’ve learned the topic, it’s time to give yourself a prize. 5 A.choose a topic you want to learn. B.Perhaps, like me, enjoy a nice cup of coffee. C.Winning feels good, but may make kids afraid to fail. D.Some studies says regular practice helps kids get better. E.Educators realize the importance of resilience training.
